So I was not having the best day today and decided to stop doing anything! 🤐 Then I remembered I wanted to bake this bread so I did! I just made myself an opened face cucumber sandwich with butter and this Dilly bread. Where has this been my entire life? Lol...I can honestly say my day just became awesome! Thank you, thank you, thank you! So good...🥰🙏

Kaleb I’m impressed, not only how Yummo that bread looks but how you sliced such an even thin slice of bread without a slice guide. Will definitely be trying this recipe but know I can’t slice bread like you ♥️
I have to laugh, that everything bagel seasoning is great, I love using it in scrambled eggs. This bread looks so good, I am going to make it tomorrow, thank you.
I thought this dilly bread recipe was delicious! BUT … I used my many years of cooking experience and watched the bread NOT raise in an hour. I left it alone for what seemed two hours more and then it was ready for oven. It was tasty! 💯
So I made this! I had to wing it though, because I only had regular yeast on hand. (I wonder if I could have bloomed it in the cottage cheese/butter mixture, any advice on that?) I bloomed it in water and some of the honey and just added it to the recipe, of course having to add extra flour, which was no big deal. It was really tasty, and brought me back to high school days when my friend's mom always had dilly bread in the kitchen (RIP Ginger!). I also used fresh dill I wanted to use up which is the reason I wanted to make this in the first place. I cooked some onions down (sans oil) to get rid of some of the moisture and added those. So I am just going to assume that had I made this recipes to spec it would have been even more delicious (really wish I had that everything bagel seasoning on hand). Book marked for future use for sure😀
I love this recipe! I love the cross between the quick bread and no-knead bread aspect. I expect a better texture from your process. This i will try! ❤
Sincere question= egg allergy severe. will it do something to the recipe if I leave it out? I know with baking it is all about the chemistry especially bread. I have made no knead breads before and they turn out beautifully and they never before had egg IN them, some had egg wash only for decoration on the crust but not inside the dough. Please let me know if you have the answer. I would love to try if I can, LOVE all things DILL and also BREAD!
I've often replaced eggs in recipes including breads with a "flaxseed egg" which is 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed and 3 Tbsp water. Mix it and let it get kind of jelly like an egg and add to your recipe... Let's see what he says....
Frankly... you can sub in a half cup of apple sauce instead of the egg, or a 1/3 or 1/2 cup of the fluid from a can of garbanzo beans. Either will work just fine. You won’t know the difference.

Being a "Dill Freak", I had to try this right away. Since I didn't have any cottage cheese handy, I substituted plain Greek Yogurt and added some chopped fresh dill (which I always have) and it was fabulous! Keep up the good work.
