    This is video 3.
    Video one is with various ammo lighter grain.
    Video 2 was at 25 yards 147 grain, Impressive group, and gun.
    Is it me the gun or the ammo? Have you ever shot at a soda can at 15 yards and say. I cant believe I missed that.Can your pistol even hold under 1.5" at 15 yards. If it cant, it may increase your chances of missing.
    Accuracy matters. Sure many guns can do a occasional 1.5" or sub 1" group but can they do it repeatable. Some guns may have 3 or 4 rounds that group good once in a awhile but not all 8 rounds. And are they Repeatable 8 round? Again and again. What ammo does the gun like.Is it me the gun or the ammo.
    We are here to find out. We do not cherry pick the rounds or groups this is real true results in our videos. This is why you may miss that soda can. If you are not testing you are guessing as they say.
    First shots and groups shown here. No special formula no tricks out of box stock and stock ammo.
    Ransom Rest test for repeatability. Many various types of ammo shown and used to get a average base line of grouping. More tests to come so stay tuned.
    We did not have all ammo in stock so subscribe to channel to get notification, will add more tests and video soon. No special formula,, stock ammo stock gun real world test in real world environment.
    This test was done at the 50 yard mark. It grouped very well for the distance.
    Once we find the ammo it prefers in this Sig. We will be doing more ammo test so stay tuned. Subscribe
    What ammo does your gun like. What ammo do you prefer. Is it me or the gun. Ransom Rest helps you find this out.
    We here at Ransom hopes this video will encourage you to look at our Ransom Rest. We hope this video will show you a clearly why Ransom Rest is the preferred way to test.

    Great content ! I just picked up a new P210 A standard yesterday and this awesome video is going to help in bullet selection. I was able to freehand 1" & 2" groups at 15 and 25 yards respectively, with my trigger flinch and all....the gun is too good for my poor skills. LOL

    By far the best pistol I ever shot was a Sig P229. By best I mean I purchased the Pistol, Took it to straight to the range that was inside the gun shop and was using some Winchester White box and proceeded to group them so tight I thought I was being lucky. No adjustments, nothing. As a pistol should be from the factory.

    Just an FYI, it’s pronounced FEE-OH-KEY.
    Great video set otherwise.
    Edit: I’ve found that to remove the first round flyer, I do NOT use the slide stop to release the slide during loading. I will let the slide forward on an empty chamber, and use my hand to rack the slide all the way to the rear and release.

I have a Ransom rest with the windage base. I just checked Brownells and they don't list the rest inserts as a stock item. I hope you have inserts for the P210 in stock.

    Thank you for doing a real accuracy test using the rest. most guys say this or that gun is 'accurate' after shooting 8" steel plates at 25 yards. I read once that a good shot with a handgun from sandbags at 25 yards...... Can shoot 5 rounds on paper and then throw out the worst 2 and get about the same group as a machine rest will do. I have found this to be true but only if you are having a 'good' day or at least decent day LOL

    My 2 210s have shown me that 9mm is a sensitive round for accuracy. Little variations seem to get amplified in the 9 and show upon target. My 210-5 in particular shows this behavior. I can cut group size more than in half by just sorting out the same headstamp of brass

    I've tested 2 P210 Americans and both did better than what's displayed in this video. I don't know if it's the gun, the Ransom Rest settling, I don't know. Also, I've learned (from building 1911s) that the racked-round shooting way off typically goes away after a good amount of break-in.

    • @Ransomrest
      @Ransomrest  Год назад +1

      If your two P210s you tested were broke in well that might explain the Accuracy difference as well. This one was fresh out of box. No gun or barrel is the same.

    you might try dropping the slide with the pistol pointed up and then lowering the pistol to the shooting position. The pistol goes into battery in the up position while shooting and is then lowered to the firing position. seems funny that the 2 low shots both had the slide dropped with the pistol already in the firing position.

  • @KurtOnoIR

  • @f143744
    @f143744 2 года назад +1

    My first observations, this pistol is more accurate than a person. That’s why I always wanted a P210, any errors are you not the pistol. You can’t blame the handgun any more. Lol…. In Europe, I’m sure you can source Target Ammo for this pistol. Off the shelf generic 9mm ammo isn’t known for accuracy, or is it? Hand rack first round flyers seemed to show up quite often…

    I tried a Swiss P210-6 only once: 4 holes less than 1.5 inch at 25m freehand and less than half that on a sandbag. Too good for my skills. Especially because at the time it could have cost more than twice as much as my car.

      The S&W model 14, K38 Masterpiece with 148gr, hollow base wad cutters was the most accurate center fire target revolver I ever tested. Machine rest groups were almost as good as my custom built Douglas barrel open competition gun. There is always a variation between ammo brands.They were the overwhelming choice of the best police competition shooters in the Distinguished revolver match.
      Semi autos are a little tougher to tell because they are constantly evolving. As a former bullseye competition shooter I can say the S&W model 52 Master Match was designed from the ground up for pure accuracy right out of the box and it is superb. It only fires full wad cutters. I would love to try this new Sig and would consider one if I was still shooting distinguished auto matches.

    you have to understand that the "hand rack round" is still part of the mechanical (in)accuracy of the gun. You can't dismiss it. So much potential in these vids but when I hear the excuses come out it is disappointing. Call it for what it is, sir.

    • @Ransomrest
      @Ransomrest  Год назад

      Of course, we understand you do not dismiss any round from our test. I suppose in this video (video 3 of that gun) you may be able to make that assumption, or you wouldn't have said something about it. I appreciate you pointing it out and mentioning it. I suppose it must appear we downplayed it or appeared we dismissed it from your point of view. But I assure we never dismiss any round, from start to finish on our test. We may not have measured it this time in this video, but at that distance we did not feel a need to at that time, it seemed pretty clear to us where it was.
      We are the ones who typically bring that to light. This is why we show it, call it out and state what it is in this video. Sorry from this one video if you think or made the conclusion that we dismiss it. I am glad you recognized the hand rack, understand it and know where it comes from. Thank you for your interest in Ransom Rest and your comment.

      @@Ransomrest I enjoy your videos and appreciate your content. And thank you for the response. I have watched at least a dozen of the handgun accuracy videos over the last year and I subscribe to the channel. The impetus for me commenting was after I heard the "hand rack round," "gun is settling," "flyer," and other dismisses over and over again. Several of these tests are even performed at 7 yards, which I think is meaningless for gaining any substantive accuracy data, regardless if the gun tested will primarily be used for home defense. Also, the testing distance varies so it makes comparisons difficult. These videos would really be something to talk about--and would garner you much attention because people would refer to them in conversations about guns because of the testing value--if you standardized the testing at 50yds or 50m, and used, say, three different brands of ammo per gun test. If you had a dedicated folder in YT where people could reference that was short in length and made comparisons meaningful, that would be a valuable resource for the gun community and the Ransom brand would expand beyond the hardcore bullseye and related crowd. There have been 1M new gun purchases per month for a record 47 months in a row as of January 2023 and many of those are first-time buyers who have never heard of, nor will they ever hear of, Ransom. There is an incredible opportunity waiting for Ransom if you tweak things a little and put yourself in a position to get the new gun owners attention. Wishing you much success.

    • @Ransomrest
      @Ransomrest  Год назад

      @@smm26116 Hi Sean thank you for your response and feedback. I am glad you enjoy the content and are subscribed to the channel. Thank you. Please understand these videos are more for customers to see and learn how to properly use the Ransom Rest machine. And to experience what a test may be like for them when using a Ransom Rest. Most of our testing videos are for customers that come to us directly and ask for the test; therefore, the distances, ammo and firearm models will not be consistent in every video. For example the 7-yard videos you refer to, we did almost 15 guns that day volunteering at a range and offering this service for customers by a range request. This is not a paid service it was all volunteer, just like our videos it is not paid it is volunteer and curtesy. May note most of those gun models we tested at 7 yards are not match models and are not intended or rated for 50 yards. They are self-defense or carry models by the manufacturer.
      I’m sure you know, regardless of our data that we share your gun and barrel will absolutely be different right. You can use our info as a starting point but at no way should you consider your gun to like the same ammo or brand. This is why you need a Ransom Rest yourself. We do not want to mislead people by making them think all P210s will like the same ammo. If this was the case Sig would have that ammo right.
      I understand your suggestions, and they make sense to us. That is if we had any confidence at all that your gun would group the same with that ammo. And or, if our goal was about guns and or ammo review, or gun data. That is not our goal we are only about showing the need for you to acquire a Ransom Rest and test your gun yourself in a Ransom Rest. This is the only goal. Because your gun will be different, it will like different ammo, We do not want to deceive anyone, lead them to believe there is a special ammo or formula for that model there is not.
      For instance, In this situation with this Sig video that was shared 3 years ago, we had at the time a number of customers share videos back to us. They shared videos and info of there P210A. Many had better accuracy, and many did not having the hand rack flyer. Most cases there P210 actually liked completely different ammo brands, In one situation an entirely different bullet projectile XTP for one customer, he actually mailed it to us.
      So I hope this encourages you to get a Ransom Rest and test your model. Don’t use our info or word for it. You really may need to test it yourself.
      We understand as you said. “ Three different brands of ammo per gun test. And a dedicated folder in YT where people could reference that was short in length and made comparisons meaningful, “ would absolutely be useful. It is a excellent idea. Although that is entirely If we could only prove one model, or one brand gun will all like one kind of ammo. This is absolutely, not the case. We cannot prove that and, no one can. I am sorry I feel if that was true you would have a Federal Sig 1911 ammo for all the Sig 1911s. or a Glock ammo for all Glock 19 or 17s, or in this case a P210 Ammo for P210s . It does not exist. Glock federal Hornady they use a Ransom Rest they have this data also.
      For a recent example I have three 1911 Springfield Armory's sequential serial numbers direct from factory and they will all use different ammo. Sure today with CNC machining tolerances thus increasing the standards are more common. But the facts still stand. No barrel or ammo is the same your gun will absolutely like something different. This is why we make the Ransom Rest and offer it to you. We recently just proved this exact situation in a live demo with quite a few guns manufactures at Gunsite Academy. There was also over 12 major media writers present documenting this test. We showed how the submitted guns by MAC ( Military Armament Corp) all liked vastly different ammo, One 1911 was a 230 grain Magtech FMJ and one liked the 185 grain Nosler one like the Fiocchi. 200 grain JHP This is to get the tightest group at distance. Strange right all new and broke in, all same 1911 45 ACP models. There is no special formula or cheat sheet for this, other than testing your exact gun. Hope this encourages you to buy a Ransom Rest and do the tests yourself. Your gun will like something different Or Smith and Wesson would have that ammo already made for the M&P. Use or info for reference in your tests not ammo gospel.
      Please note we are not paid videos like most gun tubers on RUclips, We are neither viewer supported or RUclips funded, we are not a Patreon funded channel either. We also do not sell guns or ammo. We do not do guns or ammo reviews. We do not make money on any video or test we do. We only make and sell Ransom Rest. These videos are shared only as curtesy, that's all. A curtesy of our live testing we did for customer-by-customer request. This is manly for viewers and customers like yourself to know how to use the Ransom Rest machine and why the need for you the viewer to test your model and side arm. We only film the live test and release it as a curtesy to share the data and video to share the need to test and the experience of it. To start the conversation and to help you acquire some information for your gun. To encourage you to test and get a Ransom Rest. None of our videos are intended to convince anyone of the gun or ammo accuracy or special ammo for that model. Or convince anyone their gun will be the same for your exact model, other than a starting point or reference for that model gun. I really hope this info helps. We Appreciate the comment and help and direction. We will implement some of your tips, in hopes to provide relative informative information on why the need to test yours.
