I use plastic grocery bags inside the plastic insert. I just slide it in like I would the empty receptacle. I only use Tidy Cats Scoop for multiple cats. I have two of them. An important hack I heard was to wax the interior of the pan with Turtle Wax and buff it out. That helps considerably...especially since one of mine is in my closed garage in SW Florida's heat! (there's a kitty door from the house to get out there.) Before that, I was having problems with litter going into the slots where the rollers roll and sticking. I wouldn't trade them for anything!
You apologizing for the cardboard and for your pants, I can tell you’re a very clean person.. GIRL DO YOU KNOW HOW CLEAN THAT HOUSE LOOKS COMPARED TO MINE?!?! You Do NOT have to say sorry for anything! ❤️
Only, hard clumping litter. Makes a huge difference. My flap stayed up too. My old litter maid jumbo, never did that..lol I put some foam in two gaps so it can't stay open.
You're suppose to slide the container on the bottom. I didn't cut mine. I just put the plastic bag. Then I slide in underneath, not the top. I have two cats so I check the machine daily. I scrape the bottom because the pee clumps on the bottom. Once I scrape it, I put in clean mode so it will dispose into the container. Before I put into clean mode, I push the litter all the way at the back. So when it scrapes, it will get everything. Once it's done, I put some litter on the back. So when the rake goes back, it will even out the litter.
I use two plastic grocery bags , put one inside the other and it works perfectly. Fold it around the edges then when you pull it out you have 2 handles to tie together and throw away . easy piesey
Did you attach the string to it? Did you use elastic? It needs to have some stretch to it and be attached loosely but not too loose that it hangs in the box. Also, i have recently discovered that when you attach the litter catching tray and make sure it snaps into place, it no longer has the issue of the lid being left up.
Both the tray and the lid are made to slide in from the front with the plastic tab in the front. Even with grocery bags over my plastic pan, it slides in perfectly. Just make sure you get it into the slot.
Yep, I used hot glue. Honestly, if you could use some kind of clips (so you can detach it if you need to), that would be the best option. I will have to explore more on that.
Hi, i know this is an older video and you may not see this, but I wondering if you would be able to give me the dimensions of this litterbox? preferably without the ramp installed. Thank you for the video nonetheless
The Multi-Cat litter box measures 27 x 18 x 10 inches and is best for larger cats over 15 pounds or who share a litter box. The Single-Cat litter box measures 24 x 18 x 10 inches. You can look the litterboxes up online (Amazon/walmart) to see more detailed descriptions of the dimensions.
Glue a non stick cooking sheet to the bottom. Problem solved. There's a ton on Amazon for cheap www.amazon.com/s?k=teflon+cooking+sheet&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
I use the crystal bead litter with mine and no....clumping it is so much better!!! I have a cat that buries her pee so it was not doing much good until I started using this litter
On the power button, there are 3 settings. "Clean", "off", "on" Sounds like you have it switched on "clean" mode. Switch the power button to the "on" setting instead
The ones in the video are from walmart, color scents 8 gallon medium trash bags. I have since switched to compostable bags on Amazon, lirex 2.6 gallon compostable bags. Any medium sized bag should work or small bags that have a larger opening/is able to stretch out around the receptable edges without bending it too much.
I use regular grocery bags. You don't have to cut them...just fit them over the tray and slide it in. I've never had my lid stick open if I keep that dumb little plank on the front (My cats just jump out and let the litter fly!) I started by using scented bags, but they were too big, and I felt like I was hurting the environment by using a big bag. By using the grocery bags, I feel like I'm at least using something that I would have ended up throwing away...after I got tired of waiting for myself to take them to the store and recycle them...which never seems to happen! LOL
When you say used up gravel... are you talking about the litter?? The rake will rake the waste into the bag/receptacle and you remove the bag/receptacle, replace the bag and put it back.
I've used Littermaids for almost 20 years now. First and foremost, the third generation boxes (the blue ones) suck. Find a second gen beige one if you can. Secondly, do *NOT* use cheap litter! Do not use _any_ kind of clay litter, they just don't work. They don't clump fast or hard enough. I always use World's Best Cat Litter. It's expensive initially, but it lasts much much longer.
@@RK-iw8jz alright bro. Thank you. I guess I’m asking how your cats get us so high in that video I’m assuming they jump but I got an older cat who can’t lol
@@Iwish4zombies Mine, the cats jump up a foot to the platform that sticks out and they walk up the ramp. I have a kitchen garbage bag on a bin. Lasts for months.
Be prepared to waste some money, I have had 4 of these boxes, 2 failed fairly early. I like your bag hack as the litter tends to leak around the receptacle, makes me think the engineers do not have cats.
I'm sorry to hear about your failed boxes. I have had both of mine for about 4 years now and they are still going! Yep, litter leakage was an issue. The bag helps a lot and then I used a plastic storage bin (after cutting a side out) to collect the litter that falls out between the tray and lid when it's being scooped.
@@angeljurich8824 I am sticking with being the litter maid, cheaper & less angst. Widow home alone so Mr. Fixit does not live here (greatly missed), company needs to fix the common fail.

Ingenious fixes there. Thanks for the information.
Thank you for the Receptacle bin hack been needing a solution for when i go on trips. This video was extremely useful.

How do you dump the used-up gravel without taking it all apart? Do you sort of shovel it out with a dust pan or ????

@@angeljurich8824 yes, the litter. I understand how it removes clumps, but bits break off and inevitably one has to dump it all and start fresh.

Cut the bottom out of the tray and have it dump into a trash can with a bag. 3 cats, empty it once a week.
Build a platoform to raise it then how do the cats get up there?
