    Thank you for the review and the update on your litter preference. I just adopted a sweet older boy, but the litter I am using now isn't cutting the urine odor (and I scoop twice a day). Did the Arm and Hammer Slide litter itself have the harsh smell?

    • @paulepling
      @paulepling 7 лет назад

      Agirl seems to be harsh alone, but worse when there's pee

    • @mollymorales3118
      @mollymorales3118 6 лет назад +4

      I use Slide exclusively for my cats and I wouldn't switch if someone paid me to. I've never noticed any smell coming from our litter box. I have two cats that share one box. I clean it at least once per day.

    • @paulepling
      @paulepling 6 лет назад

      Molly Morales it does definitely work, I would consider giving it another shot if they somehow figured out how to neutralize the starchy smell, it what that is in it that makes it smell so different from fresh step.

      Use pellets instead , get it at tractor supply for 4.99 40 lb bag

      Did really cut it for my girl either. It smelled like I didn't even clean her litter box.

    These sifting boxes with sifter sitting directly under the litter never work well as the waste sticks to the grates. If you want a sifting box, get the Van Ness sifting enclosed litter pan. It comes setup sifter, pan, pan, just rearrange it so it is pan, sifter, pan. Then to sift it in that configuration you pop the top off, lift out the top pan full of litter and pour it on top of the sifter sitting in the bottom pan. Now lift the sifter filtering out the clumps, discard clumps and now use the bottom pan full of cleaned litter as top pan. You're rotating pans. This box in a large can be purchased for under $10, the extra giant $15.59, a lot cheaper than this option. The disadvantage to doing it pan, sifter, pan is you must lift what can be a somewhat heavy pan full of litter, depending on litter used, and pour thru the sifter, so scooping would be physically easier for some people. I do think scooping has more of a tendency to break up clumps though.

      I like this one. All that you have to do is flip it upside down, over the renewed tray, and anything stuck falls out, if still stuck, use the fine scoop. This combination is the best, period. No batteries, no bags, liners, just simple.

    • @paulepling
      @paulepling 4 года назад +1

      The best litter to actually use is fresh step, clumps flawlessly, and always flip tray upside down to remove stuck pieces, and poke out the way they came in, just a tip, you learn as you use it

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 4 года назад

      @@paulepling But is that any faster than just scooping after taking the time to clean the grate? I've tried almost everything including the automatic litterboxes, waste sticks to the moving parts which then require extensive cleaning, and I keep circling back to scooping an open litter pan as the easiest, and cheapest solution. And you only have a pan to be cleaned out periodically, not multiple pieces. At $65, and a whopping 27% 1star reviews on Amazon, it's obvious that the Luuup is an expensive option a lot of buyers are not happy with. In fact, I wonder if that has anything to do with its unavailability right now on their site and Amazon. Perhaps it has been discontinued.

    Tidy cats was the best for odor and pretty good with clumping in the regular boxes, not the sifting ones. Too bad they have discontinued it and now offer this horrible light weight that is so bad with the smell and terrible tracking everywhere.

    Why did you end up choosing the Naturals over the Slide? I understood that the Naturals was dustier.

    • @paulepling
      @paulepling 6 лет назад +2

      D. L. Diehl I based that opinion off of only a couple uses, it was lighter to handle, less expensive, seemed to sift faster, easier to sweep, but they seemed to only pee in it, and actually I couldn't really get a full experience from it, but for all the pros opposed to cons on the two, I chose that one

    • @DianaLDiehl
      @DianaLDiehl 6 лет назад +1

      Thanks for your reply! I'm working on replacing a lot of litter boxes that I rotate through in an attempt to make cleaning easier and to get some fussy cats to actually go IN the litter box.

    • @paulepling
      @paulepling 6 лет назад +3

      D. L. Diehl Sounds tough. Changing at least twice a day every day and beginning to show a lot more love around the box is maybe the only way

    I've been seeing a lot of negative reviews for the Luuup, but you seem pretty happy with it as long as you use a good cat litter. Now that it's been almost a year, are you still using it? If you are, do you still like it? Thanks!

    • @reviewstuffhonestreviews9383
      @reviewstuffhonestreviews9383  6 лет назад +3

      Yes, I still use it, and love that I own it. Every once in a while, a month or more, when it's time to renew all of the litter, all new, I have bought scotch guard, and coated all the trays to keep it water resistant. Neverwet is a product I'm interested in too for it. But, yes I still love this product, and still stand firm on the fact I believe it keeps the litter, the box, and the floor the cleanest possible. I have a method for using this the most efficient and cleanest way possible that takes like 5 minutes or less. I plan on making a very useful how to video to use it the best way possible

    Hi! I used Boxie Cat Litter ( I still have more than half a bag left) and am having problems where the litter goes through the boxes (like the last one BUT A LOT MORE). I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience and, if so, how they combated it. Thank you.

    • @paulepling

      one little tip is I make sure to press down on the lower ones with my thumb while i get the lift started with my fingers. it reduces the "pressure lock" they create, to allow only the top to separate instead of lifting the others by any bit

  • @sheilanc1

    You should try pine pellet it's so much better. you do have to scoop the poop put it will soak up all the urine and no cat peep smell at all. It will sift to the bottom of your cat liter boxes. More cost effective healthier for you and your cats.

    • @flyingcat2054

      Corn cob litter has been sold for a long time. If the poisoning is there, what about all the corn products we consume? Besides the vegetable form, there’s corn starch, corn syrup (variations of that), corn meal, corn oil, corn derivatives are in so many things we consume and we can’t always get it “organic” especially when eating out.

    • @kaylakurosaki4873
      @kaylakurosaki4873 5 лет назад

      Idk what tidy cat you use but I work at a pet store and yes all the tidy cat 24/7 are that color grey. Not only that but tidy cat sucks ass in my opinion especially the 4-1 way to strong floral scent that made the whole area the litter box was in stink to high heaven. Out of all the litter I tried I love slide odor control, fresh step extreme unscented and everclean the most. Use to love dr elsey litter but as of lately their litter been way to dusty and the odor control is now nonexistent.
