I have dealt with Max from Evaresto and he is truly the most knowledgeable and helpful bloke in the VW scene, and his air suspension kits are the best quality i have come across
So excited to see the EvaResto air ride go in the Auto Union. I recently received my air ride from Max for my ‘63 beetle. It will be a late summer project for me so I’m stoked to see the set up in the Auto Union. Cheers to EvaResto and Bagriders for great parts and great customer service. And thank you John for the inspiration.
Since it's just going to be trunk space, now that the engine is in the back, you can chop it up any way you need it to be. You just have to re-brace the area around the cut out. That is as long as it doesn't come out the top of the fender.😁
I love this aircooled channel! Also, I've never seen ANYTHING that's OEM safety wired on a beetle, but I have always done it any time I replace or upgrade anything on one of mine, granted I've never had one older than 67, so maybe the really old ones did. I sold a 67 beetle pan about 20 years ago or so, and I did the same safety wire through the bolts when I replaced the drum pads and wheel bearings. This one isn't by chance a 67 from Florida is it?
here's an idea 1st off not really a bug person , but the floor pan has those two main tubes "cradle" what if you took 1/4" plate and built a C Knoch up and over , giving you plenty of room then Cut out the bottom and the axle can swing down more than enough there's plenty of truck running around with C knoched frames
Check your air shock collapse length and size of tire. You can probably shrink your shock tower to clear the body as needed. I enjoy your channel. Easy watching.
Hey John big fan of the show! Probably a bit late as that beam has gone around the globe, and I'm not sure if it's been mentioned but you could run a single bag beam with no shock towers and there would be no need to cut the body up for those shock towers. Can't wait to see it on the floor!
VW stopped safety wiring the bolts in January 1960. They strated using bolts with thinner heads and no safety wire after that. Torque spec went up to 36 ft/lbs, too
2 variants . Air amortizator(soft) and special heawy strong oil amortizator. (Sport) Back time rebuild old VW passat b2 32 hatchback 1983 yr 1.6 petroil carborator model ...tuning soft air amortizator nja... cool but drive bad road not idea...😂 Use special sport versia oil amortizator . Good tuning variants. Drive city or offroad 😂hahaha
How long did it take to get your order from them ? I’ve been waiting over a month for my order and nothing so far . Sent an email a week ago for an eta and no reply.
Hey man. Sorry for this! I do emails a couple of times a week, my apologies if you’re waiting for an answer. Kits are taking 4-5 weeks to build at the moment since we have so many in build right now, and we make 95% of the parts in them ourselves. I’ll be catching up on some emails later on, if you don’t hear back please drop me another. Many thanks for your patience so far… Max
Great video John 😎 so so stoked to be helping you out here on this awesome build
My mate fitted an Everesto kit to his beetle. It was a work of art. Beautiful to fit and the communication from Max was fantastic. Quality all round.
Things I love to read! 😎 thank you man! Appreciate the kind words
@@eva_resto you're welcome fella. 👍🏻
Max’s communication is on point. He is so willing to answer any questions and give good recommendations for your build.

Wow awesome stuff
The old school VWs did come with safety wire in the bolts.
Best channel on RUclips just saying vw liferz 👽🤙🏼

That looks really well engineered, I’d love that on my beach buggy 👌
Absolutely the wire is stock in the backing plate bolts I’ve also ran into it a couple of times 👍🏻
Special air amortizator pump lifting no bad variants . Every old car tuning 😎👍.. but Hard andconfort us oil amortizator save car

Stay Wide 5 with the bolt pattern! Add a set of Appliance Wheels (Pacer)
Go with a single bag front beam without shocks.
So excited to see the progress! Hopefully you can overcome that little issue with finding room for the top of those beams lol! I believe!

That kit is insane! So excited to see it buttoned up
YES DUDE! LETS GO!!
DUDE I AM TRYING 😂
I needed this video a month ago😂 got myself a game-changer style suspension. Also rides great
Love the content man🤙🏻

Very exciting! Nice kit. I think I want to put air suspension on my 85 Pontiac 6000 wagon project.
Mate what a lovely kit ! Just a delight
Not yet managed to build anything with air ride , but if I did something like this would be a dream !
Absolutely fantastic! Totally digging the progress! Keep it up!!
MAAAAN that rear bolt on kit plus shipping isn't very expensive for what it is. I'm going to get it for my 59 Ghia!
That’s awesome!!
Would it be a good idea to wire wheel and paint everything on the Beetle pan before you start bolting the Everesto kit?
That’s exactly what I’m doing! As I mentioned, this was all just preliminary mock up!
Yes sir OEM same as my 60 beetle
If you want to try nice try a lime bug bolt on kit is the nicest thing iv ever seen
Call MacGyver(dad) he always finds away as long as I been watching you dad always finds a way to beat the odds and make it happen

You may have to go to a single bag on the side like most ppl do on beetles
Queria saber se esses modelos sao vw originais e o nome deles , aqui nu Brasil não temos esse modelo
How much it cost for the kit?
👌
Yeah, no. Someone went above and beyond to wire those front backing plate bolts.
