Wow, my memory just got jarred. Between '69 and '75, between Fresno and the bay area, I witnessed these guys probably 8 or 10 times. I thought they were just phenomenal. They knocked it out of the park everytime😂They opened for everyone. I remember when Jim Morrison and the Doors got banned from Selland arena so they played at the fairgrounds 9 months later and the City of Fresno told them not to come back. EVER LOL We'd catch Carlos Santana a couple times a month with groups like TheDead, Big Brother w/ Janis, E.L.O. , Doobie Brothers and the like. S.N.N. was very popular with everyone. They had 3 horns for while, but they were very professional. Never got tired of seeing them. I gotta tell ya, sometimes I wonder how I survived all that😂
I grew up with the TV show (and even met them once), but I had the double live album with versions like this (maybe a little too fast...) and before these videos (and that concert from Germany), I'd really never seen the original lineup.
Love these little sha na na gems you are posting lately ❤ first time I've seen these . I've been a close friend of Lennie Baker's for many years . Thanks for sharing 😊❤

That's Johnny Contardo's specialty!
Near the end, they looked more like they were dancing than fighting!
It's West Side Story fighting... Pow Pow Pow !!!
It's hard to believe that Sha Na Na wasn't even formed until 1969 and started performing at the height of the hippie culture.
I was only 2 years old at that time, so I was too young to watch it!
@@LisaKoffler Oh wow. That's how old I was. I first knew them from the tv show.
gemini67, I was 10 years old when their show came on TV!
