Hey Buddy. Great Video Thanks. What do you think about the Sound quality? Did you recognize any negative Effects? And does it support Apple CarPlay? I am watching this Product for a while… but still not sure…. Thanks👍
Good morning. I'm happy with the sound quality. There are two equalizer settings and you can set them to your taste. Radio sound quality is good and also when using the SXM app on my phone. I use Android auto but it does support iphone Carplay as well.
I purchased this exact same head unit, and tried the exact method and file you did to fix the metric dashboard numbers, but it’s not working for me, saying the file is not supported. I spelled it correctly too. Maybe this file is model specific? Can you possibly be more detailed on how you got this to work? I’ve been in contact with support multiple times and they’re just a broken record telling me to do the same thing every time. I’m at my wits end with this unit and thinking about returning it.
Hello. Not sure if it's specific to a vehicle (I have a 2016 Ram 1500) but it should work if you are using the Simplesoft CANBUS setting for the JEEP_XP04 Jeep Grand Cherokee/2018 Jeep Wrangler. This is the choice that the file should fix. The file must be "unzipped" and then installed on a thumb drive in a folder called "simpplesoft" spelled exactly that way, but without quotes. The file inside the simpplesoft folder should end with .upde as a suffix. If you put the "zipped" file in there it won't work, so unzip the file from Junsun, then put that file (RP3-CH-002 V2.00.116BYPS_240919.upde) in that folder. Then when you follow the instructions and get to the right place it should work. Plug USB thumb drive into the USB cable from the radio. Go to Settings, System,About Device,Local Upgrade. Choose CAN Box Upgrade, then CANBox local upgrade. It will upgrade and you can change CAR INFO settings properly
@@petesreviews15 thank you for the reply and the detailed instructions. Unfortunately I’ve done this exact same thing you described atleast 10 times now and it just isn’t working. The only thing different is half of my unzipped file is showing up in Chinese letters. Maybe that’s the case. I also have a 2015 RAM. So I’m thinking either file related (Chinese letters) or vehicle model related. Support has been no help as they keep sending me copy and pasted instructions every time. Thanks again.
@@Hoffman1208 I can help you. I don't think your file is unzipped. The original file (with a .rar extension) has chinese characters but the unzipped file (that ends with a .upde extension) does not. You should be able to extract the proper file. Just right-click on the .rar file (with Chinese characters) and choose "Extract" then choose a folder to extract the .upde file to. I created a folder called "Upgrade" on the desktop and unzipped it there. If you can't do it, I can send it to you, but not sure if you can leave an email address on here.
@@petesreviews15 I got it!!! I did have it unzipped. But support got back to me and said they figured out that the update needed done within about 10 seconds of connecting the USB. I did it within 10 seconds and it updated and seems to have done the trick! Thanks for your help.
Sorry what you did worked for mine but my whole system now is metric ..but I did switch it but now it’s back to the same.. is the file for a override so it don’t switch back?
I did have to do the file update, which allowed me to get into the "car settings " section to make the change to US/Imperial units to fix the dashboard console units.
Thank you!!!!!! Great video with easy instruction to follow

@@Hoffman1208 Awesome! Glad to hear it worked for you!
Did you have to mess with the file to get yours to work .. or is the video correct?
Not sure what you mean by "mess with the file." Please be more specific and I'll do my best to answer.
