      agree! these videos mix both easy words/expressions that I already learned and difficult words that I rarely heard. This is really useful to refresh my memory.

    Thank you for explaining the connotation of 'Betsuni.' I hear that all the time in anime and I probably would not have picked up on the passive aggressive connotation without someone pointing it out!

    Thanks for this, I’ve been living in Japan for 4 years now and confidently responding to store staff has always been an issue because they speak so fast and you never learn natural Japanese from textbooks. 😊👍

    This is so useful. When I first moved to Japan I actually bought clothes I didn't want one time because I didn't know how to say 'no' to the shop clerk politely!

    Stuff like this is so helpful... I remember visiting Japan with my BA in Japanese studies (i.e. being able to read academic texts and newspapers) but not even knowing simplest Japanese like how to politely tell the cashier that I don't need a bag. XD

    Can you make a video on making business calls? For Ex. Calling the reception then asking if we can speak to a certain person > then making some of conversation with that person about business > etc.

    within a week, you made 2 useful and practical videos , thanks very much. In the video, i saw using て form to connect 2 verbs, 合わせみて、みてみあす、seem a very useful way to express oneself. Hope in near future , you can make a video on this topic. Again appreciate your effort.

    This is very helpful and exactly what I was looking for. I remember shopping in Japan many years ago and didn’t know how to respond to the store clerk’s question. I would say “けっこうです” or “いらないです” which may not be the right way to respond. This time when I go back to Japan and shop, I will know how to respond without offending the clerks. :)

    First time walking into a store when in Japan, clerk screams ”いらっしゃいませ!” At the time I knew little Japanese and I turn to my wife asking if I did something wrong lol.

    I love your videos, we can improve to the next level from basics. It's also very nice to learn the culture, and how to express ourselves very nicely, avoiding saying "no". In this matter English language is quite similar, so it's good to absorb this kind of thinking. :)

    I always freeze and pull the foreigner's card when shopping because 1. I have no idea what they said, 2. no idea how to respond. The pressure suddenly mounts up and I always kick myself when I leave because I didn't try. Hopefully this will help in the future!
