Hungarian here. Before the Disney+ deal, we literally had no way to legally stream the show. Maybe you could order Blue Rays and stuff from other countries for an expensive price, but let's be honest, no one will do that. Now everyone can view it with just a Disney+ subscription. And it's immediately getting subtitles and a dub too. I had to pirate the show for the past 7-8 years and before I learned English, I had to wait 3-4 days for unofficial, fan made subtitles to drop. This is a huge deal for Doctor Who fans here. This idiot just forgets that there are places outside the UK and the US.

@Tillyard86 I get the sentiment how it is probably more healthy just to ignore them. Unfortunately, these kind of rage-baiters don't need our support in order to thrive, as they specifically go after those angry insecure individuals, who will just blindly support them, and throw money at them just to hear what they want to hear.
These channels operate like drug-dealers. Most people don't like drugs, which is why they target the real addicts to make their money. It's the same principle.
I think so long as they can be challenged, then that should hopefully provide damage limitation.

What annoys me the most about a lot of the anti-woke crowd is just that they seem to have become the very things that they claim to hate. Like, the arguments I see them make feel like the same things that they argued against years ago just with the ideology swapped. and in some cases not even that much.
Not to mention that they just... Act awful. So mean. Mean to the people making stuff, mean to those who enjoy it, even mean to their own audience. Because if there's even one person in the audience who disagrees, they just get lumped in with "the enemy".
If Steven Moffat can verbally destroy Will of the Fans online, who’s to say he might annihilate Melonrattler in the same way as any other dedicated Doctor Who fan would. Moffat is clearly loyal to the franchise regardless what people criticise him for during his time as showrunner.

As someone who once was down this dark rabbit hole of the anti-fandom, i'm glad that i got out as quick as I got in. All that hate and rage eventually breaks a person and turns them into bitter, miserable people who love nothing and hate everything.... reminds me of a quote from a certain Scotsman.
Okay... but for Disney+ streaming, it's pretty standard to drop a new episode at midnight to 2am in the US. I think the idea is that whenever you get a chance to watch on the release date it will be available. For US programs, waiting for an evening time slot for an episode release is relatively non standard. This seems like a normal Disney+ midnight release, but timezoned for a UK production. Maybe this is a change for UK viewers but it seems to conform to Disney+ streaming distribution standards. It's also a simultaneous worldwide streaming release which was, I think, a touted benefit of the Disney+ distribution deal? Nobody is actually getting the show "first?" Most of the hay made of this seems more than a bit overblown.
It seems the main complaint is the international streaming time coming before the evening TV timeslot and the inconvenience of a midnight release? It sounds like wingeing to a US fan who has put up with atrocious limited legal options for almost 2 decades. Like, "No fair. I have to wait up 'til midnight of the release date or see it on TV after the rest of the world. There might be spoilers on my social media!" Cry me a river. Sounds like people are just annoyed that it's no longer 'their' show first and everyone else's after. I get that it's funded by the BBC, but it's a co-production now, with an international distribution deal. I don't actually know how the UK streaming vs TV scheduling worked before, or for other programs, but the stream dropping at midnight and still having a TV airing in a normal evening time slot? Unless I am somehow misinformed, it seems like the UK still have it good.

Ok , seriously on the international distribution of doctor who. I am super pleased that doctor who is now on disney plus because I don't have to sail the seven illegal streaming seas anymore to catch up with the show. In germany doctor who had a rocky release legacy to begin with (with its first german broadcasts taking place in the late 80s and the occassional 2 to 3 seasons of new who plopping up on netflix over the years at random) so finally having a place for it to be reliably availlable is a dream come true.

While it's not the 'proper' pre-screening - Coming less than a day before the episode's broadcast - I would have been interested to see the show experiment with, its still getting a normal broadcast time, and BARB count pre-broadcast streams of shows (Though I forget if they go within the +7 or +28 figures. Hoping it's the +7 since those are the ones that get released to the public these days, they stopped putting the +28s out), so... I'm still a bit thrown by how this is meant to impact me or the show's figures in the UK for the worse. People who want to watch on broadcast can still do so, those who want to watch prior to broadcast - be it at midnight or while they're having their toast, cerial, or fry up in the morning - can do that also. And both groups count in the ratings (eventually), even if we don't see them.
This is one of those things where it feels like I'm meant to be more annoyed by it than I have the capacity to be.
It shows he has no counter argument and just being a hate monger for the sake of being a hate monger cause as I last time I checked the Disney+ channel on RUclips as I was watching the video it had exactly 1 million more views then the eras tour trailer at 4.7 million views and swift has 3.7 million views dethroning Taylor as the most viewed video on the channel not saying it’s only international views but it still shows people still care about the show and I’ll be watching from 7-9 pm may 10th here in America and it’s not just the license fee that fun’s the show it’s also the merchandise sales for the merchandise us international fans buy and now our Disney+ subscriptions in the marketing to get it dubbed into other languages but the uk fans getting upset about the streaming services getting it first does come off like gatekeeping in way cause they are acting like they are the true fans cause they are British while I understand it’s a British show first but it’s gone international and the uk aren’t the only fans
