    Nice set up. Dude. It’s coming along. Great to have a bit of couple time. I would personally say to get a stand alone diesel heater to keep the tent warm for the good lady. They are relatively inexpensive and just need a 12v power supply. Happy wife. Happy life 😜

      Haha thanks James, I have been looking into diesel heaters. Maybe for next year when the set up is a bit further along

    Evening.
    Firstly, the drone shots were absolutely amazing. What a fantastic area.
    Roof tent looks a great bit of kit. Nice touch, the sky light too. With that open laying under the stars on a hot summers night.... Brilliant.
    Here's looking forward to seeing many more trips away.
    Grub looked top notch.
    Glad all went well for you both.
    Stay lucky. Stay safe. Stay healthy.

    Great content Dan! Looked like a
    Successful first foray into roof tent camping. I see what you mean about those headlights. Are they an improvement on the standard items? I suspect they are. Thanks again for your efforts - I really enjoyed watching this. Cheers

      Thanks Stuart! I’m not sure how much better they are though, I do prefer the standard look

    Mr Nort Explorer where can I find this type of headlights (circular+base), as they look great in the Discovery. Greetings from Portugal!

    • @TheNorthernExplorer
      @TheNorthernExplorer  Год назад

      Hi Bruno! Thanks for your comment, the headlight adapter is from a company called bro rover, not sure if they are still making them though. The circular lights are just 7 inch led units for a defender.

    Hello , i was wondering what size quilt you use ? And do you use a mattress topper? If so what size and do you leave them in or remove them before dismantling. Thankyou

    • @TheNorthernExplorer
      @TheNorthernExplorer  Год назад

      Hi Sara, we just use our home quilt which is a king size duck duvet but we will be investing in a double down sleeping bag. We haven’t got a mattress topper yet but I’m looking at self inflating mats to put under the mattress that we could leave in the tent. We can’t leave bedding in the tent as it won’t close.

    I vote keep the round headlights, they look good, and are different.

      @TheNorthernExplorer  Год назад

      Haha too late, I already sold them on. I agree they are different but I just couldn’t get used to them

      @@TheNorthernExplorer Hey, am requesting information on where I could get such headlights, do they come with the black surround?

    Great video, nicely set up. Whereabouts is the log burner/bbq from? Looks a sturdy bit of kit.

    • @TheNorthernExplorer
      @TheNorthernExplorer  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you, the log burner is actually a cheap eBay special, I think it was only £11. It is okay for the price but has warped a fair bit with the heat

    looking at getting a roof tent, any preferences to having it side or rear mounted? Btw if your ever in norfolk let me know I'm assistant norfolk glass rep.

    • @TheNorthernExplorer
      @TheNorthernExplorer  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks mate! May venture down that way at some point. I think it depends, over the side gives you a handy spot for sitting under and also fits on the roof a bit better. We have it over the back as it gives shelter for cooking at the rear and we now have an awning on the side to sit under
