Love Norm, but the riddle makes no sense.. this mans (my) father is my fathers son, would mean that the father is the father of the father himself.. the father is his own son? Also the more i hear his gay stories/jokes and the way he says them and the fact that is it Norm who says them, makes me think he really is gay.. that would be the most brilliant Norm-gag he had ever pulled off..

They are just true observations that are presented in a straight forward matter. The fact that he can make people laugh with such nonchalance is what makes him a true genius.
No, it's the teller of the joke. He's "this man" who is his father's son. Otherwise, there is no riddle, and no joke. Like the uncle in the joke when he gets back to his wife, you are telling it wrong.

You can do that because he has no brothers. So it boils down to: "This man's father IS ME" Meaning: The man in question ("this man") is indeed his son.
