Tested it the other day. Great improvements overall! I really didn't like the new turn signal buttons on the wheel though. It was very annoying to use in tight roundabouts. It even felt unsafe because I constantly had to look down at the wheel to use them, with other cars all around me, and I often lost overview and became distracted because of it. That's the only thing that really keeps me from buying one at the moment. I need to give it some more thought. Ideally, it should come with stalks for the EU market because, unlike the US, we tend to use lots of tight roundabouts everywhere instead of intersections. Things I’d like to see added: dual zone multi-function physical dials below the central display (one for driver, one for passenger). Presses of either of the dials switches them between modes for HVAC and heated and ventilated seats, and turning the weighted, dampened metal dials adjusts the power setting. Abstracting some of these basic everyday features to these two physical dials would be a godsend for the Tesla user experience, while retaining interior minimalism by giving the dials those three, four or even five features the user can choose between. The round dials could have built-in displays to show the current selected setting (e.g. 66° for climate, an image of a red seat for heated seating, or a blue seat for ventilated seating), and upon changing the function with a press the newly selected setting could also be reflected on the big screen, so a user can physically feel for the dial and see a big representation of what’s happening on the big screen, allowing for the best of both worlds-tactility and large visual cues. The second thing I’d like to see is four Qi2 magnetic charging pads. Two up front and two in the rear-one on the back of each seat. Qi2 charging is the future and magnetic charging at 15W ensures passengers can grab a quick perfectly aligned charge every time. The third thing I’d like to see is the return of turn indicator stalks. They are safer and nicer to use as they are always in the same location. Yeah, how does that actually work? Do you let go with one hand to stab at the button? What is the actual ergonomics of how you negotiate that when the steering wheel is turned upside down? Highway driving indicator buttons are fine, but I can't imagine not using the stalks on a roundabout.
@@yggdrasil9039 I got used to it after a few drives. I move my hands when I turn the wheel so I had to learn with muscle memory where the button is to signal out of the round about.
Not for long. Even with the 'refreshed' look it's still pretty 'fugly'. I get that Tesla has a minimalist, function-over-form style but they could at least try to make it look cool for the price. There's a lot of competition now, particularly EV's from China. Whilst most Chinese EV's look bad too, there are some that look seriously good and for a much better price than the Model 3. There's a British car brand owned by China called MG, they released the MG4 last year in Europe and it looks so nice. You can buy a top of the range MG4 Trophy in the UK for about 10k LESS than a bottom of the range Tesla Model 3. MG4 was the most awarded, best selling EV in Britain last year for this reason, style plus affordability. Tesla needs to catch up on both.

Helps to stop read clickbait articles and do some homework.
Tesla: as an investor and owner of a Model 3, I am very concerned about the amount of easily avoidable FUD in the mainstream media. The amount of vitriol in the comments, representing confirmation bias, is astonishing. Much of this can be avoided by simply providing a single point of contact to answer media questions. Journalism standards, even for hit pieces, requires that the target of an article is asked to comment before publishing. If an answer is provided it is included in the article. If an article is published without comment and is corrected through X a day later, the damage is done. Nobody listens to the corrections except Teslarati. This common sense function is missing from Tesla. Why?
That's what's even more impressive. The new Model 3 costs *less* than the old one despite being massively upgraded. I don't think there's any comparable car at its price point.
Great improvements to a great car. Still completely madness that it doesn't have a heads up display. It would be so cool if Tesla implemented a big one.
HUD, Air Suspension, Better quality and materials, and tri-motors will always only be in the higher models of tesla. (Model S and X). There’s absolutely no way they bring these things into the 3 and Y. They wouldn’t be “affordable” anymore.
@@Astro-M0 haha, I like how you put affordable in quotes, cause they really aren't that affordable for a car full of compromises. BYD seal are much more affordable with less compromises, although they need to work on improving their autonomous safety features..
Yeah I just need a small one with 3 digits showing the km/hr. This is why I'm not buying a Tesla until they implement a HUD. I get that in a robotaxi a HUD is not necessary. So a HUD is an admission that FSD is not happening next week. But FSD is really not happening next week, and in the meantime on my current car I use my HUD every moment of driving in a city with about a million speed cameras.
This is the most underrated car ever made. The model 3 is the really fun to drive, it's like a big go-kart. If Tesla could could make a Plaid Model 3 with serious brakes suspension and tired, it would be the sports car to beat. The Model S Plaid is the car to beat on the drag strip, but a Plaid Model 3 could dominate a road course.
I agree. I understand Elon's minimalist aesthetic and agree with a lot of it. But if you read the biography even he admits that after stripping things out, somethings have to be brought back in. Stalks and HUD would be good. As would a simple physical drive dial or button if you are doing a 3 point turn in a hurry.
🚗💨 Exciting to see the upgraded Tesla Model 3 design walkthrough! Tesla's commitment to innovation and sleek design is evident in every detail. Can't wait to see these on the road! 🔋🔌
I don't like a lot of the things Elon is about, but I do appreciate the engineers at Tesla taking on the challenge. I'd still like to see an option for physical controls from the factory. At $500 extra, I'd pay for a dash/HUD, gear selector, and AC/seat controls that are physical and located where you'd expect them and I bet it would be a package most people would get.
For the last few years.. The focus has been on innovations big and small but little publicity and even less credit!! Give Tesla the R.E.S.P.E.C.T! It deserves!!!

I just test drove one a couple days ago and it was a complete night and day difference over the original Model 3. Also, my biggest selling point was the suspension. Such a HUGE improvement. So smooth and comfortable. Well done, Tesla!
But how does it handle with aggressive cornering? One of the things I like the best about my 2021 Model 3 is the way it corners like it’s on rails-almost no body roll to speak of. Does the softer suspension still have sporty handling?

The new Tesla Model 3 (Highland) is almost the perfect choice. Just a few tweaks needed as per me. I have been deferring my shift to electric for some time. The new Model 3 is the closest I have come to saying YES. A few tweaks are needed though & this is according to me, basis what I look for when I walk into one of the German showrooms for my next mid-sized sedan. Hope you are able to get these in to the 3 as well as the Juniper. 1- Ventilated rear seats. Seat heating is a great 1st step, but you need to close the loop with seat ventilation in the rear. There are plenty of hot climes on the planet, so, it’s important that you cater to both ends. Ask my kid who gets picked up at close to 1400 Hrs in near 50 degrees C, and she will tell you what it means to have a vented seat in summer ! Just do it ! 2- Illuminated door handles and back-lighting for the car door handles are a must. Especially true for the darker colors. It is almost impossible to see the door handles when dark. Again, just do it. 3- A light carpet on the outside is both elegant & functional. Will not ask for fancy patterns and logos in the light carpet. Ask anyone that has walked in the rain to get to their car on a dark night and you know the value of a light carpet. Again, it’s simple, so just do it ! 4-Soft door closing. You must adopt soft door closing as a standard thing across all cars. No more slamming of the door. 5- The Blind Spot Indicator needs upsizing. That small red speck needs to be scaled up just a wee bit to be more easily visible and unmissable during the day. 6- Rear passenger window sun blinds / roller blinds. Call them privacy blinds or sun blinds. They are a common presence in all the top notch mid-sized vehicles. In tesla, they are conspicuously absent. Keep it simple, keep it manual, but ensure they are there. They serve as both a privacy solution as well as a sunblind for use when required. Please add to your list. 7- Rear window blind. All premium vehicles have these as electronically controlled roller blinds. I’ll settle for a simple manual solution like with the passenger window if that’s an option. Electronic would be great though. 8- Heads-up display. Truth be told, I can live without one … but I would absolutely buy it if the option were there. Keep it simple and give me just speed, battery %, range, cruise status and road speed limits. Will take everything else from the main screen. 9- More use of lights. Please do put some of that ambient lighting around the glass roof as well. That’s what most kids strapped in will be staring out of. Give them something to awe at. 10- One last thing … please change the standard black carpets and floor mats to instead be dark grey / charcoal gray. It hides dirt better than jet black + looks brighter when the footwells are illuminated at night. 🙂
It really is a big step in driving refinement! BUT!! Please put the stalks back 🙏 😢 not having them lowers the driving engagement and I can't figure out how to blink out of a roundabout... so that is a safety issue. Otherwise great work team Tesla!! 🎉🎉🎉
I switched from a model 3 to a model Y but I still miss my model 3. It was just so much fun to drive. Felt like one with the car. But as a tall guy getting into the model Y is easier.
Yes. But what about the parking sensors? And the blinker stalk? And the crappy P-R-N-D interface? And the absence of a black headliner? And the absence of instrumentation in front of the driver?
Test drove one. Had never driven an electric car before, it was absolutely incredible. Steering wheel signal controls are dumb, but I could deal. Shifting with the screen is totally fine though, didn’t mind at all.
The lack of stalks is just like the switch to the yoke on the "S". Everybody hates it. Until they spend some time with it. Human nature resists change. At first.
I've heard that from several people so it must be true. For now. Synthetic vision is evolving. I hope that in the next two years we will all forget about sensors. I hope. KISS. Keep it simple, stupid.
Can’t wait for the Juniper (upgraded Y) - really like the upgrade, having been in the new 3, it feels more premium than current model 3 & Y. Wish dark cherry red was coming to UK.
Voice isolation for better call quality, coupled with reduced wind noise, a rear tablet allowing HVAC control as well as controls for moving the front seats up... all sound like great features especially in a robotaxi.
People with USS now want Tesla vision parking. S3xy buttons company is working on stalks for those who need them. I test drove the car and did just fine without them.

Yeah, how does that actually work? Do you let go with one hand to stab at the button? What is the actual ergonomics of how you negotiate that when the steering wheel is turned upside down? Highway driving indicator buttons are fine, but I can't imagine not using the stalks on a roundabout.
Fascinating

@@yggdrasil9039 I got used to it after a few drives. I move my hands when I turn the wheel so I had to learn with muscle memory where the button is to signal out of the round about.

A great step forward team Tesla! One of the best cars just got better!
Another video proving why Tesla is still ahead of ALL of the other EV companies~
@@dannyb7329 Buddy, Tesla Model Y & Tesla Model 3 were the 2 top selling EVs of 2023 in the entire world according to Business Insider, so I have no idea where you are getting your doubt in Tesla from, but I suggest you discard it quickly~
There is no contest in popularity and profit between Tesla and the other EV companies, and I am not even focusing on the functionality and efficiency differences between the vehicles yet~
@@dannyb7329It 10k LESS, but it has less range, less performance, slower charging, horrible infotainment system, horrible rear view, very noise inside. Yeah is clearly was not a paid trophy... Also not best selling in UK or Europe:
Best selling EV in Europe:
Model Y - 251k
Model 3 - 100k
MG4 - 72k
For UK:
Model Y - 35k
MG4 - 21k
Model 3 - 13k
Yeah that MG4 surely did beat Tesla...
Why?
Put the indicator/ gear stalks back please.
Please do NOT put them back.
@@beehappy7797 WHY?
Or at least make it a paid option.

This is awesome! Great work Tesla team!
For the first time the Model 3 truly matches and arguably surpasses the Model S visually. Gorgeous redesign!
Gorgeous. (As an aspiring consumer, looking forward to seeing the pricing downscaled.)
That's what's even more impressive. The new Model 3 costs *less* than the old one despite being massively upgraded. I don't think there's any comparable car at its price point.
@@LukewarmEnthusiastreally? How much did the price get reduced, sounds great
It was like watching an Apple ad. Beautifully done.
Great improvements to a great car. Still completely madness that it doesn't have a heads up display. It would be so cool if Tesla implemented a big one.
I would settle for a small one, just to show the speed

The degraded steering wheel with amputated stalks.
#BringBackTheStalks
Make it more sporty look, then we will come, if not? only the Nerdy types will buy it. Now TESLA PLAID? ALL DAY..
Would LOVE to see some long-form videos like this from the Official Tesla channel! No fluff, just straight to the point. Well done! 👏
I don't like a lot of the things Elon is about, but I do appreciate the engineers at Tesla taking on the challenge.
I'd still like to see an option for physical controls from the factory. At $500 extra, I'd pay for a dash/HUD, gear selector, and AC/seat controls that are physical and located where you'd expect them and I bet it would be a package most people would get.

tbf the original design was there from creation of the car in 2017. So it lasted around 7 years, which is a decent amount of time for car design.
I think the old one looks better
It's becoming less and less common where the refresh looks better than the original model. Good work tesla
@@conradceIt's the normal / long range model, they are more for comfort. You prob have to way for the Model 3 performance for the sporty feel.
@@pipooh1 That’s what I’m afraid of, but my 2021 Model 3 is the LR AWD (non-Performance) model, and it has very sporty handling, so that’s why I’m curious. Since @ChrisGrosserRealtor has driven both old and new, I hope he replies.
I don’t really want the Performance model, as I don’t want the bigger wheels, worse range, etc. But I do like sporty handling.

My buddy lets me drive his targa gts porsche time to time and oh my god, bro. The engine. The revs the downshifts. All the people checking out the car. Its insane. The noise alone is what makes me want to drive it over and over again. Best way to describe it is. Speeding in a tesla is like having sex with earplugs in. Only ur body feels it.( Except for the terrible wind noise in the cabin from poor sound isolation.) Real sports cars hit and fill ur entire senses. The rumbling of the engine the visceral special occasion it feels like everytime ur in it. Cant be matched. Now we need the Model Y upgrade!!
When the time is right.
This is the first video I've seen from Tesla that makes me want to buy one.
Finally, ventilated seats!
Illuminated door handles and back-lighting for the car door handles are a must.
Best Model 3 Ever 👍
It really is a big step in driving refinement! BUT!! Please put the stalks back 🙏 😢 not having them lowers the driving engagement and I can't figure out how to blink out of a roundabout... so that is a safety issue. Otherwise great work team Tesla!! 🎉🎉🎉

At first.
we all love Franz, right?
add turn signal stalks and I’d buy one in a heartbeat.
Please bring back the Ultrasonic Sensors. They were very precise. The vision based park assist just isn't the same.
I've heard that from several people so it must be true. For now. Synthetic vision is evolving. I hope that in the next two years we will all forget about sensors. I hope. KISS. Keep it simple, stupid.

"The uplevel of premiumness" yeah that's how normal humans talk lol
I think the biggest things for me are the quieter windshield and ventilated front seats, really helps on those hot summer days
0:28 "And you still need both hands to open the damn door"
Not if you have opposable thumbs.
AH! THAT'S your problem....
Voice isolation for better call quality, coupled with reduced wind noise, a rear tablet allowing HVAC control as well as controls for moving the front seats up... all sound like great features especially in a robotaxi.
Don't forget the best features: No more stalks and no USS. Mind-blowing!
Ya, it's crazy. What a dud!
People with USS now want Tesla vision parking. S3xy buttons company is working on stalks for those who need them. I test drove the car and did just fine without them.

I was on board until I saw the haptic steering wheel controls. Maybe they've done a better job than other cars, but usually they are a pain to deal with.
Well done, good direction there. Please continue with showing team members being genuinely proud of their work. We need at least 50 more ‘small’ Elons going around in the the Tesla factories. They definitely deserve the world knowing their personal and their teams contribution to the Tesla success.
I can't believe you still haven't made the trunk open WITH the rear window like hatchbacks do or Model Y or Model S do, to make it practical to carry stuff.

I’m still curious about what became of the Roadster. I know there was a ton of hype around it around 2020 but I haven’t heard much more about it.
No assembly line for it. Model 2 and Semi are focus right now. Plus how many a year would Roadster sell?
If I would be Tesla, I would slighlty modify the cars back half, the backseats, eliminate the second doors, put in the motors from Plaid and call it the Roadster. That would be so epic
Great work Tesla... Made a great car that much better. Tesla always improving. Light years ahead of the competition.
