- The 2024 BMW M2 coupe is worth getting up early for. After all, the first-generation model quickly established itself as a classic, so this new second-generation successor has some big shoes to fill.
But it should have no trouble rising to the occasion, given it's got a brand-spanking new twin-turbo petrol inline six-cylinder engine to play with, while a rear-wheel-drive layout has been maintained to ensure it remains as playful as possible.
That said, is the new M2 as good in reality as it is on paper? In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton finds out by putting the sports car through its paces. Spoiler alert: it's a better bet than its M4 big brother!

I want one
So upset to find this review and it not have a manual. Only want an M2 because of the manual and cannot find a decent review.
I have a manual M4 comp, it's a great and engaging car. Many petrolheads want manuals, but unfortunately very few customers actually buy them making it uneconomic for manufacturers. Interesting that BMW now charge more for the manual optioned cars.
Looks like the vertical BM grill is being quietly buried ..RIP.

Not sure for the cost why you wouldn't get a Cayman (718) GTS 4.0.
I’m in the USA and the M2 is a much better buy. Less than $70k vs. over $100k for the Cayman GTS.
In Australia, the price is 132 vs 200K.
Also the cayman is the 2 seaters.

IMHO front looks too squarish. Brown leather + black colour scheme inside just doesn't jive with the M namesake.

bro the crazy thing is something like a Mustang is an easy 100k right now. Everything fun seems to be double the price it was only 5 years ago.
My favorite eventual car after i get rid of my M4 but this car is not going for over$100,000 in New Jersey so i don't understand where is this guy located for them to be so expensive, for that i should just get a 911 Porsche turbo.

It looks absolutely awful, even worse than a G series M3/M4 . Such a shame M have lost there way so badly. It seems they're trying too hard to be radical and different whereas Porsche just keep it simple and beautiful.
