I have used a version of this trick before, but your idea of moving the washer to the inside of the bearing cup is much better! This also works for the many WLToys clones such as Deerc/Enoze/etc which all share a nearly identical 1/10 hub design.
Watched this the other day, M3 washers in a K969 just saved me loads of frustration on some new drift wheel's and tires I just got. This was very helpful! Cheers!
Thank you sir for this wonderfull video. Could you tell me the dimensions in metric that I would need? I guess 4 mm inside and 7mm outerside? Thank you so much. Greetings from the lowlands (Dutchie)
Thanks for this . Ive got a maverick strada with awful wobble. Ive tighted everything up. Only solution i thought was bigger bearings! But thats complicated
Ah thank you buddy. Transferring them across takes so much time but I don't want to just delete them. And I course love making them. 😊 I am just going to streamline everything and work on quality. 😀👌
Hi John, it's a good solution, but if you want to avoid this and also that the cup goes more into the dogbone, could you put the orings on the inside? Thank you in advance
Nice tip, its hard to believe it can happen to disconnect during drive and lost the spring. Anyway, what oil thickness do you recommend for SCY16101 for common driving and bashing with no big jumps? THX
I noticed that play when I first took off a tire from my car and asked myself it this was supposed to be that way. Now after adding washers to my WLToys 124007, it's so much better - thanks a lot! 👍 (==> subscribed ✅)
I changed the inside bearing for a bigger(mr742rs) and now I find that the wheel doesn't turn anymore, so I have to loosen it and the wooble comes back 😅 So I guess I will stick to original bearings 🤔
Try putting some spacers between the inner races of the bearings... cartridge bearings dont like being loaded the way the wheel nuts are loading them(axial loading). Usually when the 2 bearings are say, 5mm apart in their housing; you'll see flanges on the axles or spacers on the axles that are 5mm wide as well, to prevent loading the inner bearing race. Like skateboard wheels. Now.. you dont *need* flanges on the axle, a simple spacer between the inner races will do just fine since these are essentially floating axles. But it sounds like bearings binding up bc of axial loading :)

What a brilliant idea!!

Years ago i added o ring behind the bearing worked great...thanks for sharing
What size was the washers?
NIce tip. I always fiddle around trying to rid my cars of the slop. I'll try this way!

Love your 'how too's', John. 👍🏻

124017, do you think I need washers too? Is it M4 washers? The ist diameter of the bearing is a little bit smaller than yours.
Thank you in advance
How can you solve the fact that when you tighten the wheel nut it stops stopping? And if you tighten the nuts a little, they loosen.

I have the beast max, exact same as the scy 16101. I order lithium grease tubes, there is only 1 thickness and it works great
TY For your video Hello From Australia

What would you do about a much smaller car?? Like 1/18??? Mate
I wonder what size washer I would need for a 1/8 scale buggy and truggy
Thank you, my amx12 has this wheel wobble and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I will try this.

Or you could put a washer on the wheel axle
