When I saw the video before watching this, I took the characters as parents and daughter. That felt beautiful. I want to remember it that way. It's so strange, the video is so well made that it brought me a different meaning but still made me extremely emotional.
I was born in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora. Mexico, (a border town) and I first heard CCR when I was 5 yrs old, and they still have me. But when I first heard it and for a long time, I would slam to CCR music. Why, it made me feel like coming alive and wilde with lots of energy. But CCR hit ALL MEXICO. I can asure that MEXICO LOVES CCR.
I think it's a wise choice, making the music video as a "coming-of-age" story, with "rain" covering broader subjects. It's always good to have more than one way to interpret a song. Might appeal to younger audiences as well, making it even more timeless.
Really a monument to a time, a generation a song and the band that sang it. Fantastic work. If there is a category for videos like this. It deserves an award, and I hope it gets one.
Wow I took the video to mean he and the brunette girl were together but he likes her friend blondie more. They split up and she is packing up her things from their shared house. Erin and Jack have such good chemistry.
It's funny because I think everybody has differents interpretations of the clip. I thought the brunette had a cruch on the guy but she didn't make a move because she thought they were just friends and that he was more interested in the blonde girl. After that, she was moving from her family house for whatever reason (college?) and she is sad that she maybe is not going to see him again.

I love this song I grew up with ccr, the memories linked too each song have created so much joy, I wish this had been a full movie I would of loved it, my ringtone is even this song. Have You Ever Seen the Rain has always made me feel sad, from the first time I heard it back in '71. If you ever have the chance to go to Montana, then go. It's not called Big Sky Country for nothing. I visited back in 2012 and will never forget it. The sky vista is jaw-dropping.

The neat thing is after watching this, i didn't really learn anything at all about the story being told. That's a real testament to how well made this video is, that without the overt backstory and dialogue, it's still conveyed in the music video. The big arch that Jack was into Sasha but didn't know how to handle it was nailed in the music video, and then cemented when Erin wandered in from off screen. It blows my mind that a team of people can do so much with nothing but a good song and a couple minutes and a lot of talent. Everyone involved in this brought their A game.

You need to put a link of this video on your beautiful music video. I watched the video more than a few times wanting to know about the story. Like the song, your video takes me back to that time in my life. The final cut tells a story and I don't want it to end. It would make a great full length film. I'll enjoy it even more after seeing this behind the scenes.

So some things that brought me to the initial assumption stated above: Alice and Evan are both cast in "The Boys" as a couple so my mind just immediately went there, also Julia seems to always be in between the other two suggesting a parent child relationship, also Evan was helping her with the fishing lure like a dad would, also Alice seemed to share a lot of moments with Julia that evoked some mother-daugjter relationship vibes like hear head resting on Julias shoulder, also Julia being much shorter and having a teenage girl look to her, she looked about 14 to me, while Alice and Evan looked like they were in their 30s, and when she looked at the photograph I thought it was her reminiscing about a fun family weekend and now she has to move out because maybe Alice and Evan are getting divorced or something
I May sound stupid but for some reason I thought the one leaving was the daughter of the other two and she was moving away for college… And I kinda like that story
Now I understand. When I first saw the video, I thought the video was about a guy who has two girlfriends. I thought "wow these ladies are being good sports about this."
I had to watch this to at least the beginning because I didn't get the music video as to what was going on...first I thought the blonde was his girlfriend and the burnett was his kid sister...then towards the end I could tell the burnett had feelings for him so the kid sister idea was out and the blonde was the competition she could never win with...never had a clue these 3 were friends and one was moving away from the friendship group...and I'm an educated person with a degree....me personally would've made it based on the past hurricanes and floods the country's had to survive and rebuild from. Like hurricane Katrina or the one that tore up the Bahamas that we'll never see in its beauty ever again...that's just my opinion
It is a bit hard to figure when watching the video. I was confused about the relationships until seeing them hold hands. I have watched it at least a dozen times over the past month before that sunk in. You kind of think he would be with the blonde. I will enjoy the video a little more knowing the story better.
Hard to notice really leaving it up to personal interpretation but has some key moments in the clip (in my opinion) like the brunette girl packing both at the start and end of song with the rest being her remembering the last time out together, then goes on to show their friendship before having the guy go out to check on the brunette (which I thought was feeling like a 3rd wheel on a date) where he starts to make a move by holding her hand and being interrupted by the blonde. You can also notice the looks that both the brunette and guy keep flashing at each other giving the intention the producers wanted in that both like each other but don’t want to ruin there friendship. Again that’s what I see in it but it’s left open to interpretation
