Not much skill in building a straight wall. Competitions I entered in the 70’s was building decorative brickwork, following complicated plans. More examples of Britain going down the pan.

When will they announce who got through,and where in Warrington is the North heats?I must admit I enjoyed that,your doing a good job with the oppo I have one myself I have no problem with it ,you won't see me wasting my money on an apple,see you next time😊
It's a competition for a bricklayers to lay the wall fastest, it does have stringent rules for plumb level and pointing finish. In my opinion anything that promotes the trade is good.I can tell you now that whoever wins the final won't be far short of 800 bricks in an hour, how about have a go yourself next year you need to lighten up it's just a bit of fun👍

I agree, i think it should be a 2 part comp, one part speed then another project with some plumbing points.
Why work backwards when y right handed
Any bricklayer should be able to work both ways, personally ime right handed but ime quicker backwards.

Yup good to see Brickie’s getting on and young trowels coming threw. It is fun yes but not for me , speed means nothing if it’s rough as.
The amount of muck the American is dropping, you could shovel back up and fill a tub , good technique in fairness

360 was winner which equates to 480 in a hour, Charlie has done high 700s in practice.
