Dude. This was awesome and you crushed it, from the car to the episode. Definitely excited for the next episode. This is going to take this channel to the next level, I am confident. Just have to get eyeballs on the ep and the algo will do the work.
I really appreciate that, Mike. Thanks man! You know how difficult and long-winded this whole thing is. I appreciate the kind words of motivation, they are certainly needed often times haha
Great stuff, John. This is what we have been waiting for. Your other content is interesting, but this build is very cool and the process is what we crave.
@@JohnLudwick BTW, keeping the missteps (grounding the MIG and running our of wire) in your edit is a smart move. We appreciate the reality. If you'd left them out it removes the reality. And who hasn't grounded the welding tip and startled yourself? LOL.
Love these longer videos. I’m so glad Cory moved there because you guys make such a good team. And seeing him get more comfortable on camera over time is great. And in the gussets maybe the Ludwicks L in there
Spiderwebs make you a real hot rodder 🕸️🕷️😎 Man I wore steel toes as my daily for over a decade, found the cheapest no-name black leather hiking shoe and now its all I wear. Awesome work on the Auto union!
Hello, great I work! Question, by using heavier steel material/ Doesn't this defeat the cars race design? Why not leave the hole you filled in, stay open? The steel alone should provide the structure enough support. Keep up the great work, thx
I used to wear chucks at work...like for 20 years. Then last year I dropped something on my right foot. I almost lost my pinky toe. Now a wear composite toe shoes 😂😂😂😂
Finally getting into this build!!!! I can’t wait to see more braces and making sure everything is braced up. What are you going to do with all the rot around the rear? Patches? Or rocking it as is?
Thanks for all your time invested making the videos let alone doing the actual work. You have a great shop and your vehicle collection is Awesome! Can you tell me what music you are using for the intro to the show and during . I really like it. Keep up the good work!
Thats neat buddy, i took a 99 jaguar vanden plas and I made a full perimeter chassis for it, it was very hard but I got it and it is so much stronger now I never was a fan of unibody construction so I fixed this jaguar with a tubular frame it had massive rot in the framerails and it was the only way to fix it to be safe.
It's definitely a big step out of the way. Im jealous of the plasma cutter. I used to use them in a past job but on a much bigger scale for JCB parts, etc. Great pieces of kit.
My last job was in a small fab shop. Wore vans slip ons and shorts everyday. Now it's steel toes, pants, long sleeves and hard hat all day everyday. I miss burning tf out of my legs and feet 💔

Add the webbing but put speed hole to match factory ones
Maybe not a spiderweb, but most definitely some sort of geometric design .
Yes!
Gussets w auto union logo
Favorite episode so far on the channel, so much big progress on the 1000SP!
Cut your logo into the gusset plates.
Why not cut the Audi logo into the gussets? Or at least the VW Autogroup sign or something.
Open RUclips to this posted 1 minute ago 😀
Hahaha yes man!!

Spiderwebs... calm down Gotham Garage 😂
😂😂😂😂
Bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla?

Awesome work on the Auto union!
I commented too early… I LOVE PLUG WELDS!!!!
Interesting watching you engineer solutions that preserve structure and integrity
I ruined a lot of nice DCs while welding 😂
😂😂😂

Love this car, reminds me of 55 to 57 tbirds
They’re actually known as the “baby thunderbird” because of the resemblance of a 57 T bird!

In a car body that looks like it should be infested with spiders, a web patterned gusset would not be inappropriate. [IMO]

Really good build, mister! Very enjoyable viewing.
When you're done with fabrication I seen this really cool thing you can do to the car where they sandblasted and then powder coated with primer.
Cnc spider web would make it 21% stronger.
weld in shorts & converse hi-tops with no socks. it can be a.. painful experience.
That's a pretty cool body style for A car body okay thanks Charles Williams later on jelly beans for real now you hear
As funny as a spiderweb would be I’d do speedholes/dimple dies to tie in with the car. Great progress! Keep plugging away at it.
Right now, this is my favorite build on all of the channels I follow!
That seriously means SO much to me, man! Thank you!
Nice one John, have you seen what we’re up to at the minute. ? 😳
You should have used Ghia pans and heater channels. Could have saved so much work.
Big fan, love the build.
YOU PROBLEY GOTEN AWAY WITH 1/16 STEEL ON THE MOUNTS LOL
Didn't like that "Oh No" at the end when trying to fit the rims.
Omg what a mess around . Drill a hole and cut the plate with a sliting disc
Dude I’m sold I’m coping for my a body elco
I always forget and leave my damn crocs on when I weld 🙃
So is it final that you aren't cutting the bottom half of the sills off?
Stoked on this build it’s gonna be sick!
Vans half cabs better ankle protection
It needs the audi logo in the brace
Does he have a merch store? If yes, where?
This part the channel I like❤
I weld in flip flops all the time
Nice fab and welds on the rear body mounts! Love that you pre-pro in cardboard with the laser.
Thanks Robert! It’s honestly such an awesome tool to have simply for that process!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
So good! Awesome progress
Watching the parts go from templates to the final piece is so satisfying.
Yes to the
spiderweb
Awesome work Guys! Great to see this finally connected!!
Thanks Lee!
Baddass man

@7:00 honeycomb
Sell the rust!😂
Hell yess
Damn man. It’s getting real!!! I
Getting 700 build series vibes again!!! This is rad!
My last job was in a small fab shop. Wore vans slip ons and shorts everyday. Now it's steel toes, pants, long sleeves and hard hat all day everyday. I miss burning tf out of my legs and feet 💔
Love the longer video with build content
Thanks man!
Finally some real progress! Excited to see this project going!
You guys make complex tasks look easy. Compliments! 🛠🏆
This episode is hands down one of my favorites. Hard to put into words. Love the progress!!
Love to see this thing coming together! Great fabrication content 👌🏻
Total “Fight Club” vibes with that wing 😂
Good progress for this episode for sure.
