The novelization should get this since it addresses a lot of these complaints. I understand you were doing the game alone and you could argue they did not have the technology to do Witcher 3 length in depth dialogue. The Unleashed novel is getting an unabridged audio book in November and I can't wait. In terms of Force powers, it's my favorite and I can't look at another Force user kindly when they complain about handling 20 people. Give me a break.
@@RickyUzumaki993 I mean, if Force sensatives were as weak as some of the movies and books make them out to be, they would be dead very quick among a galaxy of hostile trillions.
Not every force user has the same level of force potential and can't be expected to be capable of the same feats Starkiller was. Ashoka was very powerful for a Padawan especially from season 5 of The Clone Wars onward but she's no match for 20 people by herself. But someone like Cal Kestis probably could take on 20 guys without much issue, does that mean he's a better Jedi than Ashoka? No he's just better equipped for combat situations that don't involve droids. Obi-wan was not as powerful in the force nor was he as good of a lightsaber duelist as Anakin yet Anakin still lost their duel on Mustafar, not because Obi-wan was stronger but because he was smarter and more experienced.
The funny thing about Proxy. He was my favorite character because of his simple and easy to understand motives. He also reminded me of HK-47 as they both had similar programming. They’re just built to kill, but they're so damn charming that you can overlook that they are probably not the best droids to be around. Then you brought up just how damn well they used Proxy in the story and it just makes me appreciate him even more.
This is absolutely incredible, put this on while sick and everything made perfect sense despite my mind being in the abyss, freaking loved it man, hope you come out with more!
It’s interesting how in the main version of the game the line delivery for the “drown in some cantina” line is so hopeful, compared to the Krome version where Starkiller sounds like he couldn’t care less. - Also, side note, as a sequels fan, I appreciate your negativity about them being genuine criticism, not mindless hate.
I have a theory about Stark killers parents and as to why they chose to move to Kashyyyk, it’s it’s probably wrong, but I’d like to think it was a similar reason to Yoda, jashyyyk like dagoba is mostly forest and is extremely powerful in the force, which is why Yoda chose to hide on dagoba, to hide his presence in the force, I’d like to think star killer was so powerful at birth that his parents chose to hide on a planet that is strong in the force to hide him.
Concerning the Kota Question: either he withdrew from the force as best as he could because of his failure or he tested Galen. Let me explain the reasoning. In the extended Lore Kota is descripted as a very confident man thinking highly of his skills since he achieved everything despite comming later into the order then anyone else (we has already commanded tropps at the point) . His failure must have been all the more devastating to him. So he might have succumbed to self - doubt and rejected the force. More likely he did this until it called to him on Bespin. When he felt Galen he might have suspected his identity. but pretending to be blind to the force would have given him a chance to see how Galen dealt with an "easy pawn". Galen could have used the situation way more if he wanted but the way he interacted with Kota showed him to be the troubled individual that Kota knew he would find after his vision. Just my thoughts.
@2:18:03 Red crystals were supposed to be made in a few ways, but apparently, you can also put your hate into a normal crystal to "make it bleed" and turn it red.

I definitely like the Jedi white robes it contrasts against Vader and the emperor black robes plus there hints black color to show there is some darkness in Starkiller.
About a third of the way through. I’m really glad to see someone going in depth on this game. It’s definitely a great one, but also has some glaring flaws. I personally have yet to replay it, and prefer the Wii version I had first. Although, that version has its own flaws for sure. I’d honestly love if you were willing to do a video like this on that version as well, since I think there’s a very different feel to the whole game, likely a result of a different team and different limitations and freedoms. Would definitely say I prefer the bosses and QTEs of that version, as well as some of the added events(even if the Jedi Temple missions make no sense). Would that be something you’re willing to do, out of curiosity? Either way, I love this video.
Okay so I remember there being 2 levels at a Jedi Temple which the video seems to talk about but not show, one before the first betrayal and one after. I recall fighting a sith the first time and I think Kento Marekthe second time. Is this part of the dlc or simply a different version of the game? I've heard that the PS2 and Xbox 360 versions are different, as the video mentioned during the junk planet, but didn't know for sure.
The Wii is the repackaged PS2 version. These came out at a time when last gen versions were completely different games. I personally like the Wii/PS2 version better
To answer your issue with people suddenly changing kyber crystals. In the lore you can "bleed" any crystal to turn it red by forcing darkness on it. This explains how Maris Brood had two red sabers. However ive never heard of healing a kyber crystal so im unsure how Galen got his hands on blue.. though it does make sense to have a light side variation of the process he was not actually lightside at that time. Only just being ordered to pretend to.
That's for current lore Though. Time of this games release it was just synthetic kyber crystals the Sith used. (if i remember correctly Red isn't a color Kyber crystals take.) And healing a kyber crystal turns it white. Like how Ahoska's current lightsaber Is white. She killed and inquisitor and healed his crystal.
Played this on the Wii. The way the game changed tremendously between consoles is pretty crazy. Force Unleashed 1 on the Wii was epic. Force Unleashed 2 on the Wii was awful.
I overall agree with your critiques of the game's story. It was such an incredible experience for me as a kid and definitely still holds up today, the narrative not withstanding. I would've liked to see where you place the Emperor finisher in your rankings though, that one is pretty awesome too.
51:00 was due to the 60fps mod, I experienced that myself but chose to bite the bullet and remove the mod because I was tired of dealing with the caveats that came with it.
I was already a Star Wars fan but seeing them in Soul Calibur was what made me get that game. There was also a short story that served as a prequel called "Visions Of The Blade". But I love this game. The PSP is the superior game in terms of content. Multiplayer, historic battles, Order 66, etc. REALLY fun.
52:28 the Xbox 360 version talks about how the guardians get their energy from the force. The ps3 doesn’t clarify it. Just a weird difference between the two I guess.
The part in the Death Star where you were frustrated with having to wait for the beams isn’t as bad as you made it appear. In the footage, it seems like you are stopping and waiting every single time the beam is firing, which isn’t necessary. You can simply walk on either side of the beam while it’s firing as long as you do not go directly in its path, which cuts down on a ton of waiting. The only times you truly have to wait are when you need to break through the green glass (since there are no side paths there) and if the beam is firing during the section where you have to align the 3 rings. To me, those few slowdowns aren’t obnoxious and add some tension, but to each their own.
Just thought id point out that when you're talking about the floor glowing during the fight with kota and you thinking its a graphical bug, it is actually a game mechanic. If you take long enough in the fight, the room you're in enters the planets atmosphere and starts burning up. You actually start taking damage if you stand on the hot floor and so does kota if you knock him into it. And when the qte starts, i assume that the room is no longer burning up due to some wierd physics stuff lol.
So I believe you’re miss interpreting the conversation at the beginning of the game between Galen and Kota. Kota says something along the lines of “I can see your future boy, Vader won’t always be your master… I can sense… I sense only … Me.” The way this plays out as Kota is seeing the premonition. He can tell Galen’s not inherently evil like others who draw on the dark side, more over he almost has a resistance to it much Like Revan did, once he reclaimed his memories. Kota then realizes that while he can clearly see Vader won’t always be his master, Kotas own interpretation of the vision changes as he experiences fear. The only thing he can see in the vision is Starkillers intention and determination of killing Kota in the immediate future. This isn’t Kota realizing he would eventually become his master, Kota probably had no idea. This is Kota realizing that the outcome of Starkillers future involved Kota no matter what. Which shook Kota realizing his vision had changed. You can hear it in the way his tone of voice and pitch change and get higher when he says “me…!” you can hear that uncertainty and fear. Infact without this premonition Kota probably would have overpowered Galen and won the fight, this is shown by how starkiller reacts to Kota detaching the bridge. The only reason I believe starkiller won, as you can see, Starkiller gains the advantage of the saber lock as Kota slips into this impending doom, which rattles him and causes the Master Jedi to falter in his contest of strength.
The reason he calls Marris Brood a slave to the dark side is because he's self reflecting, for the first time ever he's finally seeing what HE is, and he hates it, further still when she promises to leave the dark side behind he reasons that she deserves a second chance, just like he does, I think Marris as a character exists to push along Starkillers character development Another thing, I believe the reason Kotor withholds information from Starkiller is because he doesn't fully trust him, and he's trying to see which direction he will go
have you considered that vader tells starkiller that he lied from the beginning to bring out the anger in starkiller as he's senses his shift to the light side and the sith lie so palps saying he knew he would replace him is just him lying to him the same way he's lied to all of his apprentices, no doubt its written poorly but I do see an angle where it makes sense apart from that great video love it
Almost any piece of fiction that fails the test of logical cohesion can have an angle inserted to make it make sense The issue with that is it's an expansion of the information given. It's adding writing to the canon of information. It's, definitionally, fan fiction.
I like the closing remarks I wish this wasn’t legends but canon cause damn it would be a great if Balen skoll from Ashoka turned out to actually be star killer who assumed the identity but it’s a big stretch.
I think it might be breaking the glass causes the gas to start but that's my best guess and proxy is a Droid that's not living until Disney decided they're Alive and secretly want free does anyone remember solo
Great video I don't like this game I wish it was just Vader hunting Jedi as a game like the purge comics Starkiller is just too much for me especially him beating Vader in both games plus the story as you've pointed has so many problems. Nice to see another Mauler fan long live the longman.
you don't change the lightsaber crystal when u go dark side, you "bleed it" using the dark side, which corrupts the crystal and gives it the red colour...
Did some research after reading this. You're correct that there is a lightsaber color change in the lore through an effect called bleeding, and this would explain Maris' lightsaber change, but it would have to be the fastest bleed in all of Star Wars lore. It would also create a continuity error if bleeding happened at that pace with Starkiller's new blue crystal not turning eventually red. Thank you for the information. Also, there are still natural red crystals and they can be materially synthesized from other crystals, so bleeding isn't the only red crystals explanation in Star Wars lore.
But that is current lore. Bleeding crystals wasn't the lore present in this games release. I guess we could include it as head canon but time of release that isn't how it works.
So the conversations that you have a problem with 1. Women will do anything for one’s they love. My wife boss ass bitch at work. However when she’s not at work she makes me the boss. 2. In subverting an enemy you need to make all parties involved believe that they are getting some sort of reward at the end she believes that table will be rewarded by the empire at the end of the for participating.

Galen and Luke Charge Purple and Red Lightning into Their Blades that are Pushing against each other. Then, With The Might of The Two Warriors, They Channel all that Energy, And Unleash it at Palpetine. But The Emperor, Predicting This, Force Pushes That Energy away, It's You and Luke VS Emperor Palpetine, The TRUE first Boss, With The Emperor Weilding His Iconic 2 Lightsabers from that Fight against Darth Maul and his Brother. The Fight Leads to a Knocked out Luke, and Starkiller Force Pulls Luke's Lightsaber to his Free hand to Block The Force Lightning from Sidieous. Galen, Being Weakened without The Sith Holocron inside his Back. Almost Loses, But Then Darth VADER comes Back as Force Ghost to Help Save his Son. And it Plays out like Mace windu Blocking Force Lightning from Revenge of The Sith. In The Emperor's Last Moments, Realizing his Position. Accepts his Fate and Dies. Leaving Starkiller as The Emperor's Successor.
This is an incredibly disputable statement. The only records of Jedi having children in either continuity that they *didn't* hide from the Council was Ki-Adi-Mundi, and his was due to the low birth rate present in his species. The evidence would show that they were, in fact, not allowed to have children as a standard.

The only reason I believe starkiller won, as you can see, Starkiller gains the advantage of the saber lock as Kota slips into this impending doom, which rattles him and causes the Master Jedi to falter in his contest of strength.
you should do FU2
The reason he calls Marris Brood a slave to the dark side is because he's self reflecting, for the first time ever he's finally seeing what HE is, and he hates it, further still when she promises to leave the dark side behind he reasons that she deserves a second chance, just like he does, I think Marris as a character exists to push along Starkillers character development
Another thing, I believe the reason Kotor withholds information from Starkiller is because he doesn't fully trust him, and he's trying to see which direction he will go
The year of my birth! I was born the same day the Clone Wars episode Destory Malevolence aired!
Subbed, look forward to more
have you considered that vader tells starkiller that he lied from the beginning to bring out the anger in starkiller as he's senses his shift to the light side and the sith lie so palps saying he knew he would replace him is just him lying to him the same way he's lied to all of his apprentices, no doubt its written poorly but I do see an angle where it makes sense
apart from that great video love it
Almost any piece of fiction that fails the test of logical cohesion can have an angle inserted to make it make sense
The issue with that is it's an expansion of the information given. It's adding writing to the canon of information. It's, definitionally, fan fiction.
I hope you do this for more SW games
Literally 100% this last month…
I like the closing remarks I wish this wasn’t legends but canon cause damn it would be a great if Balen skoll from Ashoka turned out to actually be star killer who assumed the identity but it’s a big stretch.
I think that starkiller might be so powerful in the force that he sees the flashes, but nobody else would. Just an idea
Just realized this video js 3 hours long holy shit let's goo
I think it might be breaking the glass causes the gas to start but that's my best guess and proxy is a Droid that's not living until Disney decided they're Alive and secretly want free does anyone remember solo
I was always under the impression that Force Unleashed was never canon, because having a sith that powerful, even in Legends, would break the universe
Force Unleashed was, in fact, considered a canonical story before Disney placed the Legends label on it
Great video I don't like this game I wish it was just Vader hunting Jedi as a game like the purge comics Starkiller is just too much for me especially him beating Vader in both games plus the story as you've pointed has so many problems. Nice to see another Mauler fan long live the longman.
u gotta drop the vid on the dlc bruh
Today
God I would love another game like Force Unleashed just a fun what if game
you don't change the lightsaber crystal when u go dark side, you "bleed it" using the dark side, which corrupts the crystal and gives it the red colour...
@@elbowmedicaligning with your generalizations based upon your personal relationship with your wife isn't good writing 😂
@ no it isn’t but it’s reality, that’s what creates the immersion for the player. Writing along with reality, you talk about Juno in the video like she is real until she does something to you don’t like. Proving your immersion into the gamescape. I’m actually enjoying your video because you are a nerd and a gamer who can’t help but be immersed.
If I Continued This To Force Unleashed 3.
I'll Embrace The Fact That These two games aren't Canon.
More Creative Freedom for Me.
It Take Place after The Sith Ending of This game, and It's Sith Hoth DLC.
As an Opening:
Sideous, after Learning Of Luke Sky walker's Capture,
Makes Starkiller and Luke, (assumed to Be turned Fully under The Dark side)
And Forces them to Duke it Out,
In order to Serve the Rule of 2.
The Beginning of The Game is a Tutorial Boss Fight with Dark Side Luke.
We Defeat Luke Enough,
where cutscene plays out Like The Button Prompt of the end of the Bosses of The First Game.
But instead of constantly Pressing Buttons During The Cutscene,
You Just get the Pleasure of Watching Luke and Galen Merrick Slashing Lightsabers in such a Fast Flurry,
That Sparks Come Flying out Like Rain.
They Do that Until They Stike each other Back at Opposite ends of The Room,
Then Sprint at Full Speed To Lock Blades Right infront of The Emperor,
Whos Enjoying this with Twisted Enjoyment.
Galen and Luke Charge Purple and Red Lightning into Their Blades that are Pushing against each other.
Then, With The Might of The Two Warriors,
They Channel all that Energy,
And Unleash it at Palpetine.
But The Emperor, Predicting This,
Force Pushes That Energy away,
It's You and Luke VS Emperor Palpetine, The TRUE first Boss,
With The Emperor Weilding
His Iconic 2 Lightsabers from that Fight against Darth Maul and his Brother.
The Fight Leads to a Knocked out Luke, and Starkiller Force Pulls Luke's Lightsaber to his Free hand to Block The Force Lightning from Sidieous.
Galen, Being Weakened without The Sith Holocron inside his Back.
Almost Loses,
But Then Darth VADER comes Back as Force Ghost to Help Save his Son.
And it Plays out like Mace windu Blocking Force Lightning from Revenge of The Sith.
In The Emperor's Last Moments, Realizing his Position.
Accepts his Fate and Dies.
Leaving Starkiller as The Emperor's Successor.
Actually jedi could have as many kids with as many people as they want, they just can't get attached
This is an incredibly disputable statement. The only records of Jedi having children in either continuity that they *didn't* hide from the Council was Ki-Adi-Mundi, and his was due to the low birth rate present in his species.
The evidence would show that they were, in fact, not allowed to have children as a standard.

Ye i love this game!!! This and Clone Wars certainly washed away the foul taste the snooze fest, awfully written, political nightmares of the prequels. Back in 2011 (yes i was late) i thought "huh so does star wars no longer create fun compelling character arcs anymore" before being proven wrong by Dave Filoni, Sam Witwer & many others!! it's almost as if one person not having too much power is a good thing... now that we have Rebels, Bad Batch, Rogue One, Force Awakens, Mandalorian, Ahsoka, JFO, JS etc i feel stupid for worrying about star wars no longer creating compelling stories, but back then....
Subbed for backwards lightsaber
Really wanted to appreciate the video but the annoying loud background music killed it. What is it with RUclipsrs copying each other's crap standards ? A video essay with a calm voice, a comfortable pace, relevant illustrations, it's all we should require for such format. What a pity :(
@@Milo95 I copied what I prefer to watch. I prefer my video essays with background music, increases the quality and engagement. I think the presence of it in most essays is evidence that most people agree, as the video is incredibly empty without it. A shame you disagree, but I hope you find the content youre looking for.
Sub count does not match quality gj
Would you wanna do a collaborative video together
I appreciate the offer but I'm committed to working on my own for the time being. Thank you for asking and watching though!

Darth Vader unfortunately did same thing
Dude never played Jedi Power Battles or Kotor
Kotor is GOATed
you severly overanalyzed that bit in the opening
The video is 3 hours long.
Of course I overanalyzed it.
You’re crazy bro
@@Skinnydibs Only the second time I've heard that this week since my therapy session
@ what does that mean bro
Time for Disney to remaster this as “The Thread Unleashed” with the main character genderswapped to female 🤣
L take honestly
What take?
