I have the TX22 Competition and have tried several different kinds of ammo as well without failure. From the bulk ammo to the expensive stuff and all non issue. Love it!
Just did a similar test for my first trip to the range with the gen 2. 225 shots and no failures at all. -Fed Champ is really nasty ammo but it fired. Their Automatch ran great and is what I plan to bulk up on. -Remington Thunderbolts had the most perceptible increase in recoil and was smoky enough to obscure sight. Don’t plan on trying golden as I’ve always heard it’s dirty and unreliable. -CCI mini mags(HPs), Quiet, Subsonic, Blazers, and Standard were all good. I’d go mini-mags if using for defense. Aguila was also fine. I got a box of Super Extra and Standard before realizing it’s the same ammo, lol.
You're dead on. Does the only bullet I've ever had issues with not out my TX but other 22s. Great video dude. Precise into the point! That's good content

I really like the TX22 but mine has a lot of problems running Federal automatch. CCI Minimag and Aguila super extra high velocity have worked great in it.
I’ve had issue running certain ammo out of my tx22 aswell. Doesn’t even like punch which I’ve heard nothing but good things about. Doesn’t like super high velocity and it doesn’t like low velocity
Yesterday I ran 400 painful rounds of the Aquila jacketed through my TX SCR. Jammed about every 10 rounds or so with five different mags and a clean gun. Bought it because it was cheap and I got exactly what I paid for!
I have a TX22 with both the standard and competition uppers. As long as the magazines are loaded one at a time, I never have a loading malfunction. You can get malfunctions if you dump a bunch of rounds in at one time, which is caused by "rimlock", where the rim of the top round falls behind the rim of the round below it. At 25 yards, I'm benchresting 3 inch groups with the standard upper, only because the iron sights are so course. With the competition upper, the gun produces 1 inch groups with a Holosun 2moa red dot mounted on it. Both results are done with Aguila Super Extra 40 grain ammunition. I use both uppers in competition shoots and they never disappoint me.
Thank you!! My wife got a Compact about a month ago and I loved it so much that I went back and bought a Competition last week. I'm our first trip with the Compact we had two failures on the second and third round, but after than ran though 300 rounds without a hitch! Then trip 2 we had several where it wouldn't strip a round off the magazine all day long. After reading your post, I realized the difference was we were more comfortable with loading mags "faster" by pulling the spring down and loading up 3 or 4 at a time. Yesterday's range trip was the same way. I even switched from my cheap Norma TAC-22 to Mini-Mags thinking it just didn't have enough power to fully cycle. It seemed better but still had a couple stoppages in the Compact AND Competition. Thank you again! I'm excited to get back out and try loading CORRECTLY and see if it improves.
Try cleaning and dry waxing magazines, dremel polish feed ramp, 2 of my 5 magazines had issues loading. Also ran higher velocity bullets in them...All of this seemed to help @@slonlo364

I’ve done a fair bit of testing with it from rifles on my channel. It’s pretty good pistol round too. Yellow jackets are scarce in my part of PA. I have about half a brick of them left over from the early 2000s.
I’ve had feed issues with federal punch flat nose. Seems like the flat nose shape gets jammed trying to go up the feed ramp. Out of 100 rounds I had feed issues with 7 rounds.

Nice vid. I don't have any experience with 22s but it seems foolish if I don't have at least one in the arsenal. Which of these is preferred to be viable for stopping the threat? Do they have risk of passing through intended target?
Compared to most .22lr pistols the Taurus is near the top in terms of eating ammo good and bad. A lot of .22s are finicky. @@jesseboutdoors no worries, this is just a simple but very good test that’s very informative for one looking to find the most reliable .22 pistol/ammo
