    Hi, nice helpful, and detailed video. My situation is, first it wasn't getting gas so I tested the vacuum petcock and witched it out for new Yamaha gravity flow one. It ran but you had to choke it a lot and then it would put gas into the airbox. So I bought a new carb - put it on and it's doing the same thing. It was a new carb so one would think everything, main jet, and float would be set to spec when built. What are your ideas, any would be appreciated?.

      Hmmm, 🤔 not sure just double check all your lines are right and maybe adjust your throttle cable and see if it helps at all? And have you changed the spark plugs recently, cheap thing to cross off the list of possible issues. I'm no pro but happy to help spitball ideas. Thanks

      @@Blakestish I don't work on them every day so not a real pro either but can usually get the job done. It was an error on my part. One time or other, could have been before I first took the carb off, but when checking things over close on the vacuum lines I found the tube from the right rear brake backing plate ran up and was hooked onto the over - flo vent at the very bottom of the float bowl. I had to trace it in disbelief as I said to myself...Did I effing do that? I think the very first time I took the original carb off I threw the short vent hose in a little parts box and it got misplace or thrown away with me thinking I'd put a new one on. When I got to putting hoses and lines back on after I cleaned the original carb and put it back together I must have grabbed the extra-long brake shoe vent line that was up close near the carb with plenty of length and pushed it on the bottom bowl vent. After correcting and re-tightening things she fired right up idled good and purred like a wild - cat and didn't bog when given the gas. Sorry so windy here but this just shows the importance of checking your work over real good because it may be something as simple as a hose is hooked up wrong. I'm actually saving the original carb because it may be just fine. The aftermarket carb was not very expensive at all. Thanks for taking the time to make a video and posting...very helpful.

    Hey i have the same bike. I sealed off the vacuum line since im using the other petcock but where do you run the vent hose?

    Hi, I have the same atv.. it starts fine but stutters bad when I give it gas. There's has inside the filter box too.... How did you know the difference between it being a petcock or carb? I'm trying to pin point the problem. Thank you for the video

      Sorry I didn't see this till now I'm far to late I'm sure, but the petcock is way cheaper than a carb I would start with it. The little screens can get gunked up quickly and not flow properly ;/

    Hey where does that vacuum line up top run to exactly I can't figure it out

    • @Blakestish
      @Blakestish  4 года назад

      If you still have the factory fuel petcock valve then it goes right back to the same spot if you replace the valve like I did you can seal it off cause it's just vacuum from the carb some after market ones like the one I found doesn't need to have that vacuum hose as to it's only used by the oem fuel petcock. I replaced mine with one from another machine. It's listed in the videos description and I tried to show it best I could in the video thanks 🤙👍👍.

      So I got the atv with changes already made I picked up an original petcock and installed it the quad wouldn't start so I put it back to the way it was when I got it and it won't run I checked the carb cleaned it and it's in great shape so I know it's not the carb

      @@derekyoung3826 strange? This is a silly question but the fuel is in the "on" position? Gotta ask ive done that before it was stupid another thing to check is where the throttle cable is attached to make sure it's all in working order and the stop screw is adjusted right 🤷‍♂️

    • @derekyoung3826
      @derekyoung3826 4 года назад

      @@Blakestish so the pet cocktail the in on it now is also messed up but I have modified it to be in the on position with out leaking if I pull the hose off fuel flows and as for the throttle cable I can find anywhere how to set it up properly but I believe I have it close enough to get some kind of engine start their is no slack and everything looks good

    suzuki sucks, I cannot get a manual for this atv, where does the hose go that comes out of the bottom of the carburator? it's so close to the starter that it is automatically crimped in half after installation of a new carburator.

      @@Blakestish Thanks, I was looking into exactly why the hose is even there for that carburator, alledgedly it's an atmospheric equalizer, and the hose prevents moisture from entering the lower cauburator float valve area.
