I literally just picked up the HS50 headset the other day without looking at any reviews because I wanted to be surprised by them. I'm glad to say I was very surprised and I'm glad to see a very positive review on them because they definitely deserve it. 😊
Ruzdah got them. They're definitely comfortable and very good looking, the sound isn't impressive but it's very precise while gaming (hearing steps etc)
someone you can still locate where foot steps are coming from. Almost as if stereo is doing some simulation of surround sound of its own. I've played rb6, pubg, watchdogs and assassin's creed origins with Dolby atmos and you can still pinpoint where certain noises are coming from. I just bought them for fun to use for music, movies on my laptop and for the quality of audio is some of the best I've experienced for only $50! If you're not sure about them get them at Walmart, target, best buy and try them out for as long as their return policy offers and if you like them keep them if not get your money back and try something else 🤙
First time watching one of your videos... I just had to pause after 45 seconds to tell you that the quality of your content is incredible, and it shows you have invested a lot (of money and time) in the quality; not only does the video look astonishing, the sound is crystal clear, the editing is amazing and you also are creative at it. Just incredible.
Péter Friedrich I listen to classic rock music, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc. Sounds great to me personally. Doesn't sound too flat, and doesn't sound too bassy either. And it can get quite loud listening plugged into my phone.
Akom HD I haven't used it a lot yet, so I can't really comment on the build quality. It seems well-built, a little flexible, and the leather on the ear cups is decent. But I would have them for months to a year to see how well they hold up. The wire is just a standard rubber wire, not braided cable which I like, but the rubber wire is a bit on the thicker side so hopefully it will last. For $50, I think they are worth trying out.
I can't see the comment that asked me if there is a mic, but yes there is indeed a mic that comes with it. It's removable from the headset and the headset comes with a little rubber piece to stick in the hole if you take the mic out. As you can hear in Dmitry's review, it sounds decent, not too great and not too bad. The boom part of the mic is very flexible which I like.
Thank you for helping me narrow down my gaming headset search! I watched several of your videos over the past few days and it really helped make a smart decsion on what headset works best for me and my budget! I appreciate your honest opinion and product demos! Looking forward to future videos!
Hs70 are 90-100 dollars and have 7.1 surround sound while being wireless. They give you software to download as well which lets you control the audio for movies, gaming, or listening to music. It would have been a better comparison with the 99$ ones.
My Corsairs started to fall apart about 8 months ago. Material came away from the ear cup, and where the phone's swivel snapped last week on the right side. Go for the Sennheisers.
what I love most about your reviews is how easy it is to notice how picky you are and serious you are about quality and you cover all the bells and whistles
I got cloud IIs for Christmas in silver so they don’t look as gamery, and going up 4x in price from what I had before is an amazing upgrade in build quality, convenience and sound quality. Before I had RGB USB headphones that didn’t come with software drivers and the drivers weren’t online so I was SOL. Sounded fine but had “vibrate” instead of bass and had no 3.5 adapter. Now I take my cloud IIs everywhere and I love them.
Id have to agree. I personally love the Hyper Cloud 2s. I returned the Krakens (a gift) and got these instead because I had done a bunch of research and bang for your buck pointed to these. Im pretty impressed. For the price they are MORE than worth it. The quality is what wowed me. From the materials used to the embroidery and even the comfort of wearing them. I feel like they put a lot of time looking into the finer details and with it came these sweet ass ear pieces. Totally love em. My bro put them on and loved them. He went and bought a pair as well. I dont think anyone would be let down with this headset.
been using a cloud 2 for couple years now and no regrets at all. the 7.1 surround has saved my ass a few times in games like PUBG BF etc etc. you can't underestimate the advantage of knowing exactly where those footsteps are coming from.
Recently posted on Twitter, and none of my TechTubers responded at all, so I took a chance and am not disappointed. Aorus H5 with 50mm Beryllium Drivers at $70 USD is by far the most impressive value proposition I've seen (or heard, rather). In love with the sound and feel of the headset, would love if HWC took at a look at them.
I have been using a Sennheiser PC360 a little over 2 years now and for the most part have worked very well. All the features of this headset are great....very comfortable, excellent sound, very durable and a good mic. The only issue I have with it...is the mic recently died on me, which was very disappointing. So now I'm in the market for another headset. I like the GSP 300 the most out of the 3 viewed here except for one thing. The ear cups are closed back, not open, which is what I prefer like on my 360's. I wish I could just get the mic fixed on my set because there is nothing wrong with them other than that. But because of the non working mic it looks like I may have to spring for another pair.... Another informative and well done review.
I'm currently at the point of throwing my G933s across the room, they're creaky, have a loose contact in the chargng port and power switch and there's a rattling piece of plastic inside the right ear cup. I've treated these quite well over the past year, and the state they're in is absolutely terrible for the 200 Euro price tag. Consider this a warning.
I would RMA those. Ive been using G933 for the past year, and I love them. Had a few annoyances in the beginning, but most have been fixed with updated software. That said, Im not sure if ill buy Logitech next time.
Exact same problem with my G633's the build quality is absolute garbage, I took care of it as if it was my baby but somehow Logitech made the headset so shit that it fell apart anyway
Depends. There is the hs60 which is about $15 more. And comes with 7.1 surround sound. (A usb) but that isnt that worth it on console. Hs60 has very slightly more comfortable. But hardly worth it. Build quality us the same. Very durable
The other option I have found at this price point is the Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum (formerly $199) is now selling for $99-$135 in the US (including popular stores like Amazon and Best Buy). Its a very versatile headset that work wired and wireless with all your computers and consoles. The price fluctuates from week-to-week.
Awesome vid man, thanks, been researching a lot for a good, but under 100 bucks, gaming headphones. I'm still looking but your video definately shortened my list of possibilities :D
In my opinion the HyperX Cloud Core is a lot better deal. That's what I bought last year for $50, although now it's around $70. Still pretty good though. And you can buy velour earcups for them for $10.
Just got them on a sale for $42 -- direct conversion from the currency here to US dollars -- they feel amazing compared to the crappy ones I used to own.
I saw that you were playing Assassins Origins. I love it.. I'm hooked. I just started to play it 2 weeks ago. And for the time I had so far to actually be able to play. I am currently up to level 34. Love this review. And I have no problems using my HyperX cloud 2's. They have survived well so far. I may buy another set again this year. But will be giving another manufacturer a chance to prove itself. Hope you have an excellent New Year my friend. And hope to one day get to meet you in person at a public event or a meet and greet situation.. Love you all HardwareCanucks.
Vance neither if possible. Safe up a bit more and get a good pair of headphones with a decent separate microphone that you can get for $20/30. Sennheiser HD500 line has amazing offers around the $100/150 range.
I have an HS50 and it's very good but I don't have a cloud so I can't help you here. He asked between those two headsets and not some other but if he's looking for other options too, go for it I guess.
TheFlamingKat problem is, the clouds are re-engineered from qpads/takstar pro 80's which is a 'real headphone' takstart pro 80's heavily influenced from beyerdynamics, so the clouds is a studio grade headphone but tuned for gaming (more on the bass, and sound staging for sensing directional audio) the middle ground is get the hs50 , the core although might have slightly better audio and comfort quality, the hs50 is an all rounder.
In the same spirit of not wanting to be a troll....maybe I have a cool $10,000 burning a hole in my pocket and am in the market for said pair of super pricey headset. Or maybe I'd just like to know if there's a particularly better headset that costs say $101.
The easy fix for the too much noise isolation is to install airdroid so you can see your phone notification on your pc and hear calls and if you have a a dedicated mic you can use some software to mirorr the sound to your headset
I have the Sennheiser GameOne for my PC and the GSP 300 for my Xbox one. Really like both of these. And I thank you for your recommendation a while back when I asked
Can you guys also do a keyboard/mouse roundup and a audio headset roundup? Would love to see a 2017 updated version after all the products you guys have reviewed.
Now do a list for favorite headsets above 100$. Also i just used your review for the Sennheiser Game Zero to buy one yesterday... Way to make me doubt my choice. ;p
Niklas Podolski If you strictly want a gaming headset then there is no other choice, the zero's are the best gaming headset. If you already have a standalone microphone then I would suggest you get real headphones.
Not even that, buy yourself a pair of Philips Phidelio X2 (not the X2RF or something model) and with that also a modmic or something similar and you got under 300 euros a pair of incredibly fun headphones and a pretty damn good mic, with that budget you shouldn't waste money on gaming headsets, strictly only until you hit 100 after that everything else is overpriced junk in the headseats market.
dmitri (sry idk how to spell it) makes the hs50 seem awesome ! not saying that it isnt good, I just hold my self to the ground when it comes to reviews. these two at Hardware Canucks always make incredible videos and reviews keep up the awesome work!
i had the arctis 5. i think that the headset is well made and pretty nice, but honestly its not my cup of tea. i returned it after being bugged by the sound dongle thing always falling off my desk, and how it made my ears feel really weird after long gaming sessions. also, with the price of $100, its really just not worth it. i love steelseries tho, and maybe with some better earpads it would be 10x better.
7 years later i´m still using logitech z5500 paired with a Denon AVR-X3300W and i´m Fucking happy with it. I used once a pair of gaming headset, and never again i will use another one. They´re too expensive for what they offer, too expensive for what are NOT offering, too poorly made, etc etc ... All in all, Happy New Year to all of you and keep rocking this channel peeps :)
I just checked and hes going by american currency and the void is $99 so it is in the range, I think he didnt put it in was because these ones had more value for the price, what I mean is that they are all 3.5 mm so they can also plug into other devices, yes theres the void with the same plug but the audio wasnt as good to the usb void or the ones showed in this video
Nice Review. Here in US Best Buy has a Gaming Bundle where you get the HS50 Headset, K55 Gaming Keyboard, Harpoon RGB Gaming Mouse for $69.00 so basically you are getting the Headset for around $35 with that package..
You can hear enemies pretty damn well if you have proper headphones. The DT880 are in my opinion the best option for gaming as they block sounds like keyboards and mice while still being partly open for a wider sound stage.
Headsets are much more convenient. Less money, less cables. You can easily get an entire headset for the price of just one modmic. Not everyone is worried about perfect quality
I'm going for the HS50 because of my budget. I've been looking for a high-quality hesdset for under 50 bucks, and the all-black and part metal build sold me instantly.
@@itzikalma9959 Earcups started falling apart just a bit a few months ago, but really great for the price. The metal build is holding up really well. Sound quality's still good and mic is also fine for its purpose. If your budget's $50 and you want a gaming headset, they're still a good buy.
NICE . i like this kind of review, and answers all my question. i think i'm gonna pick hs50 and then tape the logo so i can bring it to listen music at the public
I'll take the Alphas, I tried both the cloud 2 and the Alphas and trust me, the alpha is better. Don't trust virtual surround sound, my previous headset the VOID surround had it, and the Alphas are better without it. The clarity, balance and detail on the Alphas, they are just astonishing for 99 bucks, and I can't stress this even further, good stereo>virtual surround sound
I dont game with other people that much so I think I'll go with the HS50's for the times I need a mic and then wear a pair of really nice open back headphones the rest of the time. Thanks for the review!!
I like your videos Dimitri best explanation of pros and cons and overall opinion about the things you review. Now I want to buy HS50 because it sounds like it has eveything you could want from headset except of rgb but because of price you cant get it and its totally fine
I'm going to go for the cloud alpha over the cloud 2 because of the box issues on xbox. P.s have you heard of Mpow Gaming Headsets? They've good reviews on Amazon but no one with a popular reputable channel has done a review on them. Would be great if you reviewed them.
ordered hd598 SR last night, I’ll see how they are without an amp but might get e10k amp and dac combo. Excited as it is my first pair of good headphones coming from Logitech G231 and hyper x cloud 2. Got a rode NT USB aswell the other week
Philips SHP9500S - normally ~$50 at Newegg. Vmoda boom pro mic $30 - boom a good $80 headset. I use this setup on my PS4 while using the USB adapter that came with my Cloud 2.
Honestly the Corsair hs50 is pretty a good headset it sounds really nice but the leather does end up tearing apart maybe 4-5 months after using them and they are kind of uncomfortable they kind of stick to the neck but yeah for their price they are amazing
Hi. I've been researching for over 2 months now on finding the perfect headphones under 100$. I was about to buy the GSP 350 and then I found the JBL Quantum 400. Which one do you recommend? I'll just blindly get whatever you say at this point. Sound quality is the only thing I'm looking at. Best music and some FPS. Don't really care much about the mic.
I'd like to see a comparison video for the Sennheiser GAME ZERO & the Sennheiser GSP 300. Sennheiser claims that the GAME ZERO is the most comfortable & best sounding headset on the market, but is it really better than the GSP 300 & if it is then is it worth paying twice the money for?
i have a hyper x cloud core and i honestly think it is better than the cloud 2 from watching this video i have been using this headset for quite a few months and i love it
I would be very curious of your opinion about the Razer Headphones for gaming. Did you not include them in any of your videos becouse they are not good enough? I am about to buy headphones for gaming, and based on you videos I think I will stick with the Sennheiser GSP 300.

Also great dynamic range

"Under $100". Alpha has higher price.
Lance no it’s the same
Now do a list for favorite headsets above 100$. Also i just used your review for the Sennheiser Game Zero to buy one yesterday... Way to make me doubt my choice. ;p
why cloud 2 when there is cloud alpha, arent those 99 dollars as well?
Mr Abram in USD, maybe. In Canada they're $140. They're on sale for $99 at Staples until January 2nd and there's low stock right now sadly. :(
Over here the Cloud 2 is around 50 EUR, the Cloud alpha is 99 EUR.
I'm using the Arctis 7 and I'm loving it so much
Pls do a Top 3 or Top 5 Gaming Headsets under 300 Euro. Would be awesome, because iam searching for one.
Niklas Podolski just get the Sennheiser game zero headset bro
MPS i know this one, but its already rly old. There have to be a better one or?
Niklas Podolski If you strictly want a gaming headset then there is no other choice, the zero's are the best gaming headset. If you already have a standalone microphone then I would suggest you get real headphones.
MPS Okey, i don't have a seperate microphone. So i will think about the game zero. Thanks for ur advice.
Where is artics 5?
Kenny Rifky Shadik that is a piece of junk
Jan Alexander proof?
Jan Alexander It's ranked highly on Tom's guide, and it is pretty accurate I would say
Kenny Rifky Shadik nope
i had the arctis 5. i think that the headset is well made and pretty nice, but honestly its not my cup of tea. i returned it after being bugged by the sound dongle thing always falling off my desk, and how it made my ears feel really weird after long gaming sessions. also, with the price of $100, its really just not worth it. i love steelseries tho, and maybe with some better earpads it would be 10x better.
I have the Cloud 2 and it's nice! Great video!
Senny HD 598SE's + clip on mic under $100 easy, none of this 'gaming' bullshit.
Apex I prefer Closed back
598c's then :p
Apex HD 598 CS costs twice as much as GSP 300 in my country...
And it doesn't even have a mic
£75 for the HD598's new, or less if 2nd hand and £25 for a semi decent clip on lapel mic, and if you get them 2nd hand even better value.
CORSAIR VOID 7.1 USB ITS SO GOOD WHY IS IT NOT HERE!!!!!????
BradBadgerTamer isnt that more than $110? I have the void and love the feel but the sound is decent and the mic is pretty tin sounding
Venom415 the wireless one is like 150 but i got the usb one for 95€ (note in euros).
Venom415 yeah but that would be stupid if hes only including AUX cable headsets
Like I said, more value because it can be used on more devices
Thank you for continuing to release videos on things I can actually afford
fail, the alpha are at 99 dollars is much better than the cloud 2
or just get the sennheiser, it's better overall.
It's his opinion
Maybe better for u,but not for any people...
Nice Review. Here in US Best Buy has a Gaming Bundle where you get the HS50 Headset, K55 Gaming Keyboard, Harpoon RGB Gaming Mouse for $69.00 so basically you are getting the Headset for around $35 with that package..
fuck gaming headsets buy real headphones and a modmic/vmoda
IamMotionMedia i Hope U dont Play Ego Shooter/ Comp Games
Unnamed Internet Citizen U cannot really hear the enemys
You can hear enemies pretty damn well if you have proper headphones. The DT880 are in my opinion the best option for gaming as they block sounds like keyboards and mice while still being partly open for a wider sound stage.
Headsets are much more convenient. Less money, less cables. You can easily get an entire headset for the price of just one modmic. Not everyone is worried about perfect quality
Sennheisers aren't real headphones?
When you gonna post gameplay of you playing Cato, you seem to be on point from the times I've seen you play in videos.
what abt the razer kraken pro v2
Abeel Admin ik hs50 vs kraken pro v2?
razer is shiet
Razer??? LOL
IDK why so much hate abt razer I have them and there great
Razer review needed
I'm going for the HS50 because of my budget. I've been looking for a high-quality hesdset for under 50 bucks, and the all-black and part metal build sold me instantly.
How is the headset?
@@itzikalma9959 Earcups started falling apart just a bit a few months ago, but really great for the price. The metal build is holding up really well. Sound quality's still good and mic is also fine for its purpose. If your budget's $50 and you want a gaming headset, they're still a good buy.
thank you for the review, I purchase the Corsair HS50Pro (the non pro is not available anymore)
NICE . i like this kind of review, and answers all my question. i think i'm gonna pick hs50 and then tape the logo so i can bring it to listen music at the public
Wow, what an in depth and great review! I feel like I know some much more about these headsets. Great job! Thank you!
I use a Steelseries Siberia 150 (also way under $100) in PUBG & CSGO and have no complaints so far.
I like how you open with showing your HD800. You're such a teas Dmitry.
I like your videos Dimitri best explanation of pros and cons and overall opinion about the things you review. Now I want to buy HS50 because it sounds like it has eveything you could want from headset except of rgb but because of price you cant get it and its totally fine
Ankther great review, full of detailed evaluation. 👍
Do you think i should get a gaming headset, or rather use my Audio Technica M50x and get a Antlion mic ?
SHP9500 + Vmoda mic = $100 ,nothing can beat this combo.
Love my Hyper X Cloud II headset. No complaints from me or my friends I chat with.
I'm going to go for the cloud alpha over the cloud 2 because of the box issues on xbox.
P.s have you heard of Mpow Gaming Headsets? They've good reviews on Amazon but no one with a popular reputable channel has done a review on them. Would be great if you reviewed them.
I have hyperx everything else but deffinatly will be going for one of the other pairs after hearing this review
I'm currently using apple earbuds and a splitter. 10/10 value option. $0.99 total cost, and it even functions.
I was impressed with the microphone quality of the Sennheiser GSP 300 compared to the other two. Looking for a good headset that has good mic quality.
ordered hd598 SR last night, I’ll see how they are without an amp but might get e10k amp and dac combo. Excited as it is my first pair of good headphones coming from Logitech G231 and hyper x cloud 2.
Got a rode NT USB aswell the other week
I ordered the Sennheiser ones based on your review to move up from my Logitech 7.1 headset.
Philips SHP9500S - normally ~$50 at Newegg. Vmoda boom pro mic $30 - boom a good $80 headset. I use this setup on my PS4 while using the USB adapter that came with my Cloud 2.
I’ve had cloud 2 for over a year now my number one gaming headset I’ve used great sound for gaming and bass is good for music
would love to see an updated video about this topic
Awesome roundup.
I am about to buy headphones for gaming, and based on you videos I think I will stick with the Sennheiser GSP 300.
great video!! can you do Under 200 next???
im looking at Logitech G933 at the moment {in white}
