The only thing that upsets me is that the lower part of the door panels where the door pockets are is hard plastic. They should at least be a soft squidgy plastic or covered in leather as an option. Also, the boot should have no plastic too it should be fully covered in carpet.

Its wonderful to drive been a driver for 8years only owned all 3 models never driven another car if a new driver strait after passing can drive it that just shows how great they are (GL420 THEN GL350 AND THE 400D ) ALL GREAT
I personally think there great as they make maneuvering in and out of the vehicle much easier.. also if you were to be driving someone elderly this would help a great deal! I never found my legs rubbing on them so personally no problem there

Your key fob you said is temperamental. I have that issue (my one complaint). Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Brought it to dealer twice and they are not sure why. Do you have that issue sometimes?
It's a lovely car isn't it! Are you pleased with the overall spec and drive ability of yours? When I spoke to the dealership regarding the boot not opening they could not come up with a justifiable reason for it so I can inky put it down as a fault in the system

I spoke to service manager on the phone and told him. He said bring it in a third time and they are just going to speak with Mercedes headquarters on why this happens. I said the iPhone app works great to open the car. He laughed and said, "ironically, we get many more complaints about the app than the key fob." Does yours have such issues?

If you look at it from a technoglogy perspective, this has more gadgets than the Bentayga. Yes, Bentayga may use a higher grade leather and self closing doors, but when it comes to navigation and infotainment, the GLS and GLE are really top notch.
@J Knox Your last comment is completely false. Mercedes-Benz technology is way ahead of Audi. Did you not see the software in Audi products? It is not even close to Mercedes-Benz products. Come back when you've *actually* tried out the MBUX infotainment and navigation on it.

Depends on what your after. The Range Rover does have nicer feeling materials but only by a small margin and the Range Rover has more of a waft whereas this feels more planted on the road but still really soft. Technology is way better in the GLS with quicker and less buggy infotainment systems. Build quality is also better inside the gls but some areas do feel cheap like the bottom of the doors (mostly areas you don’t often touch directly) the gls feels more solid overall. Mercedes engines are far more reliable than land rover’s notability the diesels but I drive petrol.
This is my second favourite after the Vogue... I know the Vogue has its issues its just my personal preference but the GLS is still an unbelievable piece of kit
Annoying with the "new vehicles", especially German. The GLS400 is the "equivalent" of previous 4.0l engines. BMW AND Mercedes are terrible on this.....high number, but get a 4cylinder.....grrrr! Understand the times, but would rather have an n/a engine for longer life and less problems that get very expensive on the turbos. Mr .P

Thus this makes the new model third row smaller and lower in ceiling than previous model and other big suv. I saw some other reviewers sitting in third row admitting it is for good for long journey there due to too limited space. I love and also bought previous model of gla rear part is more big square and third row is slightly better than this new model. Also more than 50% commenters on RUclips said the models have better interiors but they still prefer exterior of previous model. Before 2019. And there maybe more. Just examples of reviews. You give all good words of it like a fun instead of a third party reviewer. Frankly speaking. Remember this Ltd suv more for family companies to gle or smaller. No point to make family suv smaller at rear just for exterior curved look. Look at all European cars I last decade the smaller lower more curved for young consumers. I can see Audi suv half toot when standing outside of it. Land Rover Discovery and degrade boxy body style is gone and all curved and compacted exteriors although interest space is still bigger than other brands . X5 was big and then more curved and smaller. And then they bigger bigger one as x7 . What a idea cycle. New Mercedez e class looks like a c class size and shape if look from a distance. It was bigger for business man . Personal view only. Not quite sure on mercedes naming strategy but the 400d is actually a 2.9litre inline 6. Fooled me too.

This car actually uses 2.9 Litre.
guy said its a 4ltr................its a 3.5ltr with turbo, if your going to do a video albeit 4 years old, at least get the basics right.
