Cooking Biriyani and Dosa is not easy but the FLAVOURS ARE AMAZING! I loved every single bite!
How do you think I did cooking those Indian dishes for the first time?
I didn’t expect you guys make your own food the whole day! Definitely nailed the challenge.
I think you did really well for a first attempt. Biriyani is tough to nail in the pressure cooker too. I started doing the Hyderabadi dum biriyani layering technique to not mush my rice.
Even s an Indian, I still don't dare to cook biryani in a pressure cooker 😅 as long as you enjoyed the taste, it's all 👍🏻😊
It's mind blowing Godfrey... Everything has got their first time... U've got great skills as a chef
This was a great idea and execution. I loved it. You both did everyone proud.
Assamese people laughing when the Indian buzzfeeder said that indians dont eat rice for breakfast 😂
Just to clarify Assamese people are not Bongs and we are descendants of royal Ahom Dynasty
Odias also eat rice or rice products for breakfast
When you know dosa is rice batter too 😂. But 50% ratio rice and other 50% is urud dal. In South , rice means full cooked rice not in any form of batter etc..
Maybe that's why she said that.
@@santhoshv3028 i think the ratio is 3:1
Even south indians eat rice for breakfast.. pulihora, puliogare or even curd rice , she's just ignorant
I guess she mean't boiled rice because I am from TN & people here mainly eat Dosa, Idly,Pongal, puttu, Idyappam(all made of rice) for breakfast
Two really appreciative people with the best vibes ever
As an Indian, I feel like there should be Asian food festivals each year in each asian country serially. For the common masses. I am damn sure it will be bang on. It will be a heaven of flavours. I wonder who to present this idea, to make it happen. 😍😁.
Best thing anyone ever said ❤
OMG YESS
Here in sentinel island we have.😆
@@wrongtiming8837 😂😂😂
Yeeeeeeeeess!
2:07 I'm an Assamese indian & we cannot start our day without rice😂😂...rice for breakfast rice for lunch rice for dinner...we just loveeee rice
Exactly...my head pounds if I don't eat rice in the morning
Its interesting to know this cuz in my state ( kerala ) we never eat rice for breakfast .( In other south indian states they have breakfast dishes like tomato rice ,pulao, rice bath )
High five from a bengali!
really even the egg plant bengena pitika 😂
@@smitanarjary we in madhya pradesh might eat this pitika in afternoon however we call it bharta.
As an Indian who lived in Philippines for 6 years, this makes me so happy!
Every mentioned dish is ❤
Wish could swap filipino and indian desserts / drinks / coolers since both countries have hot humid weather.
❤❤
Medicine?
I don't like Filipino food at all, it's all sweet and sour. Love the country and people though.
@@Jana_San_SS Yes.
To the Indian lady who cooked the Filipino dishes, I hope you get to cook more Filipino recipes!
I'm Filipino and my sister is a chef who was trained in Indian Cuisine while she was working at a well-known international hotel. About 6 years ago, she brought the chicken biryani and murgh makhani among other Indian cuisine recipes at home and it was well-loved by all family members. To me, to the point of obsession XD. When we have celebrations here, pancit is now often switched to biryani rice which goes very well with most of the Filipino celebration staples like lumpia, lechon kawali, calamares, etc. To me, Indian food is a comfort food.
We need more collabs with each of the buzzfeed international teams, learning to cook new cuisines dishes from scratch isn’t easy. Well done to both of these guys!!! 👏
She set up godfery up for failure since chicken Biryani and dosa is very hard to make. Not every Indian can even make this from scratch.
Dosa is not that hard to make but biryani is a whole process 💀 she did him dirty
Agree. Biryani is not a beginner's dish.
as a bengali indian, we love to eat eggplant with rice here!
As a Bengali Indian in the Philippines for the last 6 years I can say yes this dish is amazing and is keeping me alive for the past few years.
Easy to make, cheap and yummy.
Is either roasted , fried.. or Baguni 😂
The “just keep going, just keep going” was so cute.
As someone who grew up in a strict and conservative Filipino family, I'm happy to see Godfrey showed us we have to finish all what we have on our plate. And yes, those meals look delicious!
Love these food swaps, more, Please!
more coming soon!
I studied in a university with indians, pakistani and many more. Their food always smelled so good but I was to shy to come visit their canteen. As a filipino I love their cuisine but sadly I cant eat alot of spices due to reflux. I am happy we get to see this collab ! Love from my fellow indian brothers!! I always get hungry when I smell chicken biryani😂
You can enjoy northeast food. Even we cannot eat lot of spices, i myself only eat bhatura when I buy chola bhatura coz it's too spicy and my stomach can't handle it.
@@mimis.5139 Ok I will try that thanks my dudess
The trick to enjoying spicy Indian food without reflux is to pair the spicy dishes with cooling dishes like raita. It's why biryani is often served with some kind of raita❤
(I am Indian and suffer from acid reflux myself. I hope u won't hesitate to explore Indian food because of a fear of reflux)
Being a Filipino who just came back here in the Philippines after staying in India for three months, this video is just amazing. Love all the dishes featured here. Missing the biryani that made me gain 4kilos in 3months 🫣😂.
Haha! Glad you liked the food. U cd enjoy Indian food in Bollywood restaurant or Rich. They serve decent Indian food. I stayed in Manila for 2 years and it was a good time. Such hospitable and friendly people!
The aubergine needs to be cooked longer just because it’s quite thick. It just takes more time than the ones we have in Southeast Asia.
Yup we usually dint have thicc ones like that lol, the elongated ones are what is best to use
What's an aubergine? I assume it's a type of eggplant? Honestly that eggplant is THICC, it made me laugh.😂
Exactly what I was thinking.
@@HudaefCares It's another name for the eggplant, England and India use aubergine more
It's like Cilantro-Coriander situation, you can say
@@greengardens6959 nah bruv India uses brinjal the most
As an Indian living with Filipino co workers the soup is the best I ask them to prepare every week off they had just can't get over with the taste so simple yet so yummy:)
Honestly the soup on the tinola was kinda dark, dont know what went wrong with there. But it still looked good
@@wickednice5730probably she used marinate chicken.
Cooking biriyani in a pressure cooker is so intimidating, I know I’d mess the rice up too!
Such a great positive video.
Godfrey, rice in a pressure cooker is challenging! But Biryani is worth it😊
10:02
I’ve been watching every video that you’ve realesed and I really didnt expect for this collab to happen🥹, As a Half Filipino & Indian this is something I didnt except it. Now i’m in the PH for about 7yrs, I do miss Indian homemade food even though its a yr ago. Great video btw! 🥹🤍
South Indians do have rice for breakfast puliogare, pongal, chitranna (lemon rice), vegetable pulao and so on.....
I only eat pongal out of these for breakfast
Kannadiga??
Kannadiga 😊😊😊 because most of us have only Pongal from the above... Rest is usually kannadigas breakfast.. i was born and brought up in Karnataka but a Tamilian so I know 😊😊😊
I'm Telugu, and we have rice everyday but not for breakfast. Pongal is the only rice breakfast. Pulihora and others when we combine bf and lunch or during festivals.
We south Indians have such tasty bf options lol. I can eat them all day and not get bored cuz of the variety.
people have forgotten the basic rice breakfast that we all have ... Pazha choru ... rice soaked in water overnight eaten with old meen kozhambu if non vegetarian or just with yoghurt with a side of pickle if vegetarian
As an Indian I can confirm that Abhinaya hates Godfrey for some reason!!! Why would u torture him with most complicated dishes??? 😂😂😂
fr tho💀 i was like, "she gave him the toughest dishes to make out of the 284739364819 food items we have"😭
The collab we never knew we needed ❤️❤️
The collab was awesome... U should do it more often
And suggestion for next food swap videos is street food from Mumbai, that's vada pav, bombay masala toast sandwich and pav bhaji
you both did amazing!! I enjoyed this series so much!
As a Filipino, i really love indian foods
oh my we need more of these! You both are now my favorite.
I loved how they were so positive and appreciative towards each others foods😍nice people man
I think the dum process is safer, i just cook the chicken and rice separately and drain the rice from water to dry it, so I'm already sure the rice are gonna be separated.. then just add the rice and chicken in layers with bit of kewra water, saffron water(it's okay to do without these too), ghee, biriyani masala(store bought) and some fried onions, then let it sit for 10-15 mints,, and it's done, by this process the rice are generally one white and one colourful
The tinola looked more like adobo. 😂 I don’t know why the soup turned into that dark color, and I can tell that she didn’t really like the end result. It needs more ginger and more water. I suggest using chicken broth/stock if you’re going to try to prepare it for the first time to make sure you get the taste right.
The sautee took longer + there is less water
As a Filipino..bruh that tinola broke my heart😅
that tinola probably taste bitter lol
She probably burned the garlic, that happened to jessica lee a youtuber also
correctistan!
the women is very generous, it isnt a competition but all i can say is that Indian food is the best in the world, no one can beat the Spice King India.
love India from Philippines
When she says 'we' don't have rice for breakfast she's referring to herself cuz we do have a lot of breakfast rice dishes here in India 😅
both of you two have great energy, and all 4 foods looks great
aww they were both so sweet 🥺
I'm from Karnataka and we deffo do have rice based dishes for brekkie. It's nice to see other places do too!
I am filipino, and I love indian cuisine.. I always go to indian restaurant here in japan
Amazing video!!!! You should really try dessert or an appetizer from both country or street food. Yessssss😂❤
I usually cook my biryani in a pot, at first, I leave the lid on, and eventually I remove it to get rid of the excess water, so it doesn't become too soggy. Sometimes the sauce from the meat makes the rice too soggy. I can't really explain it, but you just have to eye it. Takes a lot of practice and patience.
I think khidchi would have been a better dish. It's almost as comforting as the chicken stew and it's pretty hard to mess up khidchi.
Took me about 5 years to perfect my biryani recipe!
khichdi is basic biryani is real food
@@Rishitha-gb4uu both are soul foods. Periodddt
I'm a Filo and I love Indian Food! I've been craving for some but there's not a lot of Indian restaurants in my area. What a shame.
It's great that they're doing some sort of cultural sharing using food, I would have recommended that the Tinolang Manok should have more water - the soup is HALF the pleasure of having Tinolang Manok (Chicken), I would have also added sliced green chili to the Tinola ;)
These are some amazing people, amazing food, and so nice to watch!! 😁🩷
To be fair to godfrey he wasn't told the most ideal and traditional way to cook biryani. It's always best to boil and drain the rice then layer the biryani masala and rice, then cook on slow with lid on until the remaining moisture is gone from the rice and the masala and fluffy rice are well-infused. Cooking biryani in a pressure cooker that way is way more tricky and risky compared to the traditional way.
I love her energy
That's chicken khichdi...😂😂
YES PLEASE!!! More swaps
Abhinaya: we don't eat rice for breakfast. Also Abhinaya: Dosa is a fermented rice pancake... Choose one!!!!!
Lol love the concept of the video. Would love to see more!
Hi fermented rice n urad dal batter is totally a different ball game bto...its good for your gut too as the batter is fermented
Poha crying in the corner
I think what she meant is just plain cooked rice and not rice based dishes
IM PROUD THIS VIDEO CAME UP OMG!! IM HALF INDIAN & HALF FILIPINO
Dosa is not easy to spread and you did such a great job
Also for the Biryani you did a great job it's not an easy recipe
Both of you guys did a great job ❤️
I guess the step where he went wrong was 3 cups of water. That's why it came out mushy. But no get's a perfect biriyani on their first try. Took me 5 times to get the prefect rice consistency.
This was so nice. Enjoyed watching this
Please add a recipe list and add a cooking method as well. These dishes look super tasty and I want to make them at home❤️
you did good with the Filipino dishes Abinaya! 👏👏👏
MOREEE OF THIS DUO
i knew he messed up the biryani the moment he added that much water to the little amount of rice he added in the cooker ,i was like stoppppppppp😂
Girl i love the way you said dosa and tamizhnadu..❤
damn girlie pulled up the hardest dishes of indian cuisine. Trust me even my mom doesn't make it bc its hard dflkhgmbf
I loved this entertaining video, good yummy vibes wit awesome duos👌👍
Abinaya, loved that you said 'dosai', 'Tamizh Naad' and didn't use cutlery with the rice. Good going on being authentic. Stay the same :)
Vaazhga valamudam🙏😌
Eggplant omellete will be much better if you will put minced garlic, onion, pepper and tomatoes in the egg and beat it all together then add the eggplant and fry it till the sides is crispy
In north east and east India specially in the states of west Bengal, assam, odisha, people consume rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner
For the eggplant omelete, after roasting it, you should cover it with a bowl for a while, so that it would be easier to peel later
In india we also take this eggplant thing at home the difference is we mixed it with mustered oil, onion, green chilly, chilly flakes nd dhaniya leaf.we dont add egg
Filipino and Indian cuisine - sign me up! Two of the best out there.
I love Biryani (Chicken, Veggie, Beef, fish)! Tikka Masala is great too! One of my favorites. We also make our own paratha and chapati for our breakfast or dinner
❤️ from Philippines ❤️
I’ve studied in the Philippines and all the mentioned food, are just 🤤😍 Please try more recipes 😂
adding slices of green bell pepper, in lieu of the chili leaves required, will give more flavor to the Tinola Soup. also, some spinach too.
In some other parts of India like the east/northeast we have rice for breakfast too! And even fish or eggs.
Native advice, side eggplant Omelet with minced fresh tomatoes and shallots on the side. Add salt or soy sauce or for adventurous dish mixed omelet fresh minced tomatoes and shallots and a teaspoon of BAGOONG. not sure if you call BAGOONG a fish paste or fish gravy but bagoong is if you want a salad dish. Add ons could be white raddish. 😁🥗
Good thing she liked the tortang talong. Cooking it is quite tricky than what the guy said as depending on how cooked the eggplant is its texture and taste will varies. It should have same texture consistency as a scrambled egg but if its not cooked properly the middle part usually of the eggplant will be harder and wont have much depth in flavor.
for a first time... you should never have attempted it in a pressure cooker.. should have just given him instructions to parboil the rice separately and then assemble the biriyani. Its a little extra work but is far harder to mess up comparatively! loved the effort though.. loved the enthusiasm.. very pure and beautiful energy!
Cant believe you cooked dosa so authentically without any practice 🤣
South i dian breakfast items...ufli, dosa, upma, aappam, adai, ediyappam ,red, green and cocomut chutney, vdg korma, coconut milk as a condiment for asppam n ediyappam...after breakfast im super tired...though on modt days its fosa eith chutney n idli eith sambar something different needs to be msdevatlesst once or twice s week
Charred Brinjal with eggs cooked in pure mustard oil is an ethinic dish of Assam Northeast India that we have with rice and daal
Same in West Bengal. We call it begun pora. You can be creative and add onion, coriander leaves, tomatoes if you like. It's delicious
Have already put in an Amazon order for biryani masala. So excited to try and make this.
I am not sure, but I think she customised the biriyani recipe to make it easy for Godfrey. Raw rice cooked in meat broth is pulao or tahiri, not biriyani.
Godfrey did great with the instructions, he can do better next time 😊
Love the vibes
Indian food certainly is the more intricate food.
I'd cover the pan with lid while making dosai so the steam cooks the top & it doesn't dry & break, which is what happened to your dosai 😢 also, fresh grated coconut & make it more watery.
I remember the first time I tried dosa it was soooo good!!
The tinola could use more water since it’s a soup. The biryani might have too much water or it was overcooked.😅 either way, the flavor was there.
I feel bad for godfrey that he had to do soo much haha but still worth it !!
Ok wow Godfrey, how did u get the dosa right on just your second try?! Well done, mate!👍🏾
I am honestly impressed by how Godfrey was able to make a dosa :)
Im a Filipino and lamb keema with paratha is one of my favotire breakfast,
ta'ameya falafel, mutton biryani the best!
See getting rice to a perfect cook is difficult in pressure cooker so you can cook rice separately
until 80% done and chicken separately. Then layer them in a pot and cook together for 20 mins. It'll taste the same and you will know how much you have cooked your rice.
Really you had to give him the Biriani..😂.. it's one of the toughest dish.
Am Tamil and my wife is a filipina. I love the adabo and the egg plant omlette she cook and she like the biriyani and fish curry i cook. Am living in Chennai cheers guys. Good job
Tortang talong + rice + banana ketchup = perfection 😗👌
I loved loved loveddddd this video
let it cook for 1 whistle!!!! I had to repeat this several times. I wonder how long this would be on an instant pot.
I love indian food ❤❤❤ from Philippines 🇵🇭 i think indian food is the best.!
Maraming salamat ❤❤❤
Gusto ko ito ang vlog!
One of the best swaps ever!
LOVE FROM MADURAI❤
"We don't have rice for breakfast" proceeds to eat idli dosa every morning
Well hello Godfrey!!!❤
2:10 in northeast india we have rice for breakfast, lunch, dinner 😂♥️
and both must have been happy
