Have a nice cold one Andy.
Frog down, nope, never heard of it, and I would never do anything as a bricklayer to make the scaffs life any harder just like they don't for us.
Fell about laughing regarding the bag. They are bloody notorious for it now.

    Andy,
Hemel Hempstead, I know it well. I live in Harpenden, which is about 11 miles away.
I remember the Putlog scaffolds very well indeed and building those spade-ended putlogs into the wall as work proceeded. We used to crack on with the house scaffolding - not a ticket, nor method statement or risk assessment to be seen.
Remember the "spigot joints?" Working on a larger scheme where we had proper scaffolding done by professionals, all of the standards were joined together with spigots which caused a plane of longitudinal weakness along the front of the scaffold......eventually the scaffold failed at that point and the scaffold came away from the walling. The spigot joints acted like a "hinged-joint" and the entire scaffold tipped backward away from the wall. No one killed luckily.
Those existing concrete repairs look shite. Concrete repairs done correctly by experienced people should last. Those looked like a splodge, smear & run job......
You should do a video on concrete repairs its an interesting topic.
    P U B ? I know one or two in Hemel...
    😁👍👍

Ive done plenty of concrete repairs, dont get involved now. Spigot joints yes they really weren't fit for purpose, unfortunately Hemel is to far from home to start drinking but i did spot some nice looking looking pubs.

During 80s and to mid 90s did all our own pudlock scaffolding as a 2 and 1 gang to new build and extensions

Never had any issues with it at all, albeit we never used machines to load up ,everything was loaded up by hand, if we were two or three lifts up we all spent half a day loading out and hoddie kept us going with everything else

It's nice to do something different now and again. I'm doing some plastering/skimming for an agency next week. Money isn't as good as I'd get on the trowel but you need to change things up a bit now and again. Makes you more marketable as well.

Frog down is an utter ball-ache when it comes to chasing out clean slots in pointing or making good afterwards. It wouldn't be so bad if the frogs were full, but I rarely come across any which are.
Plenty of 50s/60s buildings could have asbestos in them, so better safe than sorry re. ppe. Fall arrest stuff has its place but not at hop-up height...
I know the Hemel and Snorbens area well.

Yep nothing worse than putting a lintol and trying to pack the bed joint in above it and they are frog down.
