Saw this video last week. The bag trick is brilliant. Genius! I always have overflow after a day or two or litter in the cracks and this has solved it. Thanks!
Great video! Just got my first Littermaid and your explanation on how to clean it worked great for me! And the bag trick is genius! My litter box woes are over ! Thank YOU
In case anyone was wondering, on Etsy, there is a guy who does a 3-D print of the trays so you don’t ever have to buy replacement ones and you don’t have to tape the bag to it, it’s about $50 but it’s definitely worth it
Thanks for both videos. You've helped me decide to get one of these for my cats. Had one years ago and it was fine. The bad reviews on this one are discouraging but you've shown me nothing but successful results. I don't see any concerns. Thanks!
Two months later.... The box has been great! Well. After trying every possible litter to find one that worked, it works great. I was shocked how many name brand litters are junk and won't work well with this box. World's Best is good but costs a fortune. But being broke one week, I got store brand clumping litter from Kroger and THAT stuff is perfect. Rock-hard clumps in seconds. It is dusty though. But it's cheap and works like crazy. Now that I solved the problem, I'm getting a second box. My 3 little fuzzies love the first one always being clean so now they will have two to choose from. Could not be happier. Once again thanks so much for the great review!
When you are done cleaning, spraying the rake, channel and bottom of tray with Pam, will greatly help with future cleanings. I use it every time I clean the entire Litterbox.
I'm investigating auto litter boxes... turning towards this one so far. How does it work for a 30lb cat? Do you think it will be big enough? Right now I always use a spray bottle of white vinegar mixed with water on my current litter box...it's true, just let it sit for a few minutes and it totally dissolves the litter and anything else stuck to the box, rinse with hot water and done. Vinegar is also a very effective disinfectant, as well as kills odors. My grandmother used vinegar on everything. Thanks for this video, very helpful. Just want to know about my heavy cat is all, then I'm buying one if it's good to go for him.
The biggest cat i have is a 15 pounder. I would suggest getting the bigger one, for multi-cats instead of the smaller one, for single cat. I think that would work just fine for it!
@@angeljurich8824 Hi Angle, thanks for replying about the weight of a cat in this litter box. I did contact the manufacturer and they do not recommend it for my 30 lb cat... they said he was too heavy for it? I told them when they come out with one that can accommodate my 30 pounder I will definitely buy one. :) That or if he loses at least 10 lbs. He's on a diet now... LOL
Amazing how well the vinegar works! I was worried about having to take the box apart to clean it but the vinegar makes it simple simple to just wipe the box out where it sits. Think I will give this box a try.
that is actually a great idea! I notice a lot of these auto litter boxes often don't catch the little pieces.. which can often smell as bad as the big stuff over time. That and my kitties would still think the litter is not clean.. always looking for a clean spot when they dig. Cats are sometimes very fussy about their toilet.. much like people :)
www.amazon.com/dp/B085NLQ58Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_ic1aGbAWJ4TBB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Thank you! These are the ones I am currently using. Although, any bag will do, really.
Just a note Angel... adding the crystals to the litter itself might not be a good idea, it could cause respiratory problems in you cats. stick to baking soda, that would be safer.
@@lyrikah Thank you for lyrikah, I watched the video a second time and realize my mistake. It is actually a brilliant idea to keep the odor down in the receptacle. :)
I have a single cat automatic and also a multiple cat automatic box. So, 2 automatic boxes and then 2 more regular boxes throughout the house for my 3 cats. With the automatic boxes, I change the bags out once a week, on average. Does a great job and sealing in the odors.
I would be lying of I said I knew the best litter to use for this. I don't want to spent a whole bunch of money on fancy litter, so right now I buy Dr. Elseys (you can buy off Amazon). There was someone who commented earlier who said they use a crystal type litter and it worked great. You can look through the comments and see.
The cat shouldn't be able to access the bag. The lid will be shut when the cat is using the litterbox and the litter catching tray will be over the bag. So unless your cat goes up and underneath the litter catching tray for some reason, the cat wouldn't have access to the bag at all.
No sense using a compost able bag if you’re putting chemicals in your litter to stop odour. Try baking soda and essential (cat safe) oil. Works wonders

I like you cause you seem Real AF! Honesty goes a long way in videos like this. Thx for the advice;)

The spray is PAM. It works really well. Sorry I omitted it from my original statement.
Oh good idea. The pam doesnt smell?

HAHAHA! Good luck to your fur baby and his weight loss journey! 😁

OMG You are amazing! Thank you so much for this video!
How do you keep the littermaid from making a knocking noise when it automatically closes the lid?
Hmm, I haven't attempted to prevent that so I'm not sure
See if you can put a screen on the front of the rake to help scoop small stuff.
Great idea!!

I also have 3 cats an one is starting to go outside the litter box when I forget to scoop and I need a solution
Does the white vinegar only work with clay type litter? I use Walnut litter and wondered if it would dissolve that too?
I am not sure since I've only ever had clay litter. Seems like the only way to find out is to try it out 🙂
Love your video. Could you provide a link for the bags?

She's adding the crystals to the bag not the litter in the box. So the bag ( and crystals) is covered when the cat is using..

In the bottom of the main box fit a doggie pee pad there and boom less clean up...just throw away the pad
Do you just use one Littermaid for your 3 cats or do you have a second one? How often do you need to change the bag with your three cats?

That may not work if the cat scratches the bag open only to wake up to see noting but litter all over the floor. I guess it depends on your cat.
The cat shouldn't be able to access the bag. The lid will be shut when the cat is using the litterbox and the litter catching tray will be over the bag. So unless your cat goes up and underneath the litter catching tray for some reason, the cat wouldn't have access to the bag at all.
What’s the point of this seems like it’s the same size as receptacle?
Bags are cheaper
