I bought an 04 manual g35 coupe 2 months ago and let’s just say I don’t regret it
Me too. I bought an 04 in August with a 6spd manual and it came with a CD009 😁
Having fun over here.

I bought a 05 G35 coupe manual in 2009. sold it n 2018 for a 2010 anniversary edition G37 ipl coupe auto. Sold the G37 a few months ago and got another 05 coupe but now auto. I love these cars they're timeless. Idk if I like the G35 or G37 more. I think manual is the way to go definitely. Put a stage 3 racing clutch n it you'll be alright.
Bought an Auto 350Z. Converted it to manual two weeks ago. The Auto transmission revs faster and is actually faster 1/4mile. But manual is more enjoyable to drive…. except in traffic or parallel parking on a hill
I got a 08 350z!! And I love the 6 speed gear box 🔥 bro owns a automatic g 06 and it’s clean bro 👍

Great choice
What year you want? I have a 04 g35x (awd) only quirks is uphill it like to wait till 1500 rpm to shift down, other car was 2200 roughly (also a 100 less hp) and THE UNDERNEATH RUST MY GOD CHECK UNDER.......and check the manual mode a few times, if even 1 time it doent activate, ask for 500 off, the manual mode accuator (whatever its called) is like 780$ without labor, but if its all good outta 4 cars, my g35x is for the win.........AND THE EXHAUST TONES YOU CAN FRIGGIN MAKE, only car to make me say screw honda and back it up with facts.......to a GROUP of honda owners........at a car meet......so ya id grab it but preferably a 07 if you can get one for roughly 4 k, if going older like a 04 or before, id go 2500 max
I'm getting a 07 g35 101,000 mileage nice rilms next Friday cant wait to do mods

Great video man, definitely makes me feel better about my automatic 05 g35 I recently bought. Where can I find more information on tuning ? And getting the features like the 2 step
Autos are just better all around I keep my manual 4.6 gt in the garage now once I got the 7speed auto 70z with paddle shifters. I use to talk sht about autos when I was younger..but now that I'm older and a more experienced driver man...the only difference is no clutch to push. Guys with the manual around here love my car.
@@Blake-ld7mxIs it possible to add paddle shifters to an automatic g35?
@@redking8506 Yep but it's v rare, I have a '03 Skyline 350GT which is basically the domestic G35, same car but different options. I got a paddle shifter kit built in, but they're quite rare to see, mine is the only one in the whole Netherlands.
Mines a almost at 200 miles and it hasn’t given me any problems

Agree with everything you said. Yo me it's all how you drive your G. If your good to her she will be good to you.

GIOVANNI TH3 G35 FAN I agree aswell but why buy one of these cars if you aren’t swinging it loll, it’s how the motors pop they just can’t take it lol. To keep swapping low mileage vqs is way better imo then finding a rev up🤷🏽♂️I learned from my mistake unfortunately

The 03-04 autos don’t come with automatic rev-match unfortunately. All they do is dump the clutch
Is there a way to counter this? I have an 03
Ya what he said I gots a 04 and i need that lol
I was like waiting for the cool sounds and I’m like welp my car sucks 😂 “03
04 g35x, realllllyyyyy neeeddaa know
You can still rev-match if you get the timing just right. I have a built auto, and I can rev-match downshift in maybe 200ths of a second because I got the timing perfect with my foot.
your car is amazing , thank you for the viddd
I wanted to get the 03 g35 just hard looking for one
For a 05
Strange, I just realized the G35s and 37s both have 6 gears, idk if you have heard of the G25 but it’s a 2.5 L and I have 7, I’ve shifted through all 7 of them. Super weird , I’m guessing it’s for fuel economy since that is why they made the g25 in 2011 and 2012 to compete with the is250
2005 anniversary edition w revup did come with auto transmission but thats the ONLY MODEL with revup that came with automatic all 2006 w manual came with revup the automatic 2006 came with non revup

Got mime for 2500, and its the AWD with 1 k in maintenance. ( imtake manifold gasket, piston gromments, oil filter n fluid, tranny filter n fluid, etc) so if you got it clean no problems, id say yea but a little far, whats the mileage?
Yes it’s worth it if the mileage is under 150,000 - 200k miles , their is a heavy bro tax on the g35 coupes right now , they’re averaging between $6-$8k under 200k miles if it isn’t clapped
❤
I hear beefy trans ….. I like that
Great video man, i have the automatic 2003 coupe with 231k miles no issues. I didnt jnow about the modes, is this in all the cars or any specific year/model?
I might have to go auto as a first car because manuals don’t exist here lol or they are super duper rare idk if it’s cuz I live in MN but idk
Yeah Same in Australia. Is what it is I guess
Great video! Definitely subscribing for more. But those drop shadows on that text.... that might not be it, man haha
Appreciate the love bro, I’m still experimenting and learning haha
I drive both a 2006 6 speed manual G35 and a 2003 automatic. The stock automatic is completely miserable and horrible to drive, however, if you add a shift kit, it turns into a beast. There is nothing on the road that shifts as fast as a shift kit automatic g35 / Z - other than maybe a dual-clutch car. Screeches the tires on the shifts and sends you into your seat at high RPM. The manual, on the other hand, is noticeably faster when in gear, but of course, you lose some time in the shifting. I notice now driving the automatic that there definitely feels like there is some slush between the engine and the road, even with my built transmission it feels a little mushy. I personally love the manual because it really connects the driver to the car, and the extra control is awesome to have. I can't really compare them in a race since the 2006 has a Revup engine. Most drivers would still lose to the (built) automatic despite the extra horsepower I believe.
My 6 speed has a CD009 transmission, I would recommend the later CD009 tranny because the earlier versions have issues with the 5th gear syncro. The automatic has a Jatco RE5R05A automatic and I would say it is completely quality, zero issues ever. My built automatic is good for about 600 horsepower, and the manual is good for about 1200 horsepower on an upgraded clutch. The earlier jatco autos also support manual rev-matching, however, they are harder to tune.
I just got my 3rd G coupe but auto cuz there was nothing decent Manual in Miami unfortunately. But I will get that shift kit thanks
Wat is a shift kit?
I needa see videos of your cars🤤
should i super charge an all stock auto g35 ?
I wish my 04 had the auto rev matching I miss my 05 auto
sucks that i don’t know how to drive a manual… just gonna have to get a shitbox and teach myself
Sadly our country didn’t brought the manual in the g35 or any Infiniti in general for the sales of the Z and I just ended up getting an auto.
What country are you from? Time to move LOL
I love my auto 350z VQHR.
Is there other ways to get my 350 Z automatic to shift faster besides using a transgo kit?
What tunes are good for the automatic? What tune are you running??
Idk if I should get a manual 2007 350z or an automatic I have some traffic but mainly want a fun manual
If you want manual get one, you’ll enjoy the auto but you might have that occasional nagging feeling in your head you should have gotten a manual lmao, sometimes I feel like that ngl 😂
@@DGWhipZ it’s literally so hard to find a good manual that’s not a stupid looking roadster I could just manual swap an augo
I had a 05 g35 manual 2010 g37 ipl auto and now 05 g35 auto. Get it manual trust me
Is it bad shift the car and let off the gas at the same time in a 05 g35 automatic?
My bad youtube glitched my reply for some reason, no if anything it just takes less stress off the tranny these shift pretty hard from factory and always clunk when shifting full throttle and that can be lessened by letting off the gas a bit during shifts, however these trannys are well built and can usually last over 200k regardless so you can beat on it however you want and you should be good either way, i have 162k on mine no problems whatsover
Does the anti lag steering wheel thing work stock or is that with the tune?
You have to get it tuned, I had to pay extra to have this ability actually
I’m have a problem with my 2005 auto g35 it has a code saying p1762 which is for the vuale body any one knows what I can do ?
If you go with an automatic G35 coupe don’t think about going speed, if you want speed get the 6speed rev up
Tabokingu NA i definitely think if you’re trying to go boost or build the engine 6 speed is the way to go
@@DGWhipZ what year g would you recommend
Great vid G so for the anti lag does it work for a 03 350z?
Yep, same software for all the Gs and Zs for any year including 370s and g37s 👍
Hey man how are things going great video. I got a G35 05 and I am road racing it at Fontana Speedway in Cali. It's a great car having a lot of fun put a lot of mods on it right now hopefully looking forward to doing some more. Keep me posted doing a great job man.
Hey man things are going great, that’s awesome your road racing on a track that’s definitely a goal of mine. Appreciate the love and support bro 👌👍❤️
Aye bro how do u turn on manual mode on this
All you gotta do is move your shifter to the right while it’s in drive and you should be able to move it up and down for up and down shifting
In my country 350z are mad expensive
Theres an auto 2003 one is going for 10000 usd and manual 2003 is going for 15000. I really want manual but idk
Damn that’s crazy expensive, they must be harder to find or something, 15k for a 350 is pretty high, you can get 370s for cheaper here
@@DGWhipZ yea we have some crazy taxes and I guess inflation.
At what mph or rpm is it best to start downshifting in the g35 ?
@DGWhipZ What Radar do you have? How much? And does it work with speed cameras too or just with the cop radars?
I have a uniden R1, I got mine as a gift but their budget friendly, about 150 bucks give or take. Not speed cameras just the cop equipment if they have the equipment to laser you and if it’s on.
Which year auto you recommend?
Nice G man i got a 05 Coupe 5at and idk if i should tune it or sell it for a g37. Is it worth keeping and tuning it?
Ruben depends on your goals, if you want to boost and make more power as your end goal the vq37s can make a lot more boost an power than the 3.5 reliably, if you’re just gonna go for a stance and clean looking car that has fun and don’t want too much power keep the G. Just keep in mind making the 3.7 fast is a lot more expensive than the 3.5
Freaking sick! Did you swap a rev up engine into an 06 auto G?
I believe the the 03-04 VQ35DE is a better start for manual, if your trans goes buy a brand new cd009 from Z1
Finding a jdm vq is way better than trying to find a used rev up or rebuilding your motor is something goes wrong
It was a good video thank you for doing it! I have one question, and I hope someone can help me out here. I have an g35 2005 model, and unfortunately the tiptronic does not work randomly. Sometimes does sometimes does not and I can not figure out the reason. I found some forum where people had the same problem with the 2005 model, but no solution mentioned. If someone know what can I do to fix it, please let me know. Thanks

You have to change your gauge cluster I had the same problem.
@@cdss2791 really,I’d think that would be a linkage problem
@@Sagesitssolemnly Trust me I’ve been down the rabbit hole before it’s the gauge cluster. A lot of people change the shifter assembly and it still doesn’t work. Gauge cluster was last resort for me but after I changed it out I had no issues with my manual mode ever again. Paid $2k at the stealership though
Got the same problem with my 05 😭 when it does work, sometimes it'll kick me into first gear at random... Too scary to even wanna try to use manual mode anymore..
Can anybody tell me if a 2005 automatic has the rev up engine. I heard it was only some manual and special edition that had the rev up engine. Oh. Thank you. You just answer. Just the manual. I am going to buy a 2005 auto. 55000 miles. What do you guys think. She wants $9000.
have you use regular 87 octane
Very Nice Video Bro, I have a automatic 03 coupe and I think the transmission is going out because now when I get in it and it has been sitting overnight are for some hours I have to crank the car and let it warm up for about 30-50 minutes before taking off with or otherwise when I just take off with it, and I'm driving down the road after it hit the second or third passing gear it's like it's in neutral and then it catches after I take my foot off the gas, also it has the kick/thump feel when it shift I'm getting code: P1776 can someone tell me what this is...
Sometimes people who owned the car before use to turn it on and take off.My car would drive fine for 15minutes then once it got to operational temperature it would not go into gear.I had a input clutch solenoid issue plus another code.It absolutely quite on me so I got it rebuilt for $1800 cash.
06 g35 6speed💪🏼
thats cool didn't know they rev mach wen downshifting
Yea it’s cool but it’s only the 05 and 06 and up, 03 and 04 didn’t have it yet
@@DGWhipZ ya i just saw that because i bought a 2003 350z auto tonight and it doesin't have it
05 and up transmissions are better but the revup engines are far worse because of oil consumption
Is the anti lag standard on this
Subbed ❤️
Appreciate the support ✊
does it have sport mode?
How do you do that ?
The prices for these cars in good shape aren’t 5-7k anymore 😂😭
Yep. These cars hold their value. That's why I purchased my 07 auto for $5400. Those prices were going up.
man I want to buy one but I don’t know how to drive manual lol !
The best way is to just buy one lol, I had a 96 eclipse and I bought it as a 5 speed not knowing how to drive it, I had work the next day and stalled a few times but I made it lol, I mastered it after a few days a and few friends teaching me how to drive it, it was definitely worth it
Can I swap a 05+ auto trans to have the rev match feature on my z?? Will it be a direct bolt on my 03 auto trans is giving out already either way🥲
I think it’s the same trans but it has something to do with the tcm and ecu so you would probably have to swap those as well in order to get that feature and even then who knows how the car would react
Where do I get parts to upgrade my auto trans in my 04 G35? I wanna boost my engine but, I want the trans to be able to handle it.
You can just upgrade your valve bodies with a transgo kit for like 200 to 250 bucks and it will be able to handle a little more power and people have had good experiences with that, you can get it off z1 or even eBay I believe, i personally don’t think it’s worth it to fully build the auto because it’ll cost about 10k and people usually have them blow up anyway because very few people can properly build a high horsepower auto tranny. Keep the power under 400 and you should be good
@@DGWhipZ Thanks 🙏 This really helped.
@@TamarrionMartinez glad I can help bro 👍
Should I release the throttle as I would with an actual 6mt when up and downshifting
This will lessen than harsh shifting that these automatics naturally do from factory but it’s not necessary
Just because you put in a transgo kit doesn’t mean you’ll be beating anything with a clutch pedal. I don’t understand how that came to be.
Not just anything with a clutch pedal, anything with the same amount of power like I said in the video
If you racing a car in a similar class and your shifts are saving you precious tenths of a second thatd you’d be losing to a manual because you have to lift your foot off the gas, the instantly shifting auto is typically going to win no? Obviously there’s a lot of factors that come into play like weight tires etc but if you have approximately the same amount of power the shifts are gonna save you tons of time when it comes to a straight line race
That makes more sense, didn’t catch that you said against a car with similar power
Can you make your exhaust pop feature with the automatic G35
Yes if you get straight pipe
whats is the year of the car?? I gotta know fast as possible
2006 bro

Nice info bro! I just rebuild my 2003 g35 AT with full forged internals for a turbo kit but i have the auto transmission just with transgo shift. What would u recomend to do for my trans be able to hold 600whp ??
Most people haven’t pushed this kind of power with the auto, I’m honestly not sure if it would be able to handle it, but your best bet would be look into upgraded torque converters as well so handle the extra torque, it’s typically not the power per day that does damage but the torque that does it, lmk how it goes man sounds like a crazy build!
@@DGWhipZ that sounds pretty good bro i appreciate your help thanks 💪🏻
I will let u know bro when got this ready to show u how goes.

with 3 codes
P0345
P0057
P1762
It runs and drives really good suspension needs nothing I just put new brakes a ball joint and lower control arm
Did I make a good deal??
Should be a good deal just fix those issues and be religious with the oil maintenance should last you another 40 50k miles easy 👍
Exactly gotta be like a protestant with that oil
I want a manul for my first car but if I would not mind an auto
If you want to learn manual the best way is to just buy one honestly, I do wish mine was manual sometimes but I still love the practicality of auto
@@DGWhipZ the money is the problem
Does all this apply to 05 sedan as well??
Yes, the only differences with the sedans is that some of them had all wheel drive, otherwise, and if you’re ever unsure still you can look up your exact model or vin and it will tell you everything that is has or doesn’t have 👍
same trans as an 07 35 5 speed sedan? would like to get it shifting faster
Yes, for 200 bucks you can get a transgo kit for it and it will shift hella quick and improve your 0-60 time, hella worth it however is recommended getting a pro to install if your not super mechanically inclined it is a very difficult and complex job
@@DGWhipZ cool thanks, any reliability issues?
I keep going between g35 and 350z idk if I should get an auto or manual cause lots of traffic y’all lmk what I should get
If you live in LA or something having manual is absolutely awful, especially if you’re gonna be daily driving, you’re gonna get a buff left leg lmao
Auto g35
Awd if you can
Im looking at a 2006 auto g35. Vs an rsx type s.. lol which one is a better performance car?? Lol
Depends, straight raw power the g easy, if you’re looking for aftermarket the rsx is cheaper and easier 👍
@@DGWhipZ gotcha thanks ..
That’s not entirely true the automatic g35 had a horsepower handicap, 20 hp aproxx
03 g35 🕺🏾🚘, What mods you running I just got mines and looking to put some work into it, So far just got an intake.
Plenum spacer, intake, idler pulley delete if you wanna count that lol, motordyne art pipes and a custom true dual exhaust with a tune, I’d recommend that setup to about anybody the art pipes are amazing and getting a tune will make a night and day difference.
@@DGWhipZ bet I'm thinking bout running a cheery bomb for now, And how do you feel about items from eBay, I've seen some decent brakes, plenum spacers and etc.
People at the exhaust shop told me cherry bombs don’t last long and blow out, personally it depends on each item I have eBay rotors and have had no issues with them but getting eBay cam sensors are a big no no you can only go OEM with those or you will be having issues garunteed, my advice is do your research on what you plan on going cheap on because sometimes it’s okay but sometimes you will regret it later down the road, you typically get what you pay for

You can get a clean low mileage one for 7 to 8k, you can get one a little rough around the edges for 4 to 5k depends on your budget and if you want a fixer upper
