You need to have a much larger volume between the exhaust port and the turbine, it won't work any further otherwise. Builds charge pressure quickly, but does not result in much power increase due to very high exhaust back pressure.
On my turbo mower I used a piece of 100mm box tube it’s completely ugly and counter intuitive in regards to flow, it’s close to double the engine capacity and it’s got power!
@@shaynegadsden who told you that! It does have an effect on pressure! I know that ignorance of engine dynamics and thinking of an engine as an air pump contradicts this but in actual practice the longer the better! Although the length increases turbo threshold it doesn’t decrease total flow other than the drag of the pipes! There’s actually more science involved than just short runners! If what you say is true then I’ll just bolt my turbo to my cylinder head
@@needmoreboost6369 thats wrong obviously otherwise everyone would rear mount their turbos but they don't it's a last resort for lack of any other option because it works but very poorly, all decent turbo manifold are as short as possible the longer it is the more potenial energy that is lost and yes if you could directly bolt you turbo to the head that would be best, as for the back pressure no unless the pipe is really smaller ie smaller than the exhaust port then no not at all the thing that will determine any back pressure is the turbines design and size
@@patriciarodriguesrentes1702 nope. Just nope. Just take the Porsches as an example, the 911 turbo was single turbo from 1974 till 1993, when electronic was advanced enough to control variable geometry twin turbos. Most VW aircooed builds are single turbo, just are most 4 cylinder turbos, no matter if V, boxer or in line. It doesn't have to do with the cylinder arrangement but more with number of cylinders and mostly exhaust gas pulses. This setup, with a low displacement v-twin and twin turbos is just horrible.
@@patriciarodriguesrentes1702 Sorry to say , you're quite wrong. Example , Subaru Imprezia , boxer engine , single turbo. Unless , ofcourse , you mean from an aesthetic point of view. Then you may have a point.
Why? nice welds are nice looking at them and done correctly are stronger but I love showing off my stick welded and bird shit looking exhaust! And then beating their tig welded expensive pipes in sound and performance
That's a nice build, those old boxers are great engines, and reliable to, until you push them that is, so how long did it take for it to break down? ;)
Dude can you please stop the cringy music. Its not a lifehack channel, the content does not need junk audio. Just keep it original its great as it is :)
If you want to build a turbo bike use one turbo, two turbos are very very bad idea, more so on a twin cylinder bike, a single carb and a single turbo will work great on a twin cylinder, thats why he's using fuel injection twin turbos might look good but its a shite system,
That welding on the manifold is shocking 😮
Yeah But give the man some credit.
That is the ultimate look for twin turbo bike love seeing bmw R18 like this nothing beats it
My big R18 would be incredible looking and sounding like this!

Yeah this statement is ass backwards the distance between the port and turbine has no effect on back pressure and shorter is better
@@shaynegadsdenNo, you are completely wrong. Have you turbocharged many 1 cylinder engines?

Sounds like a turbo diesel Nice work👍
It looks great, apart from the thickness of the brackets and the welding... 😊
top 👍👍 I want to do something similar with an AMR300 charger for my Dnepr circuits.
For a small displacement v-twin motorcycle engine, a single turbo would be preferred.
It's a boxer engine. Like happens with the air cooled VW, two turbos are almost mandatory.

Compressor wheel looks bad. Nice ideas and perhaps lot of learning to bilder. Is there something wrong whit welding machine?
Max 15 degrees angle on the oil feed connections? Straight down is optimal.
Jesus, I thought my welding was bad !
На самом деле двигателю уже почти целый век, если учитывать, что это взято с немецкого мотоцикла второй мировой войны bmw r71.
That welding though 😳

Nampak bahaya kedudukan tank minyak tu, resiko kebabooom.
does it need a tune
Can it run without leaning out and exploding or does it just look cool?
What do you mean?? I think it won't explode...but that kind of engine is Either a Boxer flat engine or just Flat engine
For sure it runs...but how does gaering works tho??😅 This is actually my first time seeing this kind of engine motorcycle
Great job
