BrentBarceloMusic: Holy shit, he's got that thousand-mile stare that says he might kill you and then go back to thumbing thru the stacks like nothing happened.
Shruggz Da Str8-Faced Clown probably waiting around to meet him after
Hey... Questloves in the house!...

-Eric Andre show
+Villa Literrally was just thinking about that.....Questlove, I'm your father.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN

I swear he has to be the most coolest guy on the damn planet!! I really hope to meet Questlove someday! I love all his music, everything! His collection>Dope!! RIP to J Dilla!!
Come to Philly and you will understand. Quest is a friend, smart, brilliant, and knows his music.
They should do these daily, with anybody...stars not required. I don't care who they are, I just want to know what's in their bag. :)
This got me turned onto Grace Jones. She's amazzzing.
LOVED YOUR SELECTIONS. I WILL HAVE TO GIVE GRACE JONES A GO .I ALWAYS ADMIRED HER FOR HER ECCENTRIC BEAUTY.
BE WELL
~KEEP IT REAL
Is Questlove in the house?
He's no where
For those who have asked/are wondering...opening to the video is the track 'Upper Egypt' by the Roots off their mixtape 'Dilla Joints'
That album is a masterpiece.
Damn great taste in movies and music.
Hell Yeah! Grace Jones is amazing...good taste.
your style gon live forever quest.
Wish I could afford to buy 2 of everything
Aside from his spectacular drum skills, Questlove got "the ears" a lot of people don't.
No surprise here: questlove killin it with his selections. The man is a legend
Questlove you're not in the house
You're nowhere

His girl back then is the finest girl I've ever seen. Damn
Who is she?

i've got that album! and the track is called Upper Egypt if people were wondering. all instrumentals, when i was into freestyling haha
questlove and dilla my all time fave producers! one love!
He's one of the best drummers in the world. Have you seen him play? He can do any genre and is an amazing jazz drummer. And just because he's knowledgeable about music doesn't mean he's arrogant...
Grace Jones IS the Shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love her so much
Quest surprised me...Audition? Happiness? ....NEVER judge a book by its cover, kids....never.
The guy in the background is stealing.
Reverend Benzo 😂
I hope these record/ cd stores stay in business and never go away. I can look for hours and hours in one of these giant record stores. itunes and all those online stores don't have the same feel as going to a record store
hahaha that dude keeps staring at him
I knew he would have a sick taste in movies :D
Quest loves in the house
From watching this I discovered the classical versions of Jdilla's work! Thanx Quest...love dilla and love the roots
I LOVE Grace Jones!!! In addition to the three he mentions, check out "Inside Story" and the single "I'm Not Perfect (But I'm Perfect for You)" with the incomparable Nile Rogers at the helm. The drummer on that track...I dunno whether it's fake or real, but It's badass!
That Proceed II with Roy Ayers playing in the background is one of my favorite Roots tracks!!
The first thing he pulled was the iconic grace jones! Yess! she is very underrated
much respect to questlove
Dammit questlove i been looking for that ep forever now!!! lmao
@plastictunes its the roots-"what they do"...one of the most amazing hip hop tracks ever in my opinion!
it's so awesome to get to tap into some of the musical inspirations of some of the most musically talented minds. It's such a wealth of knowledge. I don't know if they did Dr. Dre, but that would be priceless.
Suite For Ma Dukes is an amazing record..excellent choice Quest!
Today is Questlove's 40th birthday! Happy birthday okayplayer!
Thank you Quest for directing me to that movie! Anyone got anymore? i already saw Gummo, Juiliene Donkey Boy and Eraserhead
damn i had that legendary cd. shit was great. had it playing on repeat in my headphones through a whole year of high school.

@Metalfanmusicfan The track is called "Upper Egypt" off the Dilla Joints mix tape. It's a collection of Dilla beats performed by The Roots.
questlove pulled him a bad one
@crimsondynamoo It's "Upper Egypt" from a mixtape called "The Roots - Dilla Joints."
I love quest love. Love his drumming, love the man
@chris92w "I Don't Know" off the Slum Village album Fantastic Vol.2. The song played in the clip from the Suite From Ma Dukes DVD is "Hoc n Pucky" off SV's Fantastic Vol. 1.
shiiiit saw the screening for the mochilla suite for Ma Dukes last year in Detroit. Amazing orchestral arrangement.. was inspiring learning more bout Dilla and an honor to meet Ma Dukes.
Dang I need to right all those albums down and go get them ! Especially the Jackson 5 !
Thanx Quest for the shout out on the Ma Dukes tribute concert for Dilla...jeez that ish is crazy!

Great choices and a new movie for me to watch!
Happiness was an insane movie
this guy seems like such a chill dude
Questlove have a great taste of music I love you quest
I love him even more❤ he has great taste
@musicpnppl It's "Upper Egypt" from a mixtape called "The Roots - Dilla Joints."
I think his point was that in the 80's you had a wave of soul music that Marvin helped usher in and that influenced artist like Grace Jones.
I loved this one!
holy shit i cant unsee it
AMOEBA. On of the best stores ever!
questlove is my hero
@Specialmeeeetch thanks so much!!!!
Gotta Love Quest.
What's in ?uesto's bag - Priceless information! Thank you guys!!
if anyone's wondering, the track @ the top of the vid is The Roots - Upper Egypt...........I think lol
YES!
The first track comes DRM.a instrumental Roots album called "Dilla Joints". They played Dilla beats over.
grace jones sales just went up
you crazy questlove is a pioneer
That's definitely a Sky Sailing's An Airplane Carried Me to Bed record at his left.
Nightclubbing by Grace Jones is such a great album
things fall apart - what a CLASSIC album!
I've been binge watching these and they're fantastic. Amoeba, invite anyone from, or all of Primus and Ween. Also, Iggy Pop and Tom Waits!
Thanks for watching! We've made attempts on most of those artists, and will try again.
They're roof might split open if Tom waits showed up.
Big up Questlove
one of the best
His girlfriend tho!!!!
She's the real deal.
SHe's hot.
EXACTLY!!!
its interesting some people don't like this i think ?uestlove is remaining pretty humble open and prolific given his fame
"The early 80's was part new-wave, part soul" *shows Marvin Gaye's What's Going On*
That album came out in 1971 though...
@LJPpro So now you and his picks have something in common...cool.
quest is ma hero
HE HAS A PICK IN HIS AFRO. JUST LIKE THE 70'S. AHAHAHAHA STILL NOT GETTING OLD, MAN
Questlove has great taste in music and women.
If PBS ever decides to make a documentary about hip hop, i want quest to produce, write and narrate it.
The guy in the back is not even looking at the records he's searching through lol
questlove is so freakin awesome....
Shoutout to him for Audition!
Holy crap that Rick James track sounds like Flight of The Conchords. I see the influence!

Audition? Fuck yes.
"kinny kinny kinny kinny"

D'Angelo reference less than 15 seconds in.. hell yeah
Anyone else thinking of Charlie Murphy's Hollywood stories (The Chappelle Show) when he mentions Rick James? :')
