This test makes no sense. The differences are all down to your choices not the different programs. You used auto WB on one and manual WB on the other. You didn’t even use scopes. Meaningless comparison.
Totally agree, and with the colour mask the reason why he couldn’t change them independently was because he was using the same layer. You can create several layers to make tweaks independently and that’s actually how I work to tweak colours
That’s awesome! Glad it helped you. I’ve been learning Resolve more and at first it was really overwhelming. The mask tracking feature is very useful in Finale.
I’m more of a Resolve guy, so I wouldn’t know for Final Cut, but since your model is holding a Color Checker couldn’t you just map it so that the corresponding colors are 100% equivalent in a pinch? Like you did in Color Finale. Same for WB.
Yeah, I actually recorded a whole segment about color matching manually to the color checker in FCPX but It ended up being so long and detailed, I think I may make a whole separate video about it. And Resolve is awesome, if I wasn’t so quick at editing in FCPX, I’d use Resolve exclusively
Heck yeah! FCPX gets a lot crap as an NLE, but honestly it’s the fastest editing program I’ve ever used and can playback footage smoothly without dropping frames better than any other.
Chadwin! Where ya been!? Oh yeah, probably editing this great video! As always great stuff, made me think about how I challenge myself when it comes to practicing and learning color correction.
Yeah, it’s been a minute cause it took me all week to film and get this one right. I’ve mentioned this before but I’m actually red green color blind, so color correction has always been a challenge for me, but I’ve practiced a lot to improve it. 😂
@@chadwin would have never guessed. You do put a lot of time and i can tell. I just started getting familiarized with color charts, this is definitely worth the wait man!
Nice! I use Davinci sometimes, but really only to edit my BRAW footage. It definitely has way more in depth color grading capabilities. I don’t think they’re necessary though unless you’re really into hard core color grading.

I was waiting for one person to point this out. I was cringing while watching how he edited with FCPX.
Good video. But with the shape mask you can create another one so it won’t effect her face when you brighten the pole
Thanks for the tip I'll have to give that a try.
Thanks! Very helpful! Saved me from learning a whole new program with DaVinci. Was looking for something to track masks. That makes it worth it to me!

Thank you! This was super helpful and exactly what I needed to know!
Glad it was helpful!
And what do you think of cinema grade ? I am new to color grading. Thanks !
that's a good question, I haven't personally used it yet but have heard good things!

Hold on! You Auto White balanced the Color Finale and sample white balanced the Final Cut??! No wonder it looks different...
So you manually white balanced with FCP but you auto WB for Finale. It changed the outcome.
The new video is finally here!!!!
😂 heck yeah it is! Felt like it took forever to film and get it up too. But we keep rockin🤘
FCPX all the way.

Great video by the way what color grader do you use your video looks crispy
hey chad, how does this compare against Cinema Grade?
sorry I haven't used cinema grade yet, but will have to look into it!
Great video!
David Stone thanks!! 🤘
Why not just see if you can match them on the scopes?
Good video, but the static noise in the background was very distracting.
You mean the music in background? I suppose I did mix it a little too loud.
No the music was fine, it was the static noise from the mic I think
@@DannySzo hmmm strange, I don't hear it, but you probably have better hearing than me! haha sorry
How did you get those luts- they at expensive ... maybe you know something?
i got the Buttery luts from his website. butteryluts.com I think. only $30 USD, not bad
You have to do something for your plosives :)
This was really helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I love color finale 2 but what is the actual difference with Davinci you know?'

Such a cute model!!!!
😍 😍
How much is this
Why can’t I $thank$ ?
