This is a perfect example of how humour should correctly be employed in action movies. Funny enough to make you smile, but subtle and infrequent enough to not spoil the solemn atmosphere.

Not true at all Q and Bond have the most bland chemistry ever. They're just forced together into this weird dynamic where they both just sorta have disdain for eachother for boring reasons and they're story just doesn't evolve at all. The best relationship in terms of chemistry would be without a doubt Vesper and Bond.

I also kinda like how the Daniel Craig films gave the five of them a family dynamic of sorts, with... *M (Judi Dench)* as the sassy, tough-as-nails mom who calls all the shots around the house, and whom everyone misses terribly after she dies, *M (Ralph Fiennes)* as the new stepdad who may sometimes argue with Mom and the kids, but is always there for them when it really counts and will not hesitate to (literally) take a bullet for them if need be, *Bond* as the rebellious oldest child who breaks all the rules and argues the most with the parents, but still has a lot of love for the family underneath it all, *Moneypenny* as the sweetheart middle child who acts as the peacemaker of the family and more or less gets along with everyone (but occasionally has a slight rebellious streak as well), and *Q* as the socially awkward youngest child who wants no part in his big bro’s shenanigans, but somehow always ends up being dragged along for the ride.

I totally agree the gadgets need to make a massive comeback. This gritty grounded feeling has kinda ruined these films for me making them feel like any dull thriller in my opinion. I've mostly been clinging to the classics... I just hope No Time To Die is back to true Bond status. Plus I'd say SPECTRE is copying Austin Powers now with the Adopted Brother angle they did for Bond and Blofeld. It was all unnecessary.

A running gag through the bond movies is Q lecturing bond on bringing the car back in one piece. This is even better. Q gets in a little dig that Bond doesn't get the car but gives him a watch. And Bond asks if it does anything? Like a disappointed little boy who got socks for Christmas. Beautifully play for those of us with a history to characters no matter who plays the role.
