True !
Agreed!!!👍🇺🇸
pro trick : watch series on kaldrostream. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Carlos Bode yea, been using kaldrostream for since november myself :)
I’m sixteen and I just finished restoring my 1974 VW beetle! I’ve watched literally every single video on your channel, my mom thought was a waste of my time, but I thought the opposite! Thanks for being a huge influence on my life and my VW!!!
Thanks raptie that really makes us happy to hear!
Raptie where do live?
I live in Washington,
The state in which it rains and everything rusts!
well congrats you have won the Jer-Fab giveaway! please email us your address so we can send you your prize. VWLifeVW at Gmail.com
@@raptie2822 congrats you've won the Jer-Fab Giveaway from VW Life. Please email us at VWLifeVW at Gmail.com to claim your prize!
An older mechanic told me about 45 yrs ago that it's an engine not a motor .
You guys do a great job.
Thanks Ed!
I did the front end on my 1970 beetle in 1974 after a bad off roading experience. All these years later, It's the same operation!! Good things stay the same. Great job guys. (P.S. I did mine by myself in the back yard took me 7 1/2 hours, but came out solid, tracking right and bootiful)
Awesome!
"Us, Matt Jackson? ... You mean Me!.."
Absolutely love this Boootiful channel!
Thanks for all the inspiration VW Life!!
Glad to hear it giovan!
Just a great job on the new front beam, floor pan on the harvest beetle can't wait for the next video.
Awesome thanks Dennis!
I finally see somebody's doing the right thing on a battery pan usually I see people take a blowtorch to it doesn't anybody have a angle grinder by now nicely set in there and spot welded in different areas great job dudes
Thanks! We watched Chris Vallone and Mustie1 do it on their channels, Martin is a great welder
What a joy! A brandnew episode from the folks of VW Life. I‘ve been kind of waiting for new tales about the Harvest beetle since the great cleaning of the car. What I liked most this time was the awesome group spirit of you guys working in the shop. I wish I could have been there as well to give you a helping hand!
Awesome thanks for watching!
Love all the videos you guys have inspired me to get my own vw bus. I just love the people who drive them and can’t wait to get one of my own!!
That's awesome we are so glad to hear that! We hope you find a good one let us know how it goes
VW Life I hope it turns out good too and I will definitely send you guys some pictures
Great job on the Harvest beetle
Thanks Charlie!
Bugs, burgers and beers any day, any time! Heck, I'd give my eyeteeth to work with you guys!
Eyetheeth huh.? 😉👍Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much VW Life! So amazing and awesome job. Love it 👍😍
Our pleasure!
Nice job guys! That beam is sweet! Great video!
Thanks!
Great new beam. Can't wait for the next video. Daily drive my mexican beetle
Thanks that's awesome Gavin! Where are you located?
HAHA! Jake looked more like he was stealing those chairs!
Yeah we worried about people thinking that
Great Video! Can't wait to see it get completed
Thanks axel! Us too
‘Some people go golfin, some go huntin’, 😂 I’d pick working on my VWs instead, any day of the week!
Love watching these videos, I’m ashamed to admit I’ve been watching silently from a far over in England 🇬🇧 so I thought I’d speak to!
Nice to see what a good bunch of guys you are. Clearly all good friends with understanding wives!!!
Always makes me envious to see the projects you guys pick up over there in the dry states. Our roads are salted every winter and it’s hard to find a project car with a flaw at all, let alone one that just needs a battery tray!
Keep up the good work!
Ben 👍🏻
Thanks Ben! We're looking forward to seeing it complete. It should be awesome
Ben Haskins my bro also in TX...and his cars make me so jealous! They are perfect unlike my junk! Lol
I love this project, wish I had something to start with half as solid lolol!
You're doing a great job on Eleanor! Ignore the peanut gallery, you rock!
We agree!
Thanks well yeah, we don't have quite the fabrication skills or time for a major project that requires welding.
@@VWLifeVW I don't either! I just never get so lucky to find such an awesome car! Looking good dude! You'll have this together soon, I'll be coming to TX to see!
Y'all are great inspiration for guys like me who are currently working on their projects. The milk crate on a HF dolly is a great idea. The use of DE1635 spray paint is a great tip also. I just happen to be using it on my parts too!
Thanks Ray! Yep it's good paint
If were just a little bit closer I would offer my services as a painter....love the show, and I can't wait to see the harvest beetle complete!!!
Oh yeah you do auto body and paint? Got a shop?
@@VWLifeVW , sorry, no shop, just tools and skills....
You guys work well together looks like an awesome car to rebuild nice to have discs up front.
Thanks 👍
Nice job on the beam, Tommy-B-torque-wrench!
That's right Greg!
Great bunch of guys...
Hey we appreciate that thanks for watching!
Awesome job! love the team work and everyone working together to get the harvest bug done good job VW LIFE!!
Thanks, we are super excited to have Danzig actually watching our channel! We're long time fans 😁👍
That Jer-Fab beam looks great!! Gonna be a sweet ride for some lucky winner.
Yes sir good stuff!
Another great project. That awesome someone's gonna get a pretty cool jer-fab t-shirt
Yes indeed thanks!
I have the same jack stands I bought in Germany in the early eighties
Love the chair pickin part! That is soooo me😂 my poor little Mini Cooper never knows what to expect! But that’s why she has a roof rack! Lol HB lookin good!
Thanks!
Great job guys!! Really dig that front beam super cool and a little welding to boot!! Nice, she is coming along... :-)))
Thanks Jason! Yep it's a good beam
Awesome Video! I’m actually getting ready to tackle this with my 1961 Type 1. This is gonna be a great tool for reference. Thank you guys for posting 😎
Awesome glad to hear!
Nice team work.
Thanks!
nice!! can't wait to se it done.
Yep same here!
It's looking great fellows!
Thanks my man!
You guys are awesome! I wish I lived in Texas just so I can go to all of the VW shows you have down there!
Thanks James!
Just got my stickers from you guys. That was really quick. Thanks!
That's what she said!
Great show!
Thanks Brian! Appreciate that
Nice job! Love that beam, it looks really smart.
Yep it's a good one!
Great videos! I love watching the Harvest Bug coming together. I am learning allot about mine just watching your videos! I cant wait to see it. My 66 Bug is in paint and will hopefully be done by Harvest. I put it in before my deployment overseas, and will hopefully be done so as to attend my first Harvest in it!!! Just moved to the Austin area and bought my Bug over in Harker Heights Last June. I am living the Bug life vicariously through these videos, since I cant be around mine currently. Thank you so much for the great video work, VW knowledge, and general good time you are presenting. Looking forward to seeing the Harvest Bug and everyone else in Leander in October, with or without my Bug. -KDubKev
Kevin that's awesome! We hope to see you at the harvest
Excellent video. Realy helpful to me.
Glad to hear! Thank you
Love what you guys do! I plan on replacing the beam on my 61 11 window some time soon. Still have metal to replace ( dog legs and under the seam in the front ) I learned the wrench trick when I was a pipefitter.
Peace
John
Awesome John! Yeah these buses tend to rust out but if you take your time do it right you'll be happy in the long run good luck to you we hope it moves along swiftly
Looking bootyful guys! Keep it up. Love the channel I find myself waiting every Thursday morning lol
Thanks nick! Makes us want to try our best
You guys doing awesome!
That's gonna be a nice Bug!
Should be thanks
That jer - fab stuff looks cool 😎 ✌🏻
yeah it doesn't great work!
Hi folks! great videos! I think that on the manual says: ¨Passengers cars¨ because in German is:
"Personenkraftwagen" or pKw. It´s prob literally translated from German.
Ah interesting thanks for sharing!
You guy's are awesome. Nice vid
Thanks! How is the pnw?
@@VWLifeVW The pnw great right now. So much going on it's hard to get to it all lol.
Love to see the progess on this grusty beetle 🤣😉
Thanks!
Fascinating -
Often wonder the transformative impact to any auto’s life worldwide if metal types were somehow never impacted by what encourages and represents the ravages of rust over the last past multiple decades
Yeah totally!
I like what you guys do keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Daniel we really appreciate it!
You guys should think about investing in some inexpensive powder coating equipment. I added that to my home garage, and now in my shop, and talk about creating some nice durable finishes for parts like this. They end up looking amazing and it actually takes a little less time than letter paint dry.
How much is that setup?
@@VWLifeVW I purchased a low end kit from Eastwood, and it has worked really well. The have three different ones and I purchased the one in the middle, their PCs-250 dual voltage, and the small oven. The price is around $130 for the gun, and I'm not seeing the small oven I bought from them, but you can use any old oven. A used kitchen oven will work just as well as a special purpose powder coating oven.
I wish I closer. I would intern for free! Y'all work hard and enjoy a job well done
thanks Ivor!
awesome video again! loving the VW life all the way from the UK cheers
Thanks Justin! Really appreciate it..
No Jerk Fab beam is sweet! Is it really 4" narrower? That seems like a lot. Does the turning radius get bigger?
Not sure about the turning radius. Yes 4 inches! 👍😂
Smaller turn radius..
Working on what you love isn't work at all!! I love your comment "some people go golfing' and some people go hunting', we work on Volkswagens". That's booti-ful!
Thanks for Jillian! How's your beetle?
Nice 👍 I hope 🤞 one day I’ll get my bug and got travel everywhere 🤭🤭🤭
Do it! Thanks
ahh, 2019...those where good times...
Love the video...car is lookin good!!!
Thanks Paul!
@@VWLifeVW A sticker and shirt would be cool but I'm not very good at snarky comments.
I really like your optimism and videos. Maybe one day I will own one of these old gems. Snarky, Snarky Snarky for a shirt ,,,,,,
Lol thanks David! Let's find you a vw!
Love the efforts you're putting on those beauties !
Been working all weekend long on a '64 that's been 'refurbished' in the 90's : body parts changes to look younger : wings, engine lid, skirts, trunk lid, lights, ... from a '74 (who the Heck does that ??). Interior is refurbished with typical 90's fabrics, very colored ans geometric shapes oriented. No more original steeringwheel or shifter, and every single button or lever is painted flat purple... Eeerk !.
Exterior is bright 'barbie pink' but original color can be seen thru : blau see.
Still lot of work to do but a hell of a weekend with mates and a Beetle 😁
As usual, Big up and greetings from France !
Wow that sounds pretty cool actually. Are you going to Change it back to stock? Are you on instagram?
@@VWLifeVW : i''ll do my best to bring it back to it's original glory !
Maybe i''ll install some greater newer upgrade parts, to improve the driving experience, but nothing too radical.
Not on Instagram yet, maybe it's the right time to hop in
@@florentbarbare9983 do it, lots of cool VW stuff on there! good luck..
Can't wait to win this one! 😬
It is won't be long now
Number one fan....got a VW DNA in me
Very cool! VW life
Damn that car looks better than I do I guess I should get a reboot
Yes you should! 😉👍
Cool! Thanks guy! You Rock!
Thanks Wes!
I gotta question,my fan belt is pretty damn loose, and I have NO shims behind it...does that mean that my belt is stretched/ worn out? I have noticed it getting looser and looser just over a period of 2 weeks,I'm just looking for a solid straight answer, thanks guys! Ima' big fan of VW Life!
Sounds like it might be need to be replaced. Do you have the correct number of the shims?
Yes no shims inside the two half’s and loose belt would require a replacement.
Keep 8 shims in play weather on the inside or out or combo of the two
Ok,thanks guy...I have researched it a little bit,I just wanted to get advise from others, thanks! Much help!
I do have 8 shims..I'm really not sure how many I have on the outside...bout to leave wrk and check, thanks again
A good forum to be a part of is aircoolers.org. great people on there, many on here are AirCooler gang members.
Looking cool great channel
Thanks for John!
Well, I'm a XXL... probably shouldn't butter my pop tarts :)
Lol you could squeeze in!
Me: That's a great tip Tommie! Tommie: "That's what she said"
Tommiebsmith tech tip!
I love the roof rack on your bus! Where can I find one?!?
@bullidriversteelworks on instagram tell him #vwlife sent you
VW Life Thanks!!!!!
Hey Matt Jackson and VW Life guys. What are the milk crate dollys you use at the 11min mark in the video? Can you share your specs on those?
That's funny you mention that those are actually homemade. We bought the dollies at Harbor Freight and we zip tie them to milk crates and on top of the milk crates is a plank of wood with screws through it to hold it into the crate
VWLife is a must see channel for every VW but. I take an XML. We Cajuns know how to cook. Moe
You could squeeze into a xl! 😉👍
I have had 2 1967 AND 3 1968 VW Beetles and one i had a Porsche 911 engine in it and it did wheelies
Wow I bet that's cool!
From the looks of it, those chairs were only free because you stole them!😂
yeah it's funny, we thought people would think we are stealing them.
I'm just a bit curious, had the winner of the t-shirt already been choosen?
Yes thanks!
What else did you change having fitted a narrowed beam in place of a stock one?
We are changing the brakes as well. Moving to disc brakes
@@VWLifeVW I meant did you have to fit shorted track rods etc
Ah yes they come with the beam!
I'm gonna have to move back to Central TX if y'all keep this up. The PNW VW scene sucks and I miss y'all.
Yeah but weed is legal there!
Enjoyed this vid...........subscribing!👍🇺🇸
glad to hear it! :)
I just got myself a 66 transporter and i live here in south texas. I really want a roof rack and didnt know if yall had one for sale or know where to get one pretty cheap?
Look up EZ camper on the samba his name is bullidriversteelworks on instagram! Tell him we sent you
Congrats on the bus!
Thanks man, I hope to go to the swamp meet here in octobee
I need the XL for my new dad-bod! Baby is due on the 30th!

Thanks!
Where is that guy that knows CPR. The beetle could us some help! Das people car. Right on Red Rider!
Lol that's Mike! You like that guy? He's kind of weird
you guys are sort of like the amish building a barn
Yes we kind of are lol
Need a torque wrench guys ;-) I believe, if memory serves me correctly, the four beam bolts should be torqued to 80 ft. lbs.
Cool, thanks
Would love to see a front beam put into a bus plz.
Wow this is pretty remarkable week from today we are going to install it being in a bus believe it or not stay tuned
Some girls do makeup tutorials...I work on volkswagens😂
You're exfoliating pickle. Kind of the same thing 😃
@@VWLifeVW haha YES!
Who is the video editing guy? Is it Matt Jackson?
Yep
I hate to ask a STUPID QUESTION, But, Why did you guys replace that beam?????? I charge a $100 for one in the same condition in Wisconsin. We have rust issues where there is almost ZERO beam left!!!!
Not stupid. We are lowering the car. The best way to do this is to narrow the beam so that the front tires tuck under the fenders. The new beam is also adjustable. So we can adjust the leaf springs to raise or lower the front end to our liking.
@@VWLifeVWIn the Episode you guys never mentioned that that was a narrowed beam or why you were replacing it. Ship the old one to Wisconsin i can make a $100 !!!
@@gilbertnowak5770 okay what's the address? :)
@@VWLifeVW You know I was just Kiddiing Right? I really would like to head your direction and bring some rust free parts back here, I just may pack up my truck and head your direction this comming Winter.
BEAM ME UP JER-FAB....
Nanoo Nanoo
Man you guys do good work but I would love to see some longer videos 15 minutes just don't seem long enough,, by the time I get into your video the video has ended LOL, but love your videos love your kindness glad somebody is very passionate about Volkswagens I don't think the younger crew is too much don't think some of them know what a classic car really is these are getting to be worth more and more money every couple of years
Thanks! Yes we hope the younger crowd find a passion for vw's! As for longer videos, it's a balancing act. For example this video is about 15 minutes, the average view length is 8 minutes. So we have to keep it short and sweet.
It JER would be FAB to get me one of those Tee-Shirts
Haha
you guys need to get your cholesterol checked as many burgers as you eat! LOL
I know right?!
OMG TommieB !!!!!!!!!!!! Always Push A wrench never pull, especially when double wrenching. If the wrench slips your dentist gets a Trip to the Bahamas!!!!
