You really missed Cinema Grade’s main feature. The click and slide function is dependent on what part of the image you are clicking on. It’s a very intuitive way of making selective edits, based on luminance, saturation or hue.
This is a nice feature, for sure
Rare that you find a video and get directly what you were looking for. Well done! I appreciate it.
Thanks for this video. Very informative. I thought Cine Grade was a little clunky, not as polished as I had hoped. For those on the fence I recommend test driving each of them, they both have a free trial option.
This was great, so informative, and insiteful! Thanks Marcos!
Do you still feel the same 2 years later? I have graded 2 seasons of a drama series with Cinema Grade the Turnaround time is way better that any tool.
Thanks for this bro :) just what i needed answered!
Glad I could help!
Terrific video Marcos. Thank you. I’ve been shooting our videos using the iPhone 11. Does a LOG (.cube) file for the iPhone 11 exist that can be used with color finale pro in FCPX?
Incredible Work 👍
Really helpful video! After seeing Cinema Grade, I was also debating (between it and CF) which would be better for my purposes . . . now I don't have to bother downloading the trial - your content helped me see that I also would benefit from the more "professional" controls of CF. Thanks much!
Color Finale is so good.
Hi, thanks for the review. How do the system requirements change when using Color Finale 2? Do we need a more rubust system then when using just FCP?
After watching your comparison, I’m going to stick with using colour finale. I thought cinemagrade came up with a better UI from their ads, in comparison to the likes of colour finale. But your demo shows it was just too good to be true. Thanks for the tip 👍🏼
I don't think this is an either/or issue. I think it's a both/and issue. Nothing blows through a series of clips you need to color balance and do exposure adjustments like Cinema grade. I can have my LOG footage basically balanced with exposure adjustments finishing in a fraction of the time of any other grading program with Cinema grade. Once that's done then I do the final finish grading of the clips with Color Finale 2.
In short, Cinema grade gets the basics out of the way at lightening speed---then plenty of time to refine everything in Color Finale. If you can afford both then both are better.
That's the most efficient work flow I've been able to figure out. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Totally agree with this comment.... C Grade can smash out some basic corrections with the power of it and its algorithms and then its the creators choice for the "LOOK" I feel.. Some days a LUT will work and this can be done in Cinema grade or even with an adjustment layer in FCPX 10.. or other days and projects one might wish to completely customise the colour grade with curves and all the more complex tools :)
@@camcamwatt Together they combine to make an awesome one-two punch to do the total job to grade and finish your footage, with nothing more needed...that is, unless you're doing something extraordinary.
Which level of cinema grade are you using for this comparison?
I think the thing to highlight is CG gives photographers familiar controls, it feels like lightroom
Thx man 🙌
I have used Color Finale, and I just got Cinema Grade recently. So far, I much prefer the usability of Cinema Grade. I think it is quite brilliant. The group matching is really fast.
That's great to hear 👍🏼
Can you match movies luts/colors? Like can I easily find/match a matrix green to my project?
i might be late to ask this, but what program or lut did you use for your office shot?
Thanks!! Nice video once again. I commented on another video of yours bc in V.2 Color finale I could not get the galleries (LUT) to show up. But I see where you clicked it now, will have to install it again and give it a try. Maybe the release I had, had a bug or something but I could not get it to show up at all....
Yeah I know what you mean... the old Color Finale had a different button for the LUT gallery.
I purchased CG and have nothing but regrets. It’s slow, buggy, and the support is trash. They told me to install a beta version to fix my performance issues on my 2019 16 inch MacBook Pro. After I uninstalled it, my FCP X worked fine. I’ll try CF and see if I get better results.
This was great! Thanks for making this video! Very objective, I’ve been using cinema grade for about a year and I agree with you on it lacking precise control. I just downloaded a trial version of color finally and I wish I had purchased it instead of cinema grade. Controls are way more intuitive and you can do precise coloring.
I agree that extra steps might be a barrier... that said I'm pretty fast in FCPX without either. I have CG but I only used it one time... :( so far
chris w I’m not sure if you can resell CinemaGrade, but I’d be interested in taking it off your hands if you can. Hit me up on IG @jamzent
Hey mate, love your channel and quality of your work. :) I must say I agree with some of what you say however my observation is that i feel you might not of given Cinema grade a good chance yet and really got to know it, that said i could be completely wrong here and off the mark.. it seems like you have done plenty of wheel time grading on Colour finale but perhaps not quite got all the benefits of Cinema grade. :) ....... I think it all depends on your projects too. For my personal work im really only just getting into colour grading properly now after 4 years or so - for my bigger projects I would work with Colourists as im just a humble director and i leave the button-pushing up to the experts on the bigger jobs.... that said... i am still learning my way around Cinema Grade and my reason for purchasing it is i want depth of control but faster workflow and that's how Mr Denver has "sold it" - and i think in time as i learn it complexly it will come home with the goods! Great videos you do man! G'day from Melbourne Australia!
Thank you for your input. Like I said in the video, this is just my opinion.
Marcos Rocha absolutely sir and no shade intended. Love your work!
Thanks Marcos for the thorough comparison.
should you get the Pro version if you get color finale? Or just the standard one? What's the biggest differences?
You can export LUTs with the Pro. You also get the film grain - which I use almost always.
@@MarcosRochaTV ok thx!
Did you have to tune your computer monitors before you started using color grading
I did tune my monitor using the Spyder X
Can I remove noice in FCPX without any plugin, in 10.4.8, if its is please provide a video
There's a noise removal in FCPX but it is not very good. I use Neat Video Plugin because it is better.
@@MarcosRochaTV thanks dear
Yep going to get cf2. CG is not as flexible
Color Finale 2 Pro is too laggy and crashes on my 16" MBP using FCPX
Oh wow, I haven't had this issue.
como lo instalo
can you make color finale 2 vs Davinci? I really don't know what is the real difference
Color Finale 2 is not even in the same league with Davinci Resolve
I dont think its fare to compare theese two apps. Cinema Grade is moore like a quick fix in a hurry. I was really succesfull to matching clips as well. Its about to have time or not. I absolutley agree about the curves though. I have Cinema Grade but I will buy the Color Finale for its benefits. You where close there yourselves. Learn and use both for the right purpose and on right time. My thoughts. A thumb up anyway.
After 1 year, which one is best?can you please tell ur opinion?Thankyou
I am still using Color Finale 2. The LUT preview is amazing.
@@MarcosRochaTV ok..thanks 😊
Wish I'd seen this before buying Cinema Grade
Aren't they both Denver Riddle products?
Yeah, I think he helped create them, but he sold his share of Color Finale.... I think.
Color final fire 🔥
hey bro make more color finale video
Cinema Grade is really good bro....you need to dig deeper into it..
LUTS...MAKE YOUR OWN PEOPLE!!!! YOU TOO MARCOS!!!

I.M.O., Cinema Grade appears alot faster.
Not helpful at all. It was plain as day. Shame could have been so much better. You missed the best feature already mentioned
What are you talking about?
