I recently started creating a routine for myself because of all the tasks I have to complete that left me a bit overwhelmed. I usually think of myself as very good at creating my schedule, but at times of overwhelm, that can become a challenge. So, I wanted to share this with you and I how I have tried to create a routine for myself in the past weeks to make me more "grounded".

I struggle so much with time management so much that I overwhelm myself to the point of being in some sort of paralysis and things get so piled up that when I go to do something, I feel there is no end in sight. So, no… you are definitely not alone.

I just got diagnosed with ADHD, and I'm learning new time management skills, too. I start my day with a written brain dump, and then I can make a more realistic list after that. It helps me so much! I hope you continue to have success with your version of realistic time management! ❤

Hi Miro 💫 I understand what you were talking about so well with feeling guilty for not doing something, as my Mother is the EXACT same. She does not know how to rest and says she feels guilty if she’s not constantly busy. (This stems from her childhood). But I so wish her and you and the countless amount of others who deal with this just 1 hour of doing absolutely nothing. You all deserve a break and please know like I tell my Mom, you are a super hero 🙏🏻 wishing you a Zen filled week. 🙏🏻💫

Miro, I hope you are well. I love watching your videos, it's become my Sunday morning ritual. I can't help but notice you've been m.i.a. so I guess you are taking time for yourself. Yes, you do deserve to take down time! It took me years to convince myself it was OK to do nothing. Now though as I retire from the workforce I feel I'm just being lazy. I think we all struggle especially those of us that grew up in a demanding environment.

I have major depressive disorder and anxiety and sever panic attacks to the point where I lose consciousness sometimes. I've been on meds since 2017-2020 for my depression, few weeks ago I started taking meds again for my anxiety. But I know how hard and difficult its to be and stay productive and self-shaming is the worst. My therapist said to me once, maybe in 2017-2018 that during difficult times I have to treat myself as a plant in green house conditions. I didn't understood at that time what she meant by that, because I've never experienced such a "safe space" in my life. And around 2018-2019 I really started getting into the plants. They really help me to be become more patient with myself, and self-love, self-grow. I know it's a meme that we are basically plants but with more complex emotions, but I really think that's kind of true to some degree. You're doing great, even if sometimes it doesn't seem that way. You are. And if you enjoy making these types of videos, please continue. We're all here for you.

I just discovered you and have been catching up on your videos. I just got into Hoyas and your videos have been immensely helpful!
But the biggest reason I decided to subscribe & hit that bell is because you crack me UP!!🤣
I have been struggling with a deep depression that's lingered for over a year. I would watch things I knew I liked, that I knew were funny and wouldn't crack a smile. Days would go by and I didn't smile once. One day I watched one of your videos (I think a cleaning out grow tents or something) and actually laughed...hard...almost the whole video. It felt amazing!!! And it was partly because you're hilarious but mostly because I saw myself and realized I didn't have to take things so damn seriously.
So thank you friend in my head for helping me find my giggle again! I ADORE YOU!!🤗

It's plants and plant content. There is always something that "must" get done and a lot of somethings that "could" get done. I limit myself to one or two "must get done" a day and fill in with as many "could be done" as I choose to. Sometimes the phrase "well that's not going to happen" isn't defeat or failure, it's you taking charge and being smart.
Now about Hoya sulawesiana - trailing or trellised? It's at the point where I need to make a decision.

I can say that for me, not sleeping well played a huge part in my mental sanity. I started taking sleep medication, and while I won't say that I'm completely sane now lol, I can say that getting 6+ hours of sleep every night has made coping with life a little bit easier.

I understand your struggle with your feelings regarding time. I grew up in a family of farmers and businessman that worked from the moment they got up until they got home, and then they worked on home chores until bed. I, on the other hand, do not work because of multiple disabilities (which is its whole other discussion). I worked until 2008, so it I still struggle with feelings that I “do enough.” I’m sorry your philodendron collection had to go, but I’m sure the time and space saved will be worth missing the plants.

@@BasiePlants I think anyone who views your videos would agree that you do a lot with your days! I face the internal struggle of “did I do enough today?” But I have learned (but not do consistently) that other people are not monitoring me and disapproving of how I live my life because they are too busy living their own lives and stressing out about their own stuff. I have an internal monologue that tells me everyone disapproves, but every time it pipes up, I have to tell it no, I’m doing good. It’s only by constantly addressing and countering the thoughts that bother me can I get them to occur less and less often.

I think you need to add the things you’ve already done to your to do list & cross them off, you’ll see that you are doing things. The word ‘clean’ could be broken down too…I’m sure you’re doing some cleaning during the day, washing up etc, so maybe ‘wash dishes, laundry, put potting things away’ there’s 3 ✔️ that you wouldn’t have had but now you can see you’re actually getting things done. I do a brain dump on a long notepad and add tasks as needed. I don't put deadlines on the tasks or time limits on them. I never want to set myself up for failure and feel bad about not completed all the tasks within a time limit. I will use a highlighter to highlight more urgent tasks and possibly different colored highlighters for ongoing or weekly tasks. I had to try many different planners until I found one I was suited to my style of work. Thank you for the honest discussion about this issue.

Do I? No. Haha. But someday maybe
I also use the bullet journal method and feel the exact same way about empty spaces. So now I use stickers and terrible sketches 😅

My mother was a perfectionist...and living at home, was like walking on eggshells. No matter how much I did (being the oldest of three girls), it was NEVER enough. At 15 or 16 I tried to become rebellious and not care any more...but damage was already deeply ingrained. I swore I never wanted to be like her, but after being married and having children, it was like watching HORRIBLE re-runs. Then when my youngest sister, and my oldest daughter told me how much I reminded them of my mom...I went into deep depression for almost 5 months. Back then (I'm 67 now), you were considered NUTSO if you said you needed counseling. Maybe it was having seven children that actually saved me. When I got to my fifth child (now mind you, I always thought I wanted 13 or 7 children), but when #5 came along, I realized, I wasn't SuperMom, I wasn't WonderWoman...I was just me (which was never enough). I chose to homeschool my children at least until high school. That was about the time, my "schedule" had to go into the circular file almost every evening. Each morning or late evening, I'd write down what I "hoped" to get done the next day. If I could ✅check off one thing that day...I had to learn to be okay with that. And everything else had to go on to the next day, or the next week, or the next month...WHATEVER the case may be. After I'd had child number 4, I was forever out of my mom's good graces...so maybe that also helped for me to stop trying to please or appease "that invisible pressure." But now, I write it all off to being over twice your age, and some things I just have to say, "I don't give a damn!" and let it go. Or else...I could choose to be a crotchety old lady🤬 LOL 😂 I think I'm starting to be okay with the fact that I'm not perfect. 🤣😵‍💫🙃😉 oops! I forgot to say how much I love your ramblings in the midst of keeping it real. That's why I watch your videos, Miro! 💙

You used Leca on the bottom of your cup then soil for rootings? Can you do a video on how you root Hoyas in coconut husk? You said it is the best and fastest for rooting a Hoya? Would you leave a Hoya in husk? I wonder if you have to water more often I am having a hard time keeping up w watering I don’t have enough time

I used LECA to essentailly lift the coconut husk and create a small reservoir - I am just trying this out as I don't really have access to small selfwatering pots so I thought this could do the trick :) You do have to water more often in coconut husk, it dries out very fast. As for rooting, I just put a cuttiing in a pot with coco husk, spray it and put it in a bag - they were rooted in a week :) I will probably include it in one of the future videos.

Can you share the name of the very last plant on the video when you were outside, it was strappy and in a hanging basket.

It is a type of a epiphytic cactus, but I forgot the name :/ It's been a long time since I bought it and it has no tag in it anymore. Potentially Pfeiffera boliviana, but I am not sure.

This sounds like ADHD and/or ASD. Time blindness and executive dysfunction very common. I say all I f this after figuring out I have ADHD at age 42.

Sounds to me you have horror vacui :D so if you want to fill up the page I suggest you write down each chore and add all the details involved in that specific chore. then proceed casually and add all the other things you do. It's a cheat, sort of, it will look like you have done even more than you had planned, but you are an artist I believe and you need some order, but mess befits you much better 😆
