As a Chiefs fan for 50 years, I would love to listen to Harlan call the game on the radio. In the '80s before the Chiefs were decent, they never sold enough tickets to get the blackout lifted so all you got was the radio call if you did not go to the stadium. Harlan was able to describe the setting in such vivid detail that I still remember it 35 years later. He would comment about the uniforms of each team with detailed color descriptions and trims, the wind direction, how the sun would or would not be shining on the field, the mood of the fans, etc. He would describe the Raiders like they were all recently released from prison. It was great.
He does tone it down now for TV compared to radio and does not get near as excited when he calls radio for NFL games as he did when he did those Chiefs games in the Mid '80s, but he is still great to listen to.
He really should go into the Hall of Fame. Both the Pro Football and Chiefs.

Local broadcasters are more "fans" of the teams they call. But "I'm calling both games" is proof that he still carries and cares a lot about the Chiefs

Joe Buck can make any game sound important. Gus Johnson brings an energy not evewn the players can match. But Kevin Harlan brings this perfect mix of professional and genuine excitement you just dont see very often. He sounds like a guy genuinely having the time of his life watching football every week just like the rest of us and those moments of brevity like the cat or both games show hes having just as much fun as the rest of us. Kevin Harlan was one of the reasons I fell in love with the Chiefs. I started watching football in 1989. A very interesting and seminal year for the organization. We had drafted this guy out of Alabama at linebacker ❤. I was 8 years old. My dad would turn down the national broadcast and turn on 101.1 the Fox and that voice would be the soundtrack of the games.
Some of the best memories of my childhood were listening to Kevin Harlan on Sundays with my dad.

Honestly I would love to see a broadcast booth with Kevin Harlan Andrew Catalon Kevin burkhardt Gus Johnson Daryl moose Johnston and Bob Lee I know that hypothetically that couldn't happen because the fact that you can only fit two or three people in a booth at once but it would be pretty cool if you could fit like five or six people in a booth at a game together or maybe have like two of them be on the sidelines calling the game while they're on the sidelines or like one place in the crowd to pose like a fan but be calling the game in the seats which be pretty cool but it wouldn't happen.
