I believe the cd version of Deep Concentration came with an "expanded cd" which you popped into your computer where it brought up an interactive DJ deck simulation. You could mix and scratch pre-loaded samples using your keyboard. Had a lot of fun acting like I was "mixing" mad beats ;) Pretty cool and innovative for it's time.
Nothing like having a vinyl addiction mate. Ive had one myself for many years. Whereas I COLLECT rare soul (45s from 60s/70s MAINLY) I also buy or find anthing rare that I can use for swaps later. I got a pretty decent collection and my Mrs moans like hell using the spare bedroom for my record box. Theres nothing like finding some slosed or closing down record shop or going thru really old small radio stations basements getting dusty and coming out with some treasure. 2 weeks ago I was lucky to buy/swap 2 very rare records that had been on top of my wants list for over 30 years and I stood them up on the coffee table like some expensive ornament just so I can look at them. I dont Dj or sell records so these tunes are purely for me. Vut I have recently started uploading them on here so at least I can share them a bit. Keep on keepin on bruv.
I used to get my records at Funk O Mart on Market Street. It was basically an underground warehouse full of delicious new & used DJ vinyl & equipment. Sound of Market on Chestnut used to be great also.
Watching these Fuse videos, so many of these guys live in the suburbs with loads of space, so they're able to have these immense collections all stacked up in garages and lofts etc. Even their parent's houses! Multiple copies of stuff and records they don't even recognise when they pull them out. It's crazy. But if you live in an apartment in the city you'd better make sure your collection is tight! Distilled to a few thousand choice pieces, with regular filtering. No room for hoarding and completism. No excess fat!
Cut Like I said before "You're Truth" Real 4Real Digga! one of the few out there that I have true respect for! and one of the few that has no issue mentioning us as onne of their starting point in becoming a digga.
Man shouts to Cut man Funk O Mart was the shit in Philly man shouts to Chino and the whole crew R.I.P to Reds. Man this is why I love this HIP HOP its all about the memories of knowing where you where when you got a record and who you where with... Cut keep doing your thing LOVE, RESPECT, PEACE!!!!!!!!
i got about 12k records and 70k Flac,Mp3,Wma,last time i counted. I did sell 1k for 2k ukp. Most of my records are 12" eps, underground old house 1987-95. I love my labels, belguim (music man) etc Italian Discomagic,Palmares,Out Records etc and our own UK Warp sheffield, Eastern Bloc Records...Manchester of course, DJ international USA and more! 2x 750gb hdds full of catalogue numbers...keep collecting yawwlll
Tommy Boy is one of the most important record labels in the history of Hip-Hop. They released records by De La Soul, Afrika Bambaataa, Prince Paul, Naughty by Nature, Digital Underground etc. etc...
This is bringing back old memories, I used to get my vinyl fix from a place called street light records in San Francisco before that I was oing to the Record Factory in 1976.
No wonder I rarely found records there, you were getting all the gems!!! Just playin' I got a few outta there but they were few & far between... nice1!
11.24 - Gloria Ann Taylor - Love is a Hurting Thing is in shot. Such an expensive record to buy, like $1000. Amazing song, should be checked out by all.
Just about the only record bag he didn't introduce was the only one I've been to. Big ups Beatin Rhythm in Manchester. Great shop (it was a decade and change ago anyways).
What a great video on vinyl i use to work at music factory on 34 street my boss was Barry shade many be you new him. There was one in kings high way in Brooklyn to and also I work in tape king record dis. back in the good old days. Then went to J And R music world and manged the record department. Saint Mark Sounds closed down What a great place to get great good reggae music at the right price 6 lp's for 20.00 bucks new back in the days. Down town records is still there and also second coming records and Rock & Soul on 36 street in 7th ave. When i go to jamaica i still go to all the records stores down there to buy reggae and studio one 45's any way i'am tell you my life story sorry for that but you don't get to see a great record collection every day.
his collection is beast mode I love shit like this I have maybe 1500 records I just sample shit now instead of collecting everything and its mostly because I wouldnt have room but when I do ill collect alot more.
its so weird how people organize their records. mine are just sitting on the shelves with no particular sorting system. i just remember where they are.
Of all the crate diggers, Cut seems to me to be the most organized; its not by date, its by label, which in a way is its own dating system because no label is forever
i kick myself daily for buying tapes in the early 90's when i should have continued to buy records..now i have to pay 25 bucks plus for stuff that was like 8 bucks.
Why did they leave Beatin Rhythm and Kingbee records (both in Manchester, England) out of the tour of his record store bag-wall tour? About the only two they didn't mention.
If you’re sorting by label, then you have mastered record collecting
chronologically too! legendary
Looked in the comments to see if anyone else realized how crazy that is.
By far the most organized record collection in all of the Crate Diggers episodes.
Second only to Dilla's.
Okay, now I'm ready to see Shadow's collection.
If your over 1 years old, then I'm sorry you don't have enough time left........
Haa

Every couple years I end up back watching the entire Crate Diggers series, here I go again!
Legend of Hip Hop production and turntabilism right here, Cut Chemist. I'm proud to have a bunch of J5 LPs and singles on vinyl.
"this is the stable... and these are my horses"
I don't know what he is talking about, but I can't stop listening.
Same!
9 of 10 diggers have their collections in their mother's house also. Fact.
yep i got 2500 records at my moms on the other side of the world...its my safe haven
Believe it. Moms ain't going nowhere and she's always paying rent so they're safe af haha.
I brought all my mom's records with me into my apartment LOL, it ain't that much tho
Funk-o-mart! In the 80's I spent more time in there than I did in school
down in the basement... upstairs at Sound of Market too!
He saves and displays the record store bags. True collector
