- Let's just say, you didn't know any better....but, you were Bamboozled. "Stock Bearing equipped axle beams are the best!" they said. They were wrong.
If we maintained our vintage vehicles like we would die if we didn't, our Vintage VW's would be damn near perfect. But I can tell you just by experience, this is NOT the case. Maybe 5-8% tried to do it, others just ran it until a problem existed. Why do I bring this up? Now? Today?
Control arms are not reproduced like some aftermarket parts are so we can only rebuild front suspensions with what we have or can find. And, most have wear. How many of us are rebuilding the control arms like a machine shop rebuilds rods or a crankshaft? NO ONE. So using a worn set of rods or crankshaft would be sacrilege, right?
This is why Airkewld uses D E L R I N. It is kind of like cutting board material. Super slick, wear resistant and can utilize worn control arms and function damn near perfectly. Bearing equipped beams......? NOPE. Axial deflection is a thing and contributes to steering wheel play, control when driving, stopping, turning and more.

Great explanation. I use acetal copolymer, similar to delrin for trailing arm bushings. Tried UHMW but, it was too soft and can swell when wet. Nylon may be another option. You are correct, the trailing arms should be concentric to the mating front beam bearings. Axial load on the needle bearings can cause premature wear however, the trailing arms only oscillate but, a misalignment will be present.

I'm glad someone else heard that music I thought my phone had a virus.
I've been running the polyurethane for that reason but that was before delrin started being available. May have to order some in the near future.

No sorry. Too many dimensions and tubing options to make them for every option.

Hey Mike, thanks for the comment. We do not, mostly because all beams are different ID's, we would have to make several, not something that we want to undertake.
But you don't sell them on there own, you have to buy a Beam to get those ?
Correct. Too many variations for us to make them fit and OEM set up. We control the tube, we control the bushing, it works every time.
