After several years of struggling with low back pain when I started lifting again, I went to PT twice for an ACL tear in the teens that cause imbalances in my right leg. I thought would fix it, but still issues. After doing these workouts, it has been one of the most helpful things I had done. aww so nice to hear you got 5 kids. did you have issues with having any of your kids while having diastasis recti? i was planning on another child but the acupuncturist today told me, as i went because i have irritable bowel syndrome-constipation, that i have muscle split. rectus abdominis muscle i think she showed me.
      wasnt too much but i do have it apparently. also might be another reason why im constipated as my muscles arnt together properly to help go for a number 2.
      But apart from that did your pregnancies go well? as i want to try again as i just had a miscarriage a month ago that wouldve been my 5th child.😢.

    I had 3 vaginal births to heavy babies, and my last kids were a c-section due to the placenta previa, and she's already 16. I've been doing pilates on reformer for years but can never get up for a teaser, and that frustrated me more than anything. I have flared ribs from pregnancy, but I never heard of DR. I feel so depressed for the past 16 years because no matter what I did, I just cant cjange enlarged rib cage and bulging stomach. No matter how much I diet and exercise, I just still look the same. I was a size 00 before babies, and now a sad size 10 and going through menopause is making me feel even worse about my body. There are no internet or youtube back in the days with all this information😢
    . I am 52 now, and my pilates classes and my pilates classes have many women who are around the same age and have the same type of body as mine.
    We are happy that we are accomplished mothers but feeling sad for our bodies and didn't know what happened to our bodies and how to take care of it. I think we are a forgotten generation before internet. I know its too late for me but I will definitely making sure my daughter will get the best care she can get.

    My biggest question that i've yet to see any therapist explain in any video is: what does "engage your core" mean? How do you do that? Please explain.
    I've had about a 2 finger diastasis for 3 years now, saw a physical therapist twice but she just wasn't able to adequately engage with me to actually give me anything useful to work with. It's very frustrating because it's also caused me some pretty sever GERD as it goes all the way up to my diaphragm. i'm terrified of surgery and i've been looking so hard for an alternative fix but just doing the exercises doesn't seem to help me without knowing that one critical detail I mentioned in the beginning. it seems to be the key.

    • @ga5241
      @ga5241 Год назад +1

      To engage your core, you need to lie down on your back and close the arch present in your lower back,and this you can do by slightly tilting your hips forward slowly so that your lieer back is touching the floor and your hands cannot go through the arch

    • @brassman7599
      @brassman7599 Год назад

      @@ga5241 That doesn't sound like much, and is exactly what my physical therapist told me. It just doesn't tell me anything as I can't really feel it. I'm able to do exercises such as leg lifts without having my bely cone if I just brace like i'm sucking my tummy in. I've been doing a few of these exercises for over a year and have seen no results whatsoever. I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure it out and none of these videos seem to be able to explain it, they all just say "it'll happen in a few weeks/months."

    Hi Jess, so glad that you have uploaded this video on DR! I am going to follow it through diligently, just like the pregnancy workout too. However, I gave birth to my baby last year in October via vaginal delivery. An episiotomy was performed.

    Do you have any idea why is that so, and ways to help?

    • @katiecisneros1920

      My midwife had shared with me when we tear or get an episiotomy that pain during intercourse could be due to scar tissue forming. If it feels tight you can try evening primrose oil and massage in area the estrogen will help make it more elastic. ❤

I have started this but am slightly confused - are we aiming to intake as much air as possible on the inhale and then eliminate that air on the exhale while ‘tensing’ our abdominal muscles? I want to make sure I get the technique right.

    • @MrSashok99

      Hi! What is to be considered during your current pregnancy is protecting your core, so rolling in bed, getting out of bed, sitting correcly as well as avoid belly bulging during excercise. Jessica tells a lot about it in her pregnancy workout videos. As your abs will naturally separate during your pregnancy just keep it in its place with all the advice above and heal your DR after the pregnancy. Wish you good pregnancy and a safe delivery!
