Patreons Wild Camping? Wild Patreons Camping more like. 😂 Great weather, lovely crowd, beautiful scenery, what a brilliant day. Trev you remind me the first time I visited Portland Bill. I did not know the foghorn test was due. I stood right in front of it and my brain almost liquefied. 🤣
🤣🤣🤣 Yea I bet that scared you half to death. Similar thing happened to me in New Zealand. Was staying in a hostel, and had watched a program about what to do if an earthquake or volcano erupted. During that night I was awoken by what can only be described as an air raid siren. Proper shit myself. Turned out was the towns alarm alerting firemen?! Wtf? Pagers existed then too?!
Cheers Christopher. Glad that you enjoyed it. Was a good weekend and some great company too. Portland is quite a unique landscape, definitely worth looking at. Thanks for watching!
@@SummitOrNothing Few things of interest on the way. About two miles or so from Portland, but over the fleet, is Bridging camp. The National Service boys used to use the fleet to construct temporary bridges for tanks etc. My father was one of them. Further on up, you will come across concrete marker booths, which were also used for the forces. Two, I think, a mile apart. Further on up are the old fisherman huts. You will see the multi wheeled tractors, used to go up and down the beach with the fishing nets. Around half way up the beach, you come to Dragons Teeth. This is a large row of anti tank cubes of concrete that used to go from the sea, back up the beach, then down the other side, to the Swannery, which will be self explanatory when you see it. Keep walking, and you will get to Abbotsbury, home of the Sub Tropical Gardens, which is nice, if not a bit expensive, but there is a port a cabin cafe and toilets in the car park on the beach. Carry on up and you will come to West Bexington. Not much further, you will come to cliffs. Not sure if you can climb up to a coastal path, as I be never done it. Bu then that may take you around to Seatown, the other end of Chesil. Hope this helps.👍🏾🇬🇧
@@SummitOrNothing just finished watching, great vid as always mate, cracking weather for it as well. I’ve been sent some trainers by Columbia, I went for the Facet 75, which i’ve noticed are also quite wide, so far so good though 👍🏼
Great walk to watch, would love to get there. Fantastic video Trev, and thanks making me laugh the whole time, watching your antics got me into this sport. keep up the great work 👍👍
I feel like maybe there should have been more suffering in pouring rain and cold for a proper Summit Or Nothing experience (just joking). I couldn't help but note yall were in Portland (Isle of) and the guide had a Portland Trail Blazers (Basketball team) hat, and I live in Portland Oregon LOL
Hahaha..... yea, there's still time for that later in the month when a handful of Patreons join me on Dartmoor for some wildcamping. And wow, that's a small world... do you think they wore the hat intentionally. Well spotted by the way
Yea, was a great result. Let's hope that's the end of it. I'll probably not do a video on it though, there'll be plenty going up in the next few days I'm sure.
That's some scenery and a half!
Yep, Portland is something else
I used to go mountain biking around Portland. Brought back memories while watching this.
Awesome! I love Portland and Weymouth! I go there a few times a year and did a wild camp there with my son
Yep, it's a special place. Cheers for watching, mate. Hope you're well.
Love Portland ❤ I often see it from the water
