Kumkuma is most often applied by Indians to the forehead. The reason has to do with the ancient Indian belief that "the human body is divided into seven vortices of energy, called chakras, beginning at the base of the spine and ending at the top of the head. The 6th chakra, also known as the 3rd eye is centered in the forehead directly between the eyebrows and is believed to be the channel through which humankind opens spiritually to the Divine". Thus, the kumkuma is placed where Indians believe to be the most important spot for receptivity to be enhanced.
Applying kumkum tradition goes date back to satyug and tretayug where story from goddess sita applying kumkum was seen by ram bhakt hanuman, and thus is very nice story

There’s science to the practise, no doubt. But Sadhguru is trying to tackle every Qn, so he makes gaping mistakes. If kumkum is this good for women, why aren’t men wearing it?? How do they show to the society that they’re taken too?!
Mens wear too it's call tikka and womens wear often because she take care of everything in house and sindoor helps to reduce stress. But nowadays many women don't wear daily
Even there is ceremony after marriage, where the new bride enters the house. She kicks a pot of grain and her footprints are captured. As a symbolism to represent goddess laxmi( goddess of wealth) entering the house. May be wife is the most important person in household, who can make the home haven.

@@adityasengupta4416 getting pregnant is biological and wearing sindoor comes under tradition and traditions are created by people so again the question is why dont men wear any symbol and janev is not wore by all married men like sindoor and mangalsutr is
@@elsa2885 tum mat pehan 🙏🙏🙏🙏 hum hi pehnenge ham ladke kal se sindoor mangalsutra aur jo v aap karte hum karenge 🙏🙏🙏
Not sure if you have heard "metti". The ring, married women usually wears on toe fingers after marriage.
It was actually worn by married men in the past. There is a beautiful explanation for this too. Women always walk by looking at the ground (head bowed down, please don't talk about feminism here just saying), so if a guy wears a "metti" (toe ring) it means he is married. On the contrary men hold their head high while walking. So that is why sindoor and mangal sutra.
But with time, somehow toe ring came to girls toe.
This is what I read. This will be shown in one tamil movie too (actor Vishal's Thaamirabharani movie released in 2007)

What kind of lime??? Makes tumeric red! Juice?
No, the lime stone
There’s science to the practise, no doubt. But Sadhguru is trying to tackle every Qn, so he makes gaping mistakes. If kumkum is this good for women, why aren’t men wearing it?? How do they show to the society that they’re taken too?!
Mens wear too it's call tikka and womens wear often because she take care of everything in house and sindoor helps to reduce stress. But nowadays many women don't wear daily
@@sonalimohanty1372 i guess earlier and now men too had stress and every human face stress prblm
South Indians still apply kumkum on their forehead (I do everyday I go out)
Men used to - but as time passed by more females retained spirituality than males. So girls are better - satisfied?

Namaskaram from India brother❤
Such deep insight🙏
Why does a lady become Devi after marriage tho??
Even there is ceremony after marriage, where the new bride enters the house. She kicks a pot of grain and her footprints are captured. As a symbolism to represent goddess laxmi( goddess of wealth) entering the house. May be wife is the most important person in household, who can make the home haven.
Before marriage she is laxmi
It's a pleasure to listen to you ,can I get the meanings of the primary colors
OM SHANTI 🙏
Namaskaram sadguru can widow apply kumkumam and why?
Ok..so wait...you don't have to put it on if you're not married??
