I don't know if it was a glitch of my game, but when child Mortimer reads "Where's Bella" and "Murder in Pleasantview" he stops reading a lot of times and his fun doesn't increase. It doesn't happen with other books.
Seems kind of fishy that the sims devs are claiming this ISN'T canon, even though they went through all this trouble to add easter eggs like that to the game o.O
I personally think that when Bella was abducted in the Sims2, the aliens traveled back in time with Bella to the Sims3 so that they couldn’t be followed. This was when they began cloning her. But one clone, however, somehow escaped and accidentally traveled into that same time machine back into the Sims2. The clone then settled in Strangetown. After years and years of being cloned a concerning amount of times, plus living in an environment she wasn’t built for, the original Bella Goth’s body gradually changed and grew sickly overtime. Eventually, she died. This is my theory on why there’s a second Bella in the Sims3 Lunar Lakes, and why there’s a clone of her in Strangetown.
Omg i felt like i was watching some type of Oscar winning movie. I mean honestly this was the best video I've ever seen about Bella and her family. This makes me wanna buy all the sims games just to see the mystery. I rlly hope EA decides to continue the mystery of Bella goth!!!

in my legacy challenge in sims 4. my settings were set to other sims in the game would age overtime. The goth family all aged besides Bella. Even after my sixth generation she was still a young adult. Hm.
The sims 4 *has never* and *will never* have as much lore as the previous games. Now I know the Sims 4 is an alternate universe and I believe they tried to market it as “create your own memories” but they did a shit job at that because that could’ve opened up the potential for SO MUCH LORE, especially for people who don’t like to create their own timelines and story lines

I mean Bella Goth, and the Goth Family in general is truly an icon. Bella herself is an icon, a Queen and we wanna know what happened to her since there are a lot of holes to fill up between the time she got abducted & died on Lunar Lakes.

The sims 3 lunar lakes one is my favorite. It’s so,, scary. Seeing her rotten corpse is even worse when you ressurect her because you’re bringing back a person that’s been dead for hundreds of years. Adding on to this, THE SCARIEST PART ABOUT THIS, Bella may have been tortured in lunar lakes, and that’s why she looks so malnourished.
There's an easter egg in Sims 3: Showtime which suggests that Bella was worshipped as "Empress Bella Goth" by the aliens who abducted her...which is possibly how she lived out the rest of her life in Lunar Lakes. This only makes it creepier, because it's possible that whatever form of "worship" the aliens performed may have harmed her and caused her altered appearance.
In the sims 3 there is a book called Murder in Pleasantview written by Alexander Goth, and since his parents were still children in that game there is a theory that Alexander used a time portal or time machine to investigate the disappearance of his mother, and maybe the reason the Sims 4 is set in an alternate universe is because he saved his mother and changed the reality, like some kind of butterfly effect
Knowledge sims get positive memories when they (or someone in the family) is abducted by aliens, so it's only expected Mortimer's memory is positive as well.
@Yuna NosTale actually you can assume that... the sims 2 wasn't that mastermind of storytelling and continuity, it 100% was just because maxis forgot to change it to negative and all knowledge sims have it as positive there's a shit ton of mistakes maxis did in sims 2, I mean they treated strangetown bella like she was the *true* bella and didn't even bother to clone her appearance using the body shop or whatever tool they had and there's also clones of nervous subject, skip broke and michael bachelor on the game files lol, olive specter doesn't even remember giving birth to the true nervous subject, she remembers the beta clone one

The reason the storytelling in The Sims 2 is so great in spite of the tools being quite simplistic is because nothing is explicitly stated or spelled out, but there’s just enough clues scattered throughout the different households for the player to draw their own conclusions and theories. A lot of weird sh1t went down in Pleasantview: Skip Broke’s “accidental” drowning, Bella’s disappearance, Dina and Nina being alien hybrids, and let’s not forget all the clones of certain Sims that appear in memories/family albums (most of which have had their character files deleted during the development).
Wait- the reason why bella looks different in strange town is because that's the version you encounter in the sims 2 for psp! the psp version is more of a story driven game but you encounter bella at the beginning and she tells you she got abducted and is trying to find her way back home. you also unlock 3 secrets of hers by doing a friendly, romantic and mean interaction where she spills some tea about her and mortimer which can explain his positive memory to her abduction.
I'm so confused, I remember playing this as a kid but I had memories of playing Bella in Pleasantview and the game prompt me to have Bella use the telescope which soon went to a cutscene of her getting abducted. I remember because that scene scarred me, I waited for her to return (like they usually do when sims get abducted) but she never did. It really scared me because I thought the game broke or something but I couldn't find Bella at all. So playing the sims 2 again really confused me because Bella was already gone in the Goth household.
I also vividly remember playing as Bella (in Strangetown, though) and her never returning after getting abducted. But the Sims 2 released when I, myself, was 2, so I just assumed I misremembered something.

I found a Theory online. Bella Goth was dead in Luna Lakes, but of old age right? If Mortimer was a lot older than Bella either by natural causes, or by his science project, it's not likely that Matilde Goth would've been alive at the time if she was Mortimer's older sister. When Bella went missing, she got a lot of attention, and I think it's pretty obvious the Aliens are working against Bella, and was sent by either the Calienté sisters or by Mortimer Goth. Maybe Mortimer or the Calienté sisters wanted to make a Clone of Bella, and send the clone back to earth in order to cover up what really happened, and get rid of unwanted attention around her. But unfortunately for them, the cloning experiment went wrong because Bella was pregnant and there for, the aliens dumped her in Luna Lakes where she lived the rest of her life with her daughter. Another thing I'm wondering, is if Matilde wasn't Mortimer's child, but could've belonged to Don Lothario.
Matilde also looks a LOT like Bella, just blue instead of red. It would be uncanny (and kind of weird) if Mortimer married a women that looks so similar to his sister.
Storywise it is still peculiar that he was happy about it. Though I’m pretty sure the sims team for TS2 may have overlooked that (Btw I’m not saying that they did that on purpose, alternatively I think that because they were making all the content the team probably did not think about that when making the game at that time).

An interesting quirk in my Sims 4 game: with the story progression I wasn't playing the Goth household, but my Sim recommended to Bella that she have another baby. Without my interfering she had a boy and named him Michael, after her brother perhaps?
Eh Sims 4 is alternate universe. The very same one which is caused by actions of Alexander Goth I imagine. Alexander was time travelling in 1-3 timeline, hence odd books in 3's eerily resembling story of Bella's abduction. He was trying to prevent Goth's family falling apart. Sims 4 is more or less a sad, alternate reality of past games Alexander hopes and dreams. The hope that through his time travelling actions, somewhere somehow there in timeline there is a little Alexander surrounded by happy family. Not Goth's marriage falling apart, gold digger sister-in-law setting herself on Mortimer, none womanizer trying to woo Bella and neither is Cassandra engaged to said womanizer. If you meddle in timeline ... you always change the timeline. And Alexander wanted to change A LOT to prevent future from happening. Story of 1-3 was erased and replaced with that version. And while original Alexander probably did managed to return to his correct time version, married some girl (Cecilia ?) family told him to and probably lived to old age in his mediocre profitable marriage, he wouldn't regret it because of Sims 4 hope. The hope that he prevented another version of him from having their life ruined. Somewhere there is better reality for Goth's, and maybe even for other families. It would be difficult to say how long in past Alexander travelled to prevent all of this. We probably would have to look at details that changed in all families to know exactly where did meddling started. I suspect he would change Goth's, Kaliente's and Lothario's pasts to fully prevent future. The good ending for Goth family by lore, is basically to erase Goth's history past Sims 1 from lore.
i prefer the theory that Alexander went back in time and changed history. It would make sense too. my headcanon is he became obsessed with Sim World/Sixam/Space relations when he got older and maybe traveled to Lunar Lakes as an adult and that's where he discovered the truth about what happened to his mother, that she died naturally on an alien world after being abducted and taken there. Up until then Mortimer had always told him that Bella was murdered or died when Alex was a baby because Mortimer was ashamed of his minor involvement in the truth. After learning the truth, he figures out how to build a time machine and goes back in time to the events right before Sims 2, is able to somehow stop Bella - who is pregnant with Alexander in her time - from going to Don's house and getting abducted. The aliens, one of them being Dina and Nina's grandfather, encountered Mortimer while Mortimer was working as a mad scientist. Mortimer offended them with his experiments, especially after he stole a youth serum that had been created by alien technology to work on by himself, and this was their revenge plan. The Calientes' alien grandfather knew that his granddaughter Nina was involved with a man who lived in Pleasantview, nearby to the Goths, and also discovered that by pure chance, Dina had very recently married the aging Michael Bachelor and was now Bella's sister in law. He asked Nina to convince Don to seduce Bella so that the aliens could come and kidnap her as revenge for Mortimer's theft. Nina was loyal to her family and agreed. Dina, who had squandered the little money she inherited after Michael's death (unfortunately for Dina, he decided to leave most of his money to his sister and the rest of his extended family), decided with Nina to expand the plan. They planned to move to Pleasantview once Bella was out of the way, so Dina could seduce Mortimer herself and get some of that money in her pockets. Nina is of course unaware that Dina has been going behind her back with Don, but that's their problem and unrelated to the plan, but she figures if Don seduces and marries Cassandra and they made Cassandra "disappear" just like they did with Bella, both Don and Nina would be able to enjoy the inheritance once Mortimer died of old age. Alexander disguised himself as a repairman, set a fire or shocked himself while repairing something, and Bella was too distracted at home dealing with this and cancelled her plans to see Don. After the plan fell through, the Calientes refused to leave Oasis Springs for Pleasantview out of fear that their connection to both the Bachelors and the aliens would be discovered, so Don left for Oasis Springs to live with the Calientes. The only thing I can't explain is why Dina's a teenager in Sims 4, unless she married Michael when she was 18 and he died like... a month later. The Sims 4 "alternate universe" is really just the alternate timeline that Alexander created by ensuring Bella never got abducted. After Bella narrowly escapes abduction, Future Alex tells Past Mortimer about what could happen if Mortimer doesn't stop messing with the aliens with his mad scientist career. Mortimer quits and focuses on his true passion that he shares with his son, writing. Bella gives birth to Alex later on, and the Goths leave for Willow Creek to get a fresh start and a more "conventional" life, and Future Alex returns to his own timeline, aka Alex as an adult in Sims 2. Because Bella was never abducted, relations between the Sims and the aliens remained civil and they allowed for more free communication, hence why space is more accessible in Sims 4.

Oh man. As a newcomer, i was honestly like... "Bella who?" when i found her on Sims 4. I maximized the friendship and the romance bars with her untill i realized she was married (i'm an idiot), at that point, to follow the roleplay, i decided that my Sim would break up with her and never disturb her family (my Sim has the Good trait). After watching this video, specially the Sims 2 part, i regret doing it. Even tho this isn't really canon on Sims 4, screw it, i would have called the husband to my house and locked him into the pool if i knew that earlier. Also, Alexander is a little big chad.
in sims 2 psp it takes place in strangetown and you can actually find bella goth at the convenience store at the beginning of the game. she goes on about aliens and alien abductions, panicked and all. she eventually would offer you her house in strangetown (for all the money you have, depends on how much you have on you when you decide to purchase). her house is haunted, though. so, beware! there’s a bunch of minigames at strangetown (the furthest i got was dealing w a zombie infestation and running suspicious errands for people). never finished as i played it when i was younger and got bored w it.
Actually it's not really suspicious that Mortimer has a positive memory of Bella being abducted because he's a knowledge sim and those sims are really interested in stuff like that
To Mortimer's defense, knowledge sims are known to get positive memories from family members getting abducted by aliens. Also might've been overlooked by Maxis.
No that last theory is on point. Because you see the funny thing about time traveling is that, if you tamper with a timeline, it’ll likely not effect YOUR timeline, destiny is already set in that universe. But, what Mortimer did likely created a new timeline, an alternate reality, that branched out into what we know as the sims 4. So even if he couldn’t bring his mom back in his universe, Mortimer time traveling caused the sims 4 to exist and allowed Bella to exist there. :)
But what if: the sims 4 is located some months/years before the sims 2 happened? Cassandra is still a teen and mortimer looks a little bit younger than the one in the sims 2.... So maybe in sims 4 Bella's disappearing has to happen in the future and they give us strangerville with all the aliens stuff as an inch? Sorry for the bad english

So crazy how obsessed I was with all of those games. Sims 2 was such an incredible game because of the storylines. I miss the mystery so much. I forgot about how the sims 2 looked & the graphics were definitely not that bad back then.. I do wish they could’ve Expanded these stories into the sims 4… I still play all the time but it doesn’t have that same feeling as before. Still love it tho!
I was relatively young when ts2 was at it's height. I only played it once or twice at friends' houses, so I never got too deep into it. I was 12 when ts3 released and that was my first sims game to own. So, like with ts3 and ts4, was it possible to move sims families to new towns? Even the EA-made sim households? If so, has anyone tried moving the Pleasantview Goths to Strange Town to see what happens if they bump into that version of Bella?
Hi there! In the Sims 2 you couldn't move households between worlds as far as I know. so It was wouldn't have been possible to do that unless you are using some kind of software or cheats to do it.
i lovee your channel ! this video was so interesting & i have never played the other sims games but they seem to have a better storyline than the sims 4, the sims 4 had such a great setup for a good storyline and an open world & they just threw it all away, but u definitely need more subscribers asap .
Thank you for explaining all this story, I´ve heard lots of things about Bella Goth's disappearance, and I was so confused, but I finally realized her name was changed in the Spanish version (which I play) as "Elvira Lápida", and her maiden's name also changed to "De la Soledad". Even Mortimer's name changed to Homero, which I think is a hint to Gomez Addams (also called "Homero" in the Spanish dubbing).... Hell, this is confusing! Why do they change the names?
I never even knew the sims had stories like this, (could be because I never played Sims 2) but this is very interesting to me. Also I started playing my Sims 3 pets game on my PS3 again and after watching this video I noticed my sim was reading a book called “Where’s Bella” i never would’ve realized the book was about one of the game’s characters if i didn’t watch this
I’ve been playing the Sims like 20years and I’ve never paid attention to the stories. I always like to do my own thing when i play.But I knew there was some kind of lore behind the game From the Goths, Caliente, Landgraab etc. The Sims 4 version of the Goth family is my favorite, but this will be my first time sitting down and listening to the story behind them.

That’s what I originally thought because (not sure I can’t remember that much) she’s got certain traits that would be typical for a gold digger wife. I can’t remember if I’m mixing another wife and husband sims and the Goths but I think that’s it. (Sims 4) I’ve never played any other sims games though either so seeing sims 1 2 was hella weird 😂
You know, when I first started playing The Sims franchise, I never knew that Bella Goth had existed. My first Sims was the Sims 3 on console. When I first saw Bella Goth in The Sims 4, I couldn't help but get Morticia Addams vibes, because she has a gothic and glamorous sense of style and has a rather outlandish life. Not to mention She and Morticia have 2 children with their husbands. Now that I've gotten to know Bella's life story, I am deeply fascinated and enchanted with Bella Goth! 💕 I can see why people love the lore in The Sims Franchise. It's so fascinating! I really hope Bella Goth is in The Sims 5! ❤️

I just recently discovered your channel and every video is awesome so far, still have ways to go until I'm caught up. The Goth family was also in The Sims Bustin' Out and no children. Bella was in the Movie Star career and Mortimer was a Mad Scientist. That was a good game on the PS 2.
People really overlook the sims 2 for psp. It continues the story of Bella after she’s abducted by aliens. She bought a house that was haunted and you find her in a gas station where you also Learn secrets from her based off the game mechanics where she admitted she only married for money

I love that what was intended to be a bit of a guide on how you could create your own stories in this new-fangled Sims 2 game turned into one of the biggest features of the entire Sims series. They accidentally caught lightning in a bottle, and here we are, still talking about it almost 20 years later.

But no one questions the painting, she’s literally white in the painting. That’s not her. Not only is the sims 4 set in another reality but they’re a lot younger...

My guess is that Dina wanted Bella’s husband due to his richness. But instead went for her brother. I would say Dina only married Bella’s brother so she could possibly get closer to Bella, and figure a way for Mortimer and Bella to divorced. This obviously didn’t work since Dina’s husband ended up dying. There’s a chance that Dina only used Don the whole time by being part of his affairs. Dina used him to shift the blame for Bella disappearance by having Bella over at his house(by convincing him obviously). Since Dina is related to aliens, she could have told the aliens to take bella. Resulting in her own plan working, since she’s now with Mortimer. Im pretty sure this theory was already made up, but it’s just something i wanted to point out as well here.
Now there IS the lore that ties into the Alexander theory, with the new update to the sims 4 with the makeover of the Goth family. In their bio it mentions that Bella DID go missing, but suggests that she was rescued but it took a big toll on the family, Alexander and Cassandra specifically
i think it does still fit with EA saying sims 4 exists in an alternate timeline, where alexander goth created this au with his time travel, even if sims 5 has a diffrent explanation for bellas disapearance, ts4 is outside of that, in a world created by Alexander
there was also another sims game, sims 3 pets for xbox 360. one of my favorite games ever, but in the game bella was all alone in her household and had a cat and she wasn’t rich at all. it was a tiny home she lived in, 2 floors one bedroom, one bathroom. she was my favorite character, but i had no idea abt her story.
Wow this video was amazing this channel is hardly underrated ! But to be honest I love the fan theory it really makes sense to me. I mean sure the creators of the sims 4 told us that it doesn’t fit in the storyline but who knows if the sims 4 world is even real. Ok this part is gonna be a conspiracy theory but that’s just to much fun haha. Like for example all the memories are gone and the gots are living their best lives. The Caliente sisters are living with Don Lothario but no one of them is as far as I know related to any aliens I mean the family tree is sadly missing too. But the whole world is just less complex. Like an idealized world of young Alexander who’s probably dreaming about a better life haha. I mean i know it’s more than unlikely but thinking about it was very fun. And btw sorry for all the mistakes but since I’m from Germany I still do some Mistakes. Have a good day !

Yeah, Sims don't really have "genetics" in the first game. If you make two adults they can't be selected as any relation or anything. All you can do is write it in the bio if you want. Same with kids, you make them a child it won't be theirs outside of any bio. The only so called genetics is when two Sims do have a child in game together. So yeah, I guess check the bio for anything. Not that I've read those in years so I dunno what they say. I just know that they don't have genetics. And whatever is written in the bio doesn't stop them romancing each other.
This was pretty great! My life was SO busy at the time I never actually played 2 and went from 1 to 3. I had no idea the Caliente sisters were alien!! SO good, I'm going to sort through and see if you've done these for anyone else!!

After years and years of being cloned a concerning amount of times, plus living in an environment she wasn’t built for, the original Bella Goth’s body gradually changed and grew sickly overtime. Eventually, she died.
This is my theory on why there’s a second Bella in the Sims3 Lunar Lakes,
and why there’s a clone of her in Strangetown.

Now I know the Sims 4 is an alternate universe and I believe they tried to market it as “create your own memories” but they did a shit job at that because that could’ve opened up the potential for SO MUCH LORE, especially for people who don’t like to create their own timelines and story lines

The sims 3 lunar lakes one is my favorite. It’s so,, scary. Seeing her rotten corpse is even worse when you ressurect her because you’re bringing back a person that’s been dead for hundreds of years.
Adding on to this, THE SCARIEST PART ABOUT THIS, Bella may have been tortured in lunar lakes, and that’s why she looks so malnourished.

There's an easter egg in Sims 3: Showtime which suggests that Bella was worshipped as "Empress Bella Goth" by the aliens who abducted her...which is possibly how she lived out the rest of her life in Lunar Lakes. This only makes it creepier, because it's possible that whatever form of "worship" the aliens performed may have harmed her and caused her altered appearance.
In the sims 3 there is a book called Murder in Pleasantview written by Alexander Goth, and since his parents were still children in that game there is a theory that Alexander used a time portal or time machine to investigate the disappearance of his mother, and maybe the reason the Sims 4 is set in an alternate universe is because he saved his mother and changed the reality, like some kind of butterfly effect

Knowledge sims get positive memories when they (or someone in the family) is abducted by aliens, so it's only expected Mortimer's memory is positive as well.

there's a shit ton of mistakes maxis did in sims 2, I mean they treated strangetown bella like she was the *true* bella and didn't even bother to clone her appearance using the body shop or whatever tool they had
and there's also clones of nervous subject, skip broke and michael bachelor on the game files lol, olive specter doesn't even remember giving birth to the true nervous subject, she remembers the beta clone one

The reason the storytelling in The Sims 2 is so great in spite of the tools being quite simplistic is because nothing is explicitly stated or spelled out, but there’s just enough clues scattered throughout the different households for the player to draw their own conclusions and theories. A lot of weird sh1t went down in Pleasantview: Skip Broke’s “accidental” drowning, Bella’s disappearance, Dina and Nina being alien hybrids, and let’s not forget all the clones of certain Sims that appear in memories/family albums (most of which have had their character files deleted during the development).

Wait- the reason why bella looks different in strange town is because that's the version you encounter in the sims 2 for psp! the psp version is more of a story driven game but you encounter bella at the beginning and she tells you she got abducted and is trying to find her way back home. you also unlock 3 secrets of hers by doing a friendly, romantic and mean interaction where she spills some tea about her and mortimer which can explain his positive memory to her abduction.

Another theory I came up with (before the Sims team said anything) was that the TS4 Goth family was Bella’s “paradise” after she died.
I'm so confused, I remember playing this as a kid but I had memories of playing Bella in Pleasantview and the game prompt me to have Bella use the telescope which soon went to a cutscene of her getting abducted. I remember because that scene scarred me, I waited for her to return (like they usually do when sims get abducted) but she never did. It really scared me because I thought the game broke or something but I couldn't find Bella at all. So playing the sims 2 again really confused me because Bella was already gone in the Goth household.

I found a Theory online. Bella Goth was dead in Luna Lakes, but of old age right? If Mortimer was a lot older than Bella either by natural causes, or by his science project, it's not likely that Matilde Goth would've been alive at the time if she was Mortimer's older sister. When Bella went missing, she got a lot of attention, and I think it's pretty obvious the Aliens are working against Bella, and was sent by either the Calienté sisters or by Mortimer Goth. Maybe Mortimer or the Calienté sisters wanted to make a Clone of Bella, and send the clone back to earth in order to cover up what really happened, and get rid of unwanted attention around her. But unfortunately for them, the cloning experiment went wrong because Bella was pregnant and there for, the aliens dumped her in Luna Lakes where she lived the rest of her life with her daughter. Another thing I'm wondering, is if Matilde wasn't Mortimer's child, but could've belonged to Don Lothario.
Matilde also looks a LOT like Bella, just blue instead of red. It would be uncanny (and kind of weird) if Mortimer married a women that looks so similar to his sister.

Storywise it is still peculiar that he was happy about it. An interesting quirk in my Sims 4 game: with the story progression I wasn't playing the Goth household, but my Sim recommended to Bella that she have another baby. Without my interfering she had a boy and named him Michael, after her brother perhaps?

Eh Sims 4 is alternate universe. The very same one which is caused by actions of Alexander Goth I imagine. Alexander was time travelling in 1-3 timeline, hence odd books in 3's eerily resembling story of Bella's abduction. He was trying to prevent Goth's family falling apart. Sims 4 is more or less a sad, alternate reality of past games Alexander hopes and dreams.
The hope that through his time travelling actions, somewhere somehow there in timeline there is a little Alexander surrounded by happy family. Not Goth's marriage falling apart, gold digger sister-in-law setting herself on Mortimer, none womanizer trying to woo Bella and neither is Cassandra engaged to said womanizer. If you meddle in timeline ... you always change the timeline.
And Alexander wanted to change A LOT to prevent future from happening.
Story of 1-3 was erased and replaced with that version. And while original Alexander probably did managed to return to his correct time version, married some girl (Cecilia ?) family told him to and probably lived to old age in his mediocre profitable marriage, he wouldn't regret it because of Sims 4 hope.
The hope that he prevented another version of him from having their life ruined. Somewhere there is better reality for Goth's, and maybe even for other families. It would be difficult to say how long in past Alexander travelled to prevent all of this. We probably would have to look at details that changed in all families to know exactly where did meddling started.
I suspect he would change Goth's, Kaliente's and Lothario's pasts to fully prevent future.
The good ending for Goth family by lore, is basically to erase Goth's history past Sims 1 from lore.
I am so sad that Sims 4 lacks a little bit of the story behind everything :(
i prefer the theory that Alexander went back in time and changed history. It would make sense too.
my headcanon is he became obsessed with Sim World/Sixam/Space relations when he got older and maybe traveled to Lunar Lakes as an adult and that's where he discovered the truth about what happened to his mother, that she died naturally on an alien world after being abducted and taken there. Up until then Mortimer had always told him that Bella was murdered or died when Alex was a baby because Mortimer was ashamed of his minor involvement in the truth. After learning the truth, he figures out how to build a time machine and goes back in time to the events right before Sims 2, is able to somehow stop Bella - who is pregnant with Alexander in her time - from going to Don's house and getting abducted.
The aliens, one of them being Dina and Nina's grandfather, encountered Mortimer while Mortimer was working as a mad scientist. Mortimer offended them with his experiments, especially after he stole a youth serum that had been created by alien technology to work on by himself, and this was their revenge plan. The Calientes' alien grandfather knew that his granddaughter Nina was involved with a man who lived in Pleasantview, nearby to the Goths, and also discovered that by pure chance, Dina had very recently married the aging Michael Bachelor and was now Bella's sister in law. He asked Nina to convince Don to seduce Bella so that the aliens could come and kidnap her as revenge for Mortimer's theft. Nina was loyal to her family and agreed. Dina, who had squandered the little money she inherited after Michael's death (unfortunately for Dina, he decided to leave most of his money to his sister and the rest of his extended family), decided with Nina to expand the plan. They planned to move to Pleasantview once Bella was out of the way, so Dina could seduce Mortimer herself and get some of that money in her pockets. Nina is of course unaware that Dina has been going behind her back with Don, but that's their problem and unrelated to the plan, but she figures if Don seduces and marries Cassandra and they made Cassandra "disappear" just like they did with Bella, both Don and Nina would be able to enjoy the inheritance once Mortimer died of old age.
Alexander disguised himself as a repairman, set a fire or shocked himself while repairing something, and Bella was too distracted at home dealing with this and cancelled her plans to see Don. After the plan fell through, the Calientes refused to leave Oasis Springs for Pleasantview out of fear that their connection to both the Bachelors and the aliens would be discovered, so Don left for Oasis Springs to live with the Calientes. The only thing I can't explain is why Dina's a teenager in Sims 4, unless she married Michael when she was 18 and he died like... a month later.
The Sims 4 "alternate universe" is really just the alternate timeline that Alexander created by ensuring Bella never got abducted. After Bella narrowly escapes abduction, Future Alex tells Past Mortimer about what could happen if Mortimer doesn't stop messing with the aliens with his mad scientist career. Mortimer quits and focuses on his true passion that he shares with his son, writing. Bella gives birth to Alex later on, and the Goths leave for Willow Creek to get a fresh start and a more "conventional" life, and Future Alex returns to his own timeline, aka Alex as an adult in Sims 2. Because Bella was never abducted, relations between the Sims and the aliens remained civil and they allowed for more free communication, hence why space is more accessible in Sims 4.
Honestly someone should beg the sims team to just give us the story , btw , i never played other sims games , only the sims 4 so i didnt know a thing about Bella ...

Oh man. As a newcomer, i was honestly like... "Bella who?" when i found her on Sims 4.
I maximized the friendship and the romance bars with her untill i realized she was married (i'm an idiot), at that point, to follow the roleplay, i decided that my Sim would break up with her and never disturb her family (my Sim has the Good trait). After watching this video, specially the Sims 2 part, i regret doing it. Even tho this isn't really canon on Sims 4, screw it, i would have called the husband to my house and locked him into the pool if i knew that earlier.

in sims 2 psp it takes place in strangetown and you can actually find bella goth at the convenience store at the beginning of the game. she goes on about aliens and alien abductions, panicked and all. she eventually would offer you her house in strangetown (for all the money you have, depends on how much you have on you when you decide to purchase). her house is haunted, though. so, beware! there’s a bunch of minigames at strangetown (the furthest i got was dealing w a zombie infestation and running suspicious errands for people). never finished as i played it when i was younger and got bored w it.
Actually it's not really suspicious that Mortimer has a positive memory of Bella being abducted because he's a knowledge sim and those sims are really interested in stuff like that
To Mortimer's defense, knowledge sims are known to get positive memories from family members getting abducted by aliens. Also might've been overlooked by Maxis.
No that last theory is on point. Because you see the funny thing about time traveling is that, if you tamper with a timeline, it’ll likely not effect YOUR timeline, destiny is already set in that universe. But, what Mortimer did likely created a new timeline, an alternate reality, that branched out into what we know as the sims 4. So even if he couldn’t bring his mom back in his universe, Mortimer time traveling caused the sims 4 to exist and allowed Bella to exist there. :)
But what if: the sims 4 is located some months/years before the sims 2 happened? Cassandra is still a teen and mortimer looks a little bit younger than the one in the sims 2.... So maybe in sims 4 Bella's disappearing has to happen in the future and they give us strangerville with all the aliens stuff as an inch?

So crazy how obsessed I was with all of those games. Sims 2 was such an incredible game because of the storylines. I miss the mystery so much. I forgot about how the sims 2 looked & the graphics were definitely not that bad back then.. I do wish they could’ve Expanded these stories into the sims 4… I still play all the time but it doesn’t have that same feeling as before. Still love it tho!

I was relatively young when ts2 was at it's height. I only played it once or twice at friends' houses, so I never got too deep into it. I was 12 when ts3 released and that was my first sims game to own. So, like with ts3 and ts4, was it possible to move sims families to new towns? Even the EA-made sim households? If so, has anyone tried moving the Pleasantview Goths to Strange Town to see what happens if they bump into that version of Bella?
Hi there! In the Sims 2 you couldn't move households between worlds as far as I know. so It was wouldn't have been possible to do that unless you are using some kind of software or cheats to do it.
I had mine meet and and they did nothing. It was as if she wasn’t actually her and a different person.

Thank you for explaining all this story, I´ve heard lots of things about Bella Goth's disappearance, and I was so confused, but I finally realized her name was changed in the Spanish version (which I play) as "Elvira Lápida", and her maiden's name also changed to "De la Soledad". Even Mortimer's name changed to Homero, which I think is a hint to Gomez Addams (also called "Homero" in the Spanish dubbing).... Hell, this is confusing! Why do they change the names?

Also I started playing my Sims 3 pets game on my PS3 again and after watching this video I noticed my sim was reading a book called “Where’s Bella” i never would’ve realized the book was about one of the game’s characters if i didn’t watch this

You know, when I first started playing The Sims franchise, I never knew that Bella Goth had existed. My first Sims was the Sims 3 on console. When I first saw Bella Goth in The Sims 4, I couldn't help but get Morticia Addams vibes, because she has a gothic and glamorous sense of style and has a rather outlandish life. Not to mention She and Morticia have 2 children with their husbands. Now that I've gotten to know Bella's life story, I am deeply fascinated and enchanted with Bella Goth! 💕 I can see why people love the lore in The Sims Franchise. It's so fascinating! I love that what was intended to be a bit of a guide on how you could create your own stories in this new-fangled Sims 2 game turned into one of the biggest features of the entire Sims series. They accidentally caught lightning in a bottle, and here we are, still talking about it almost 20 years later.
OMG Bella Goth, my nostalgia of my dark, angsty teen years when the first Sims came out is hitting hard 😆 I forgot how intricate these characters are.

Didn’t realise Dina really couldn’t give a fuck. It’s weird though everyone says the 2 sims 2 versions look different - the do not. In one she’s smiling. But no one questions the painting, she’s literally white in the painting. That’s not her.
Not only is the sims 4 set in another reality but they’re a lot younger...

My guess is that Dina wanted Bella’s husband due to his richness. But instead went for her brother. I would say Dina only married Bella’s brother so she could possibly get closer to Bella, and figure a way for Mortimer and Bella to divorced.
This obviously didn’t work since Dina’s husband ended up dying. There’s a chance that Dina only used Don the whole time by being part of his affairs.
Dina used him to shift the blame for Bella disappearance by having Bella over at his house(by convincing him obviously). Since Dina is related to aliens, she could have told the aliens to take bella. Resulting in her own plan working, since she’s now with Mortimer.
Im pretty sure this theory was already made up, but it’s just something i wanted to point out as well here.

Now there IS the lore that ties into the Alexander theory, with the new update to the sims 4 with the makeover of the Goth family. In their bio it mentions that Bella DID go missing, but suggests that she was rescued but it took a big toll on the family, Alexander and Cassandra specifically
i think it does still fit with EA saying sims 4 exists in an alternate timeline, where alexander goth created this au with his time travel, even if sims 5 has a diffrent explanation for bellas disapearance, ts4 is outside of that, in a world created by Alexander
there was also another sims game, sims 3 pets for xbox 360. one of my favorite games ever, but in the game bella was all alone in her household and had a cat and she wasn’t rich at all. it was a tiny home she lived in, 2 floors one bedroom, one bathroom. she was my favorite character, but i had no idea abt her story.

Wow this video was amazing this channel is hardly underrated ! But to be honest I love the fan theory it really makes sense to me. I mean sure the creators of the sims 4 told us that it doesn’t fit in the storyline but who knows if the sims 4 world is even real. Ok this part is gonna be a conspiracy theory but that’s just to much fun haha. Like for example all the memories are gone and the gots are living their best lives. The Caliente sisters are living with Don Lothario but no one of them is as far as I know related to any aliens I mean the family tree is sadly missing too. But the whole world is just less complex. Like an idealized world of young Alexander who’s probably dreaming about a better life haha. I mean i know it’s more than unlikely but thinking about it was very fun. And btw sorry for all the mistakes but since I’m from Germany I still do some Mistakes. Have a good day !
Thank you! i'm glad you enjoyed it. I think the storytelling in the sims 4 was just plain lazy, but I in fairness I think the sims team honestly thought that we wouldn't care and they'd get away with it! Maybe i'm too optimistic but I really think we can expect more from the sims 5.
Yeah, Sims don't really have "genetics" in the first game. If you make two adults they can't be selected as any relation or anything. All you can do is write it in the bio if you want. Same with kids, you make them a child it won't be theirs outside of any bio. The only so called genetics is when two Sims do have a child in game together. So yeah, I guess check the bio for anything. Not that I've read those in years so I dunno what they say. I just know that they don't have genetics. And whatever is written in the bio doesn't stop them romancing each other.
