I actually enjoyed playing the game in several sections. I think the "open world" aspect of it slowed things down a bit, but the moment to moment gameplay was quite fun
This Max could be the the most efficient and realistic looking action game character. Especially within the Arkham fighting system characters. He's utilization of grappling and no fancy strikes and the weight of his moves is superb. Would love to see a sequel with a fighting system like this.
I ain’t gonna lie I have let out some pain noises upon seeing and hearing the impacts from some of this game just Jesus fucking hell he’s a straight up machine and each impact sound so crunchy and I love it
I've heard whispers this game is finally getting a sequel, so just imagine how much they can build upon the combat, especially if Bren Foster is still playing Max.
Nice video! Here's some future video suggestions: MCU: Crossbones, Iron Fist, Bushmaster, Antman, Erik Killmonger, Moon Knight, and Taskmaster. Video Games: Gray Fox (Metal Gear series), Vega (Street Fighter), Link (The Legend of Zelda series), Travis Touchdown (No Mores Heroes series), Dante (Devil May Cry), and Kenshi (Mortal Kombat).
I love this game so much. I think it perfectly adapts the free flow combat to Max and makes it feel distinct from the Arkham games. The vehicle combat is also sick as fuck
Glad you enjoyed it! I tried to cover every single move in the game, it's why I recorded all of my brawls where I would identify something new while I was playing.
@@Godzillarex Your welcome dude. Seeing these videos adds to my list of martial arts that I want to try out one day. Also now I want to play this game there's a sale on the PlayStation Store and its original price was $19 now it's down to $4
@@Godzillarex Oh I didn't know thanks man, gotta play catch up so I'm not behind when you release the next one. Can't wait to see what the next video is.
@@Godzillarex I'm not sure if I asked or if someone else has asked but have you did or considered doing a how many fighting styles for Wei Shen from Sleeping Dogs?
A fight scene I think that would be interesting to breakdown is the scene of Rambo escaping from the police station. Appreciating that Rambo’s not exactly a master martial artist, that is my favorite fight of those films because it displays the extent of Rambo’s arsenal of techniques and how frenzied his PTSD made him in the scene. The editing and choreography are very 80’s but still enjoyable since Stallone did techniques he was capable of. In the fight Rambo employees a front kick, side kick, push kick and what might be the sloppiest roundhouse kick I’ve ever seen ( seriously when I first saw it as an adult I thought it might have been a front kick from the side) and he uses a drop kick. Rambo also has a lot of elbow strikes and punches, and goes for the eyes. Even with the 80’s over the top choreography the moves are all basic and except for the drop kick all techniques you will find in any military hand-to-hand combat manual. Actually reconsidering, Rambo himself might not be a bad option for a how many fighting styles video🧐 At other points in the first film he uses palm strikes, knees, and dislocated a man’s shoulder, and that’s not counting his knife skills. And in the third film he is shown practicing Kali stick fighting, and later on using a hook kick and grappling techniques ( mostly wrestling and a rear naked choke) so he’s actually a much more versatile hand-to-hand combatant than I originally remembered.
It's so simple, if you find yourself surrounded or facing multiple attackers, just use your pocket fragmentation grenade. Everybody zeros out, or everybody walks. On a serious note, I fucken love this video. I also feel like this is a good sumup of how zombies take the w so often.
As always , great video , Godzillarex. Now do you think you can make a fighting styles video on tremor from Mortal Kombat X and another video about Captain falcon from Super Smash Bros , please ?
I don't think so. I'm going to be stepping away from Fighting Styles content for awhile, if not for good. I just think I've said everything that needs to be said on the matter for now.
Well ok then . Though it's a shame because I was really curious about Tremor and Captain Falcon but it's your decision so I mustn't complain but I must respect and accept it .
I know, this has been for a while, but...can you make Kratos's martial arts video. I mean, he's a "God of War" anyway, so I think he should be in these type of videos.
I know I've said this before but please make a video of Yu Ominae from Spriggan. Dude was part of what is essentially a modern day Agoge, which made him into a super skilled soldier for his age. Dude has defeated special forces operators from Spetsnaz and the SAS, including people from the same modern day Agoge as he was.
I don't do Anime. Animation is way too inconsistent. What may look like one technique to me might look like something else to another, leading to an inaccurate analysis.
Krav Maga draws heavily from martial arts such as Boxing and Muay Thai. Can you explain, please, in more detail, which are the other martial arts that Krav Maga is heavily drawing its techniques from?
There is a large Jiu-Jitsu influence nowadays in it too, as well as Kali. Jiu Jitsu for the groundwork techniques, Kali for the knife techniques, Muay Thai for the kicks, Boxing for the punches. What is uniquely Krav, most of all, are the disarms. And it makes sense, it was a fighting style created specifically for fighting armed combatants, so it usually assumes the other guy has a weapon, or you have a weapon.
@Godzillarex There is another fighting style that I would like to know more about. It is called Dutch Kickboxing. Can you, please, teach me more about this fighting style?
Love the vid and so happy we’re getting more Fighting Style Breakdowns! But one thing I have to point out around the 5:20 mark is the comment on palm strike vs a punch. The idea that palm strikes are less risky than bare-knuckle punches is a myth, if you’ve had even a little bit of proper training in throwing bare-knuckles punches they are more effective in almost every striking scenario.
Glad you liked the video! But it's not a myth at all. I've literally seen it and practiced it in my Taekwondo and Boxing classes. A properly thrown palm strike uses the fleshy underside of your hand that has no small bones to accidentally fracture. Throwing a punch puts your entire hand and wrist at risk. Why do you think boxers bandage their hands and wear giant gloves? Hands aren't built to withstand that kind of impact for a prolonged period of time. Both Jeff Speakman and my 5th Dan Taekwondo instructor agree. Furthermore, I wouldn't parrot something I didn't practice first hand or done extensive research on.
Bienvenidos a inside gaming latino..**aplausos** soy Adrian Acevedo Smith... Que tiempos, ahora me acordé de ti por un logo de machinima.y me pregunté en qué estabas.
Can you do Micheal Jai whites character from blood and bone?! I was always interested in knowing what type of martial arts his character practiced in the movie. He's seen doing taekwondo style spinning heel kicks and practicing tai chi kata but also using jiujitsu locks and hold while throwing elbows like in muay Thai.
Glad you liked the video! I've already analyzed 3 RE characters and both Jill and Chris underperformed, which means I won't be revisiting RE in Fighting Styles again.
A video determining the fighting style of Jim West from The Wild Wild West (tv show, not the movie) would be pretty cool, but it would probably be inconvenient for you because the show has five seasons. Robert Conrad was THE TV tough guy in the 60s, with an amateur boxing record of 29-2-1 and a pro record of 4-0-1! Eat your heart out, Kirk!
Max got some feeling behind those hits. Sometimes video game characters come across as sterile combatants (arkhams batman) even though it's a fluid style of play I LOVE characters like this who you can just tell hate the people they're killing
Can you please cover Ratonhnhaké:ton from Assassin's Creed 3? Like most things in Assassin's Creed, the combat is very nuanced and poorly explained, so I can help you make sure you find every move. Just reach out!
I gotta ask we gotta know about kazuma kiryu's fighting styles especially how in yakuza 0 amd kiwami 1 he has multiple fight styles that he puts together to make his signature style from all the other games
Might I recommend Kazuma Kiryu from the Like A Dragon/Yakuza series? He's a very well rounded fighter being able to defeat opponents of varying skill levels throughout the franchise.
Make the video of the deadshot in injustice 2 what fighting styles you know how to shoot who know how to fight what martial arts and acrobatic movements you have sweeps that's how it goes
Has anyone suggested a complete Ezio auditore trilogy analysis for understanding the styles and the skills of the irreplaceable assassins creed protagonist
When Max works, it works so well, but I couldn't help but feel that sometimes it felt off. Like the timing just wasn't there 💯 percent of the time. Shadow of Mordor is sooo good!
Could you talk about the Master Chief's combat style now please. And you can base it on her fighting style from the game Dead or Alive since Bungie was in charge of evaluating that the character of Spartan Nicole is canon as her movements and her fighting style are the one used by the Spartans.
I don't do Fighting Style videos for the time being anymore. I'm taking an extended break from them having said almost everything I've ever wanted to say about martial arts.
love this game! Unfortunately not a lot of replay value after you beat the main game. Wish camps could be retaken and more trucks would drive around with parties for you to take down. I would say once you max out your camp the survival aspect dissapears completely as your water, ammo and gasoline get filled up, thus taking away the fear of not having enough anymore.
He had an excellent showing in that film, it's a shame that the movie as a whole was so disappointing. I've already analyzed Batman 4 times, so a 5th analysis would be a little overkill haha
This game was a pure gem and underrated, in my honest opinion. Avalanche Studio should definitely sweeps out a sequel rapidly.
