Hello Lordee, I have just bought the same Junsun unit (delivered already) and am waiting for the DAB box to arrive. Both videos of yours that I have seen are brilliant, as I was a bit nervous about buying a Chinese sat nav unit, but wanted one with maps included, rather than using my data to use the navigation. It also is more complicated for other people to drive the car and linking their mobiles. It also makes it the same as new cars with factory fitted sat-nav. I am a bit disappointed at the number of bits and pieces I have had to buy on top, i.e. rear camera extension lead, DAB antenna, radio removal tools and cable connectors. I hope the longest installation time will be to run the rear camera cable and install the DAB antenna. The head unit looks easy in comparison. Just subscribed, so I am watching out for more of your videos about the experience of using the Junsun. Many thanks.
I have just installed the rear camera cabling, DAB antenna, GPS antenna and external microphone that was supplied, but when I connect all the cable to the existing harness (Audi A3 8P), there seems to be no power as the unit doesn't switch on. The original one was an Audi Concert and could be switched on without the ignition on, but pushing and holding the on switch has no effect. First I thought that the Key 1 & Key 2 cables might be the power, but searches seem to say this is for the steering wheel control (I have a CANBUS unit included). Does anyone have any ideas why the power is not available? I am going to make sure the plugs are pushed in fully, but I a keen to see its operation as shown in this video. The company I bought it from provide d no instructions whatsoever and keep referring me to RUclips videos for installation guidance - aaaarrgggghhhhhh!
Hey dude... I'm no expert but are you in the uk? Might be easier to have a quick chat... ? In theory you new canbus supplied should fit in the then plug straight in and done.. defo check if pushed completely in.
Now sorted this. There were two options of a four pin connector on the two harnesses and just chose the other one. If only I had been supplied with instructions instead of having to search through RUclips videos.
Already upgraded my stereo a few months ago, as the one that was in when I bought it was badly damaged. So glad I seen this though... had no idea about that vent in the glove box! 😂 Also, regarding using TuneIn Radio for the DAB radio, shouldn't be too bad, used to use spotify anything up to 8-10 hours a day, most days, in the work van, never used much more than 10-15gb data a month, shouldn't be much different using TuneIn Radio I wouldn't have thought 👍
Hi.... used the an app all the way to work with no issues and perfect clear sound. I will see for a few days to see how this affects usage data and make a decision from there..... Tha is for the support.
I’ve ordered mine should be here by the weekend also bought the dab Ariel s o hopefully will have dab working, although as my windscreen is heated not sue where’s best to fit the Ariel. Any ideas???
Fitted my one into a 2015 Vauxhall Mokka and fitted the GPS antenna under the top of the dashboard it still works fine and it is out of sight altogether.
Just fitted the head unit. the radio is not working, but everything else is. Any ideas or best DAB device. Would DAB just connect via one of the USB outlets thanks
Looking good, you're braver than I am as I wouldn't tackle install myself so well done. I've had to order DAB add on for my android unit so waiting for that. Keep up the good work and good videos. John
So what i have done for the mo, is downloaded a radio app from play store which has the dab channels and using that via the phone's hotspot. It's been working well today, and have a 75g phone contract, so interested to see how much data it will use going to work and back for the next week before I make a decision on the dab usb... thanks for the support 👍
Hopefully it'll work out ok, I've connected my iPod via USB cable so that's working for me, sunlight is a pain on the screen tho when using Satnav app.
From ebay!! £20 ish.. just be mindful that you also really need to use your dab aerial from the roof. On my facelift I have two aerials that were connected to my original dab radio. Fm and dab. So I would get an adaptor to use that to get a far better signal than from the one supplied with the unit which you attached to your inner windscreen If you don't have one then look at a replacement roof aerial with has dab.....
Does your gps antenna work properly? I just read the manual and it says should be facing the sky. One of this day i will install my unit. Thanks in advance God bless
Did you ever do the DAB install? I had an Eonon unit, didn't have DAB either, but I got the cheap USB DAB adaptor anda splitter for the FM antenna and it works really great. Wouldn't even know it wasn't integrated as DABz application just sits as an icon near the Radio icon. Unfortunately my Eonon unit, after 4 years of use, developed a fault where the bluetooth chip drops in and out, causing the whole device to reboot randomly..... I am still considering if it is worth replacing it or just going back to factory head unit. Don't want to replace these every few years.
Hi mate - Nice vid. I have just installed a Junsun Android screen unit. My Audi A3 (2012) already had an Audi UHV Bluetooth connection with an excellent microphone for speaking. Now after installing the new Android screen, I can’t use the factory integrated microphone in the car. Is it possible to Connect the integrated mic and disconnect the shitty junsun mic?
My focus has climate control operated through the original touch screen. What are the options for a radio replacement when I don’t have a separate climate control cluster?
Do you have any plans to change the ugly radio bezel from the junsun? Maybe something like water transfer printing? Thats the only reason, why i do not changed my orignal big Navi NX in my RS. I do not find any company who can print it look a like the original carbon optic.

I think I pushed it bloody hard and it finally clipped in.. did you take out the hazard switch first? Or try taking out and start at the top and push the bottom in.. I remember it being a pain..
For thebfocus ST? So do you mean the main outer frame? It was a bit of a pain going in for me. It took several attempts to get it to sit properly even though the frame is the same as the original areas where it pops into place.. I think I removed the hazard switch and then put in after so it was not getting caught on that..

You should be able to set the steering wheel controls in the menu. You just need to apply to each button.. Go into settings and should be in there and then tap to highlight for volume up and down and selecting through stations and change media...
Thanks, why didn't the radio work? Don't think I want to rely on app for that. Where did U get the unit and loom from, how were you sure it would fit? My car also shakes at 100kph. Has for over 2 years but has got worse. I have changed rims and tyres in that time so don't think it is that. Thinking engine mounts which seems an issue for these cars. Have U ever had that problem?
Hello.... the radio didnt work due to the reception where I was, it was always bad even on my original unit. To have dab, purchasing a usb dab would have to be the way forward or using the app. As this unit does not have a dab input, which is silly really.... your issue with shaking could be balancing the wheels, top mounts, bushes, steering rack, mounts, so many things it could be. Only a garage for performance cars might be the option for you and run thought with them... mine moves around on the front, feels like the wheels are slipping, which could be the rack. More investigation needed..... thanks.

Yeah mate. Just highlight the button you want, volume up and down and that should work it? Same with the others. I just press on them to highlight blue and then they work
Hello, I have a problem with my aftermarket navigation, all of a sudden the sound and rear view camera stopped working. No radio sound, no youtube sound, *no video camera signal*. First symptom was, i turned up the volum up and down but stayed at 5.
I think strength of signal will depend on how aerial and your set up.. again using dab an outside aerial would be best. Some adjustments of the audio is requested to get a decent sound

Thanks.. you would have to purchase the additional AUX cable to support the output. It does not have a direct input on the device. If I can remember, if you go to the junsun store, you can purchase the outputs for having an amp. The connections into the device are completely different to any standard stereo.
I fitted one to my 2011 fiesta and it keeps changing my dashboard mileage to kms I change it back to miles in the vehicle settings menu and its on miles . When I switch off the ignition and switch it back on the display is in kms again
How did you pair android with steering wheel controls. I have clio IV and can not pair it. Enter the passport 8888 select my car, going through swc and nothing happen 😞

I don’t have data so I just use the built in radio app. Do you know how to permanently save the station name in presets? I can set the station but it keeps changing the name when I switch to a different preset (basically pulls whatever song name etc is being displayed & changes the name of the station to that)
The radio works, but the signal is not great. That could be down to my aerial which I changed for a small beesting one, and always had a drop out even with dab in the area I was in. So currently using an app for dab radio, which is using mobile data. Have the choice to buy a dab usb or use app for a crystal clear option..... New video to drop tomorrow morning for a one week review..... apps, speed and general workings for the unit. 👍
Hi.. this actually doesnt have dab pre-installed... I have not purchased a dab usb yet to test this, so I can not give u any advice on this.... this is one of the down points, but you can purchase a dab usb which I would have though will work. Stay away from the 1gb... Others on the market worth looking at, like Kingbeats... just make sure you view all information as the kingbeats one, the higher the gb gives you more options.... Good luck.
You need a dab usb and download the dab-z app from playstore Make sure to use the usb cable with the 6 pin . The 4 pin was incapable of powering my dab stick .The 6 usb seem to have more power capacity and I guess data channel runs through it . I bought a cheapo dab usb stick from eBay .Work like a charm .
I noticed that if my spotify is playing on the car radio. Then i shut the car down and pull the key. I can go to my phone and open spotify and it shows it is still playing on my car radio. I have to manually switch it

The new octacore is out. Probably a good idea to look at this. It's more money but it will be quicker and has better features, like card play etc.. I thinks that's around £150.
I got this one originally on ebay. But not if it's there now... if u google it should throw up options... I would think about an octacore option.. and plan for dab...
There is one called kingbeats. That looks good but you have to look carefully at the comparison list as it's all in Russian.. but the platform looked good, and also had an octacore option.. just dont get the 1gb models. It wont run at all as the internal memory is used up quickly with the android 9.1 and other pre installed functions to run...
Hey.. all.good at the moment but kind of wished I went for the newer octacore options on the market now which would be more up to date... only issue I have is the signal for the radio, so need to sort out dab..
You can save yourself a lot of work next time to not try and run that GPS antenna all the way to where you put it. It's perfectly fine to just stick it very close by the radio itself under the dash, you have perfectly fine coverage that way.

@@lordeest I tried with one. put it on before installing into car. buttons on the left don’t shine through it. took it off and it solved that issue as well as response to touch screen.

I think you can buy a separate usb stick to do this from junsun or the next model up which also has 4g option...

You might have the brightness setting down? Or not selected to automatic. Have a look in setting. Must be a tick button not selected

This one is old.. I think I put this up a few years ago! The new ones now have apple card play and android auto..

A bit of a pain... you get as well when you make a bluetooth call on the standard FORD bluetooth dab radio...
Hi guys, I am trying to install my nav but i have 3 wires with label on the : key2, auto ant and back. Do you know if I have to tie them somewhere or i just leave them hang în there?
I didnt use any other wires apart from the main loom plug.. just tucked them away..
Are you still using this stereo? Is it a decent system to go for.
The new octacore is out. Probably a good idea to look at this. It's more money but it will be quicker and has better features, like card play etc.. I thinks that's around £150.

I got this one originally on ebay. But not if it's there now... if u google it should throw up options... I would think about an octacore option.. and plan for dab...

There is one called kingbeats. That looks good but you have to look carefully at the comparison list as it's all in Russian.. but the platform looked good, and also had an octacore option.. just dont get the 1gb models. It wont run at all as the internal memory is used up quickly with the android 9.1 and other pre installed functions to run...

Hello... the frame is separate to the flat screen. So yes you can paint first. That's what I did. Sprayed it ford graphite grey

Hey.. all.good at the moment but kind of wished I went for the newer octacore options on the market now which would be more up to date... only issue I have is the signal for the radio, so need to sort out dab..

You can save yourself a lot of work next time to not try and run that GPS antenna all the way to where you put it. It's perfectly fine to just stick it very close by the radio itself under the dash, you have perfectly fine coverage that way.
the usb wire and 4g etc dont seem very long.were would you shove them?
I put the usb in the glove box...
@@lordeest nice man, I have the same unit, it was build in my second hand bought car, but can't for the hack of it find the usb connections, i do not know where the put it😭😭maybe you have a solution to find it

did you put a screen protector on it? the ones that that have the black borders seem like the light will come through but it won’t.
I didnt. Seemed fine without one....
@@lordeest I tried with one. put it on before installing into car. buttons on the left don’t shine through it. took it off and it solved that issue as well as response to touch screen.
the GPS antenna should be facing up
Thanks for the info.. I actually have another video showing someone broke in, couldn't take the car as I had security on, but then stole the radio.. have not replaced yet.. 👍
