Yes - it looks lovely. BUT - my wife bought a new GL - before the model was rebadged GLS. We have run large MBs and BMWs in the family for a long time - because they are safe - however the GL was by far the worst car we have ever bought. I have lost count of the number of times it had to be towed into MB dealer. On top of this the maintenance bill over the years has been amazing. It was a load of rubbish - there was always something breaking down. MB have lost the plot - they no longer produce quality cars - they get killed on the reliability rankings. This RUclips do NOT cover RELIABILITY which is ESSENTIAL.
The netted pockets aren't a good idea. It seems like a cheaper option. Nets stretch and look ugly. They used to have ones that are closed and shaped to the front seat. And yes, like someone commented here, the quality of the materials and plastics isn't as good as the X7 or new Audi Q7.
Drove this and the X7, I think the X7 interior not as flashy, but is leaps and bounds better in quality and the infotainment is quicker on bmw. Not really a fan of Mercedes atm.
To be honest the model looks smaller than previous. Why all European cars seeks to be curved , compacted and smaller in last ten years? Just for saving parking space and fuel ?
I don't think there's an intense attention to detail. Some of the buttons in the dash a flimsy and there are cheap plastics on the doors. Even cheaper audi cars are better in terms of quality
