    Dang, good video. Hopefully come summer time I could use this to install my own sway bar and end links. I’ve been watching your videos, seen you sharing them in the Audi groups and subbed. I’d like to see a video of how you jack the car up and set level on 4 jack stands.

    • @cmidas3396
      @cmidas3396  Год назад +1

      Thanks 👍. Yeah I might do a video on putting the car on 4 jackstands. As far as leveling it I just make eyeball it and make sure I'm on a level surface. I believe C7 Owners did a video of putting the A6 on jackstands so you might want to check his channel out. I need a lift lol.

      @austinmerrival927 Год назад +1

      @@cmidas3396 Yeah, I’ve seen his video too but honestly it wasn’t really clear at all. I think I’ll get some jack stand pads and just position them all under the pinch welds beneath the plastic covers right next to the lift points n try that when I need to service transmission and differentials. But shoot, having a lift in your own garage is the dream hahaa.

    • @cmidas3396
      @cmidas3396  Год назад

      Yeah your owners manual will tell you exactly where to position them.

      @@cmidas3396 I even checked that out too but it doesn’t show where to set jack stands once it’s lifted with a jack using the lift points.

    • @cmidas3396
      @cmidas3396  Год назад

      I usually move the jack over from the jacking point so there's enough room to put the jackstands in place.

    @5:29 You didn't have to take the rubber insulator off the hanger. That muffler hanger assembly unbolts right off the underbody.

    • @cmidas3396
      @cmidas3396  7 месяцев назад

      It does but it's easier to just slide the rubber off.

    I think I might have to get one of these. I did an autocross with my A6 and the understeer was absolutely awful.

    • @cmidas3396
      @cmidas3396  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah they have a lot of understeer. My brakes were awful too. I did a rotor & pad upgrade that did wonders for braking but I would say they still need more for such a heavy car. I just bought yellowstuff pads to try out before I do a big brake upgrade I have.

    • @JSAFIXIT
      @JSAFIXIT 10 месяцев назад +1

      @cmidas3396 My brakes were fine, it wasn't a fast course, I think I hit maybe 60 in one spot. It did OK for what it is, but I could definitely feel the weight and soft suspension fighting against me.

    • @cmidas3396
      @cmidas3396  10 месяцев назад

      @JSAFIXIT Yeah was getting a lot of brake fade when braking hard from above 60 though.

      @JSAFIXIT 10 месяцев назад

      @cmidas3396 There are at least some good upgrades available.
      I think I'm going to find a much smaller and lighter car to race with, it's fun tossing around a luxury barge, but going fast is more fun lol

    another great video. i got a question to ask, have you ever notice when it rains hard and you open your trunk after that a little water runs out from the hinge. i have noticed this many times and i just want to know if this is a common thing. i found it to be strange, let me know

      I've never noticed. I'm in Cali though so we don't get a lot of rain. I'll pay attention next time though.

      Not sure what the stock thickness is. If I remember correctly this one is solid so it's a lot stronger.
