What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the clone wars, the 501st legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts, any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word.
@@875unknown I don't know Palps flipping the script on the heroes and using their efforts to uncover his atrocities as an excuse to decommission the clone army was pretty slick.
Battlefront 2 deathless was pretty rough, but my god I have to warn you that Battlefront 1 deathless was probably even worse. There were a couple missions I expected to be really awful, but there's one playing as the rebels that I was actually looking forward to at first, only to discover it was an absolute nightmare where I could go 111/0 and still lose. I won't spoil the surprise in case you want to inflict that on yourself, but every mission just being a big deathmatch sometimes turns out to be even harder.
One thing I love about your videos and style is how you use silence and in game sounds. Feels like most creators these days have an irresistable urge to fill every second with noise and it's a surprisingly relaxing and enjoyable editing style of yours to let moments breath
That's because depending on what they're making a video of, the sound effects and in-game music could be copy write protected. The dumb noises are there so the youtuber can say his video is more transformative and less subject to copywrite law.
The one thing that I always loved about the campaign, it was in the OG lore. I always thought it was awesome that the clones all knew and were conditioned to follow the list of absolute orders with no deviation; because the clones were bred for loyalty to the republic, but more importantly whomever know the command phrases.
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 Yeah, the old EU was pretty much a mess when it came to narrative consistency. There were so many retellings and contradictions, it was impossible to have one coherent story.
@@luked7525 Modern canon hasn't been around as long and there's plenty of contradictions/inconsistencies lol. Maybe even more than the legends timeline
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 Bear in mind the journal is written from years in advance after order 66. The Clones knew they were gonna turn on a Jedi from a "writing is on the wall" viewpoint. They didn't explicitly know, but they could see things going that way. Plus the Jedi knew that order 66 was a thing same thing order 65 was kill the chancellor. It's just they had no idea about Palpatine and never imagined the order actually getting used
4:37 Team Kill... I wonder what's harder. Win without dying or win without accidentally hitting a teammate (not just no team kills, but no teammate hits at all, so you can't let the reticle flash blue). I think some explosives (like detpacks) will often flash blue if you blow them up and hit nothing, so this could be another neat challenge.
Next please do "Can I complete Real Life without dying?" You seem to be good at this format so id be intrigued to learn how you do that too! You're the best Predz
Right when you think he's done with a Game, he comes right back with more! Not that I'm complaining, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a childhood classic and watching these reminds me of my long gaming nights with a shit ton of McDonalds burgers and countless fights!
I never thought of the 501st soldier's monologue as present tense, they always seemed like a looking back on past missions, I don't believe the Clones knew of Order 66 until it actually happened
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066it also doesn’t had up with common sense. If they all knew then odds are palpatines little plan would be exposed within under a year.
@111abcdefghijklm Well I like the individualism of the clones that got expanded on. In this version, they are all the same down to a T, and obedient to an extreme fault. They wouldn't be as fun that way in a series like the clone wars but in a shooter game like this it's fine cause in every shooter you mindlessly obey orders anyways
If you ever need an excuse to play more, you can always try to beat every map in instant action without dying. You can also do that for each faction. ON TOP OF THAT you could try to be all the "the hunt" extra modes in a row without dying on each side.
Jedi knight: Jedi Outcast (and its sequel Jedi Academy) are excellent and i highly recommend you play them next (especially since you said youd never heard of them on stream)
i used to head cannon the campaign was actually a spec ops group of the 501st doing missions the jedi had no clue where even happening thats why you only have 150 men at max to fight cant have the whole platoon doing a secret mission
@@DecidedlyNinja well given they dont need to find recruits or ever worry about moral with either clones or droids kinda makes sense the average unite size would increases with less cost. that and the whole just take our money and give us a lot of cannon fo*cough* troops mentality of both sides.
OG Battlefront Campaign and Conquests please! The first game in a different animal, especially on Dune Sea, with the relentless Tuskens. zeems like the empire ALWAYS runs hero bonus. really fun though
It’s actually pretty simple for the mustafar space mission. Believe it or not, stay in the bomber. It has high HP and Damage reduction if you can get good at using the laser cannon to snipe, you can 1-2 shot most fighters. If you need to repair, got to the other side of your ISD. First, destroy the frigates as the enemy aggro bubble will be much shorter. Then kill the fighters by sniping them in the bomber. Then go away from the Providence and fire at it with your cannon. Only do short bombing runs when it’s low. Then land on he OTHER side of the Providence as fighters don’t actually come out that direction. Steal the Bellebub bomber and leave the same way you came in. Book it back to the hangar. No lives lost. I did this without dying.
As a kid, I loved BF2's campaign with all my heart. As an adult, I raged quit Knightfall after an hour of restarting, wondering how in the world I made it through as a kid.
I know the campaign isn't canon, but I just noticed a glaring issue in the first level. Why would the chancellor want the power source on Mygeeto that the droids are defending. First off, He's playing both sides so it doesn't matter who has it in the end. Second, the Confederacy has the plans to the Death Star anyways. Why would he want the Republic to have the crystal since at worst the Senate takes control of the crystal Palpatine brought attention to, and at best he doesn't do anything with it except have republic scientist study it or something.
Because he can justify further spreading the Jedi around the galaxy in the outer rims when order 66 is conducted. Also, just because he already has the blueprints to the Death Star doesn't mean he has the material(s) he needs to actually create it yet
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 But there's already a campaign to retake Mygeeto from the separatist. He doesn't need to add extra "secret" objectives when the clones are going to invade anyways. Plus, like I said, he controls the separatist as well as the Republic, he already has control of the power source. Palpatine could do the same thing he did with the separatist leaders in episode 3. Palpatine just tells the leader at Mygeeto to move the power source off world before he sends in the clones like he die at Utapau.
@@Lechuga1815 I see what you're getting at but I think it's justifiable to say that Palpatine just likes war, chaos and death. He wants to make it as difficult as possible for everyone which could be some strange "test" of his to see how skilled they really are. Besides, if you really applied that logic everywhere you wouldn't really have a game to play lol
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 The entire purpose of the Outer Rim Sieges was infact to do this, to weaken the CIS leadership, and get the Jedi away from Coruscant for the events of revenge of the sith. It basically sets him up perfectly to unite the galaxy without any major threats to oppose him.
@@CABRALFAN27 Oh I can. But why would I want to? It's like when the New 52 came out for DC. Decades of amazing stories, wiped from canon and replaced with garbage (Except Batman. His New 52 run was good)
@@connorharnage6697 Eh, to each their own, I guess. I personally think there's both good and bad stuff in both continuities. Disney has some real diamonds in the rough like Fallen Order/Survivor, early season Mandalorian, Rogue One, and most of all, Andor, and on the flip side, let's not pretend like Legends didn't have more than a few stinkers of its own.
@ It did. I'm not gonna pretend everything was perfect. However, the EU's quality was pretty great overall with only a few dozen bad apples over three decades. Disney has only had Star Wars for one decade and the best stuff in their canon imo, is the stuff they had a limited hand in like Fallen Order (I haven't played much of Survivor so I can't judge)
to answer the "new account" rage stuff, it's because it increases suffering and is a more authentic attempt. for some games it matters as it makes the game "easier" so fresh clean saves just makes everyone happy.
The objective of [Map.name] is super-unique. There are [number] Command Posts around the map that need to be controlled. Each is guarded by a progressively stronger force of enemies.
Fun fact, the whole premise of the space yavin mission is to stop the rebels from jumping into hyperspace, ripping through the star destroyer, basically the Holdo maneuver 12 years before last jedi came out
Honestly its so fun to watch you go through my childhood, hard to imagine it being difficult for me on my ps2. I remember having the extra challenge of avoiding the semi frequent crashes due to how much i played star wars battlefront
They're aware of order 66 because that was the original plan for the clones, to all be trained and bred with the information to turn on the jedi which made the whole thing much more nefarious. George introduced the inhibitor chips later as a more plausible 'direct control' method. Also I think this is being documented past tense, so that helps with the 'knowledge' a bit
"All music for this video was pulled from the "Star Wars: The Old Republic" OST" I fucking knew it. You put Hoth music over Hoth footage, but they were from different games. Love that song!
First of all, thank you for the whole series and the streams, I was introduces to this game by my dear friend and whenever I play it (even now because of your videos) I still remember sitting in his house, trying the game for the first time. Part of me wants to see you play LOTR: Conquest, since it's almost literally Battlefront with Hobbits and Orcs etc. but then the campaign is often luck based with high enemy hero focus, or catapults or even the eagles/nazguls. Still, it would be interesting to watch as long as your sanity would not be lost in the process. Funny thing is that I might have accidentally played this campaign on elite only. No wonder it was so difficult from Jedi Temple onwards XD
I was going to suggest to use KOTOR 1 & 2 music for future vids so very glad i heard Dantooine combat on Utupau, also could throw in some Republic Commando ost as well. Edit:i noticed the KOTOR music placement was in relevance of map location as well, chefs kiss
I know you've played this before, but getting one-tapped by a stray wrist rocket is a right of passage for all players no matter how skilled lmao. Funny to see everytime
2:13 That honestly always bothered me when I was younger. Don't get me wrong I played the hell out of this campaign when I was younger, but the clones fight alongside the Jedi generals for 3 years get to know them and bond with them and are just expected to turn on them when told to. Idk just made the Clones seem heartless to me. I feel there would've been thousands of clones who wouldn't follow the command or would have told the Jedi sooner. That's why I like the inhibitor chip. The chip gives a more reasonable explanation as to why all of them follow along with the order and makes it so the clones themselves don't know and won't let truth out.
The idea that the clones would all know of their true goal and not a SINGLE one of them have a change of heart and spill the plan is by far the biggest plot hole in on this franchise, if not all of fiction.
How many soldiers do you think speak a single word to their general? Even if we go with the low troop numbers of canon, each Jedi needs to become close enough friends with over 1000 clones for them to disobey the command of the supreme chancellor, who is relaying that the Jedi are attempting a coup. Mind you, the clones are genetically modified to be less independent and follow orders to the letter. The order wasn’t secret either, it was one of 150 contingencies. Edit: I wanted to add that 10000 Jedi leaders is also generous, as many didn’t lead, nor were even old enough to enter the battlefield.
@@Arwilus Yes, it's true that order 66 was one of many orders, but as we see in this campaign, which was Canon at its release, that the clones were very aware that order 66 was the purpose of their existence, they were just waiting for their time to come. It wasn't a "I'm ready for any of the orders" scenario, they were specifically looking for order 66 to come in. And secondly, we also see in this campaign that the clones clearly respected the Jedi still and had their doubts about going through with it the whole time. It was so bad that they said they couldn't bear looking Aayla Secura in the eye because she had just saved all their lives. There's no way that's the only time that ever happened, and there's no way someone wouldn't have broken at some point.
@@Kjf365 blame inconsistency. I don’t hold this game in higher regard than actual novels and what is told in the movies. It conflicts with sources of higher position, and is as such to be taken less seriously. Edit: most likely it wasn’t made with canonicity in mind, but rather a good gameplay experience.
@15:45 Funny, same exact thing happened to me today! I just went in and destroyed the auto-defence computer, this completed the objective and I eas aboe to continue.
So fun fact, bomber craft can one shot interceptor type ships like the A Wing or tie interceptor, while normal fighters take 2 shots and bombers take a whopping 3 shots to kill, this is what happened when you got one shot and why in my runs ive always avoided using interceptors and kept enough stamina to perform evasive maneuvers, it can make space battles pretty consistent if you do it right
1:11:25 The objectives of Yavin 4 (Ground) are super unique: there are several Command Posts you need to capture to get to the temple gates and each requires you to deal with a progressively stronger group of enemies.
This is so fun to watch because back in like 2007 when I was 9-10 years old I did this EXACT playthrough (Iron Man Elite Difficulty) with the added handicap of only playing as the engineer for the whole thing. I actually remember not getting really stuck on Kashyyk really
I remember attempting this challenge myself in private with my old account. I got all the way up to Yavin 4 while skipping space battles. This is really impressive. Well done.
funny thing, if you crouch in that little corner next to the sea wall panel as and engineer you can constantly be healing the panel and very rarely if at all draw droid aggro. the tanks are the only real threat to the refinery so it's basically an easy win
16:20 if you want to save several seconds, you can put a time bomb on the far left side of the engine cooling tanks, then place one on the far right side as well, then the left again once the first one detonates. The damage is still the same to the tanks, but the distance is far enough where you (and the bombs) are safe from other bombs blast radius (and also you have enough time to safely retreat to the other side once the previous bomb detonates)
For a Line in the Sand, something I liked to do was play as an engineer, place a detpack on the seawall controls, hide when needing to protect the refinery, blow up any enemies that were nearby the controls trying to destroy them which destroyed the controls in the process, use the small window to repair the controls, rinse and repeat.
I played through campaign recently, on Elite. It was certainly a challenge. Jedi temple was hell, I spent like 5 hours trying to complete it. Polis masa was also something I struggled with - in the end I had to clean out something like 70 troops with no reinforcements, it was unreal, they spawned with no end in sight. Final thing that broke me was Hoth. Snipers in hangar that would one shot you from full health, endless spawn of them, being forced to push tight quarters where 20 enemies can shoot you. I even completed that, several times. But the very final task was impossible for me - once you place the beacon game spawns hordes of troops that spam grenades on beacon non stop. Had to lower my difficulty, because after hours of trying I just couldn't do it
It's really crazy to me that back when this game came out, the story made so much since. Filled in plenty of things we never saw. Then with force unleashed, it flushed out even more. It even worked with this campaigns story. But now after almost 20 years and so much work on TCW, Rebels, Bad Batch and other prequel focused titles, that this story just feels like a wet dream? Like the 501st being every battalion to fight the major battles is funny. The jedi deaths and the way they portray them (Aayla secura being the big one) or that the clones were moved into the storm trooper Corp or knew that order 66 was going to happen. Temura Morrison does a great job in this game, making it feel believable and real. But I'm so happy they didn't end up treating the clones like this. Even if the story is great and made sense at the time
I am someone who has played this game since near game release and considering this is my first shooter that I’ve played consistently through grade-school, junior high, high school, college, and now 2 years out of college. I grant you the usage of award weapons ESPECIALLY if you use a fresh file at the start of each run, anyone who disagrees is objectively wrong imo. You’ve earned the award within the challenge and within the parameters of the challenge, you EARNED the medal in game, you should be able to reap the benefits. As far as resetting the level instead of the campaign on death. You’ve earned it after marathoning 4 GCs like that. The campaign has some brutal sections and I still generally play on normal casually
3:42 Side comment, COD uses COD Points. I’m refusing to pay anything on the new COD and got it with gamepass, I accidentally complained “I need just a bit more free COD Points (abbreviated version)”, I had some elaborating to do after that one.
Seeing the title of this video made me rethink my skill in this game, then you explained it and I felt much better. I'm 90% sure it's impossible to complete the whole campain without dying once. It took me 5 days to complete the campain on elite difficult. (cried more than once after losing for the 50th time) It is just so stupid hard to fight off every enemy while watching my teammates walk directly past them unscathed.
I want to note something of how I've understood star wars canon. Order 66 was known to jedi as well. It's one of many different failsafe orders that existed. However, what wasn't known to the jedi was that the soldiers had a biocode override that made such an order absolute and impossible to disobey. Something unknown even to most of the clones. So when order 66 happened. The clones that had fostered close relations to the jedi had basically their brains hijacked in order to murder those that had looked out for them and treated them more like people than any other, and the jedi who trusted their clones as there was no suspicion and nothing but trust between them, couldn't see it coming as it was not something that the clones had intent towards, being something that jedi normally can otherwise sense.
So basically, this campaign technically was canon at some point. It’s part of the Legends continuity which was canon until Disney’s acquired the Star Wars IP and the canon changed. It was fully rendered non-canon when the inhibitor chips were introduced in the Clone Wars show. At least that’s how I understand it.
I remember my team developed our preferred strategy in hell divers where 2 of us would engage as loud as possible and draw in all bots while I would utilise my skills in stealth to sneak up on bot bases and hit them with eagle strikes before sneaking back into the jungle. My skill in stealth still serves me against the bots to this day.
So I want to throw a few tips for people trying this, some extra tips for co-op tries for this too. I tried this challenge with a small change with a friend so yeah. Not all tricks are applicable and some could probably be worded or even done better Overall tips: 1: use vehicles without having your character exposed seriously. It helps a lot more. There are a few missions with exceptions to these rules. 2: if you aren’t confident don’t use heroes and stick to one class. 3: fight underneath the enemy frigate and do not use interceptors unless you think you are the best pilot. 4: most empire missions take an AI ally. Mygeeto: only tip. You can ignore part of this mission and attack the core machine for the flag objective with Ki-Adi-Munda or Jet Trooper. Do this and it saves you fighting a few extra enemies Felucia: use the AT-TE or Secura the six legged insects can out pace you and even when you do kill them other things can kill you. Kashyyk: Wookiees. Rely on them. Be patient. Utapau: be slow and force Push Grevious off a cliff and if you are lucky you can steal an AAT Knightfall: two tips. One use Engineer. They reliable one shot Jedi and the C4 helps. 2: heal the bookcases when you get down to one Jedi from wave one that is trying to destroy their original one. The extra health can save you. Co-op tip: just have a friend or you heal the bookcases. Naboo: only tip I have is rush cause the AI is stupid. Once auto turrets are down you are golden. Mustafar: don’t roll on walkways and stick to your favourite class Kamino: unless you are confident don’t play as Boba Fett the time limit is struck and the LAATs shred health. If playing Co-op this is much much more doable as one of you can be a Heavy Trooper Death Star: only tip here is stick with your favourite class, but switch to heavy or Engineer for finale two objectives Polis Masa: watch for grenades, bring an AI friend, and if playing co-op have a friend who is either really good or does dumb stuff to protect your initial command post Tantive IV: watch for friendly fire, grenades and dumb stuff until Vader arrives. Once done you are fine. Elite or no the beginning just sucks. Yavin: if you are lucky or skilled steal a rebel tank. Reasons being 1 less tank to deal with, and 2 it is better at pulling dumb stunts with. Oh and make sure to use the medical droid or a tank for the pool command post. Hoth: AT-AT usage. Make sure you know where you spawn fro, command posts. Destroy turrets both auto and regular if you have time, Vader is definitely possible as I have done Hoth deathless way too many times. Mainly to see how much the lightsaber bar would fill up. Co-op tip you can thin and control the rebels in this mission. For all Space Missions: use a bomber and attack the enemy frigates and command ships underneath and their command ship there, no turrets firing at you. For fighters get good at leading shots or pray. Or be very good. Co-op tip split duties for missions coming later and steal fighters. Final tip for the CIS ships just fly around the back of their hanger, they only come out one way Space Mission 1: don’t really have a trip other than fly low. Space Misison 2: only tips I have is again fly low, watch your health and hope you can land just fine in the hanger and activate it. If not either take off and land over and over until it does or just fly out and in. This mission is buggy Space Mission 3: two tips. One let a few troopers get out. Gives you some bodies to stall the AI. And 2 just Steal the CIS Bombers at the beginning of the flight. Oh and I guess 3 don’t worry about the enemy being in your ship much? I didn’t have to deal with as many fighters when I ignored the enemy spawning in but it might be a placebo. Co-op just has you splitting duties. Space Mission 4: only tip I can give is stick to the bomber it isn’t bad and if you are quick you can use the missiles to hit enemy fighters. Co-op has a better tip. Just have a friend mess with the enemy trying to leave the hanger. No joke this makes this mission almost too easy. Doubky so if they steal a Y-Wing for the final objective. Mostly to speed it up.
So, excellent video, I enjoyed it thoroughly. I kinda wanna do a run like this myself now! Pretty impressive work. That said, I'm actually gonna disagree with you on space battles. At about 37:00 you said you feel that you don't really use tactics in space, that it's a numbers game, that you die even though you make no mistakes. Problem is, you are making two major mistakes and one minor. And I can't really fault you for those mistakes, because the mistakes aren't really obvious and you might not even realize they're mistakes. And this is for anyone playing, this is to help you become a better pilot overall. Also, just so I'm being fair with my criticism, I decided to do Preventative Measures with the same rules you did. I did the mission twice, once on an account that had all the awards unlocked and once with a completely fresh account that had no access to any awards. Funnily enough, I died 5 times on the account that had the medals. Three were in the hanger, and two were in space. I only died twice on the account with no awards, once in the hanger and once in space. With that out of the way, you made two major mistakes that actually make space far more tactical than you might think, and one minor: The first major mistake you made was Boosting. You're playing like you're on land. On land, its fine to use up all your Energy Dashing. In fact, I'd say its even encouraged, you gotta get around the map quickly after all and Dashing allows you to do that. Additionally, you're not going to be dead in the water if you run out of energy and find yourself in a firefight. Space is the opposite. You want to Boost as little as possible, you NEED to conserve your Energy meter because you never know when you'll need to dodge missiles that locked onto you, or roll out of the way of oncoming fire. Instead, you wanna use your thrusters to get around quickly. Avoid boosting unless you are absolutely, 100% sure you won't get targeted, and even then? Only use about half of your energy bar at most. The second mistake is not respecting the Auto-Turret sight lines. I noticed you like to charge straight in at a capital ship, or a frigate. That's a one way ticket to being shot down, no matter what ship you're in. The only ship that can handle being targeted by them are Dropships, and even then you'll loose a decent chunk of HP. The Auto-Turrets have excellent aim when it comes down to shooting players, so you gotta avoid them. Fly under the capital ship, or hug the side of the ship, where the turrets can't hit you. They'll still shoot at you of course, but you'll die far less if you have a capital ship between you and them. The final mistake just involves choice of ship, specifically for the Dogfights. And heck, I made this mistake with the one death I got on the account that had no awards. The Interceptor is not the best class to use for the dogfights, especially for a no-death challenge. You're far better off using the TIE-Fighter or TIE-Bomber. It feels weird, right? The problem with the Interceptor is that they get one shot by basically everything. The TIE-Fighter and Bomber are far more reliable. The Fighter has missiles to help you lock on, and can survive a single shot from a bomber, while the bomber's primary weapon can instantly kill enemy Interceptors and two-shot X-Wings and such. Also, try dogfighting above and around your Star Destroyer. You'll find its far more manageable, and the NPCs won't swarm you. It takes longer, but you're not going for a speedrun here.
I've been playing this game a lot, when i was a kid. That last mission was an absolute nightmare for me. Last year, when I was on vacation, I have finally finished it for the first time.
33:45 - 52:05 Honestly missions like these honestly makes me also really appreciate that Battlefield 2042 had modes where you can play as any army to fight any other army. The new Battlefront 2 I think was fun but I always feel is outshined by the original Battlefront 2 for the primary reason of Instant Action missions, all being either just regular battles on or off certain planets and specific custom battles on a planet (Jawas vs Tuskan Raiders on Tattooine, Ewoks vs Clones on Endor, etc.). I honestly hope if they ever want to redo Battlefront again or possibly add a future update, I think they should have an options of choosing a faction to be before battle. It would be cool to go on any planet and possibly have the CIS vs The Rebels on say Mustafar or even The First Order vs The Clones on a Death Star. Then again its mainly all wishes if they ever decide to try and revive the Battlefront series again in general... I know I am still waiting for Republic Commando 2 lol Either way, Great video Predz, Keep up the phenomenal work!
Space combat is just spam alt/dodge to victory. Keep auto turret arcs in mind as well. As soon as you take damage or lasers flying past you just hit alt and wiggle that mouse baby. Glorious video, has inspired me to copy the playthrough
I want to issue a weird challenge. There's one version of the conquest maps you haven't done, and I'm hoping you'll hear me out. The PSP version. Yes, it's got the lowest spawns and despite several reviews missing this..fewer maps. Thing is, it plays very uniquely between the weird controls, spawns, and limitations. (Side note, it's been copyright nuked now, but there used to be a modded version that put the full roster of maps and even a bunch more, so it wasn't a hardware issue.) Maybe you'd give it a try. You may find the lonely, almost Silent Hill esque version of this game you never knew you could like. Space battles suck in it, though. There's no interiors to destroy, so it's all dog fights.
My first taste of this game was on the PSP as a kid, and I was absolutely in awe when I realized I could blow up the ships from the inside when I played on PC. Still liked landing in hangars on the PSP version, it was just a matter of spawncamping rather than doing actual sabotage.
@erikhanseisenheber It felt so bizarre coming from the PS2 version. Maps were quiet until you got ambushed by the whole team at once. I've tried this exact channels on that version countless times over the years, and only managed to complete one of them years ago with constant reinforcement spam. This series explained a lot of what's probably being exacerbated there, where it almost feels like a solo a good bit of the time.
If you haven’t seen The Bread Circus review of Phantom Menace, give it a look. Nice mix of appreciation for what’s there and using the “legends” lore to explain what the hell they were thinking.
I remember doing a galactic conquest map of Polas as the CIS and i used the hero spawn which gives uou darth Maul and that man cut down all enemy reinforcments by just charging through all hall ways and cutting down anyone in front. I remember doing that and feeling like i just docovered a speed run hack for yhat map, good times
Geezor Delso being able to have a Providence and two Munificents without attracting the Empire's attention is actually explainable thanks to several source books. Not all of the CIS fleet was scrapped for parts. Some of it was kept to serve planetary defense forces. The Corporate Sector Authority, a section of the galaxy run by a group of corporate interests that Palpatine allowed autonomy, used a number of outdated ships, including ones from the Separatist Alliance, for their own means. It would make sense that with Mustafar being so mineral rich, corporate interests from the CSA with stock in its mines would use their hand-me-down ships to carry resources and defend against pirates. As long as no other unrelated ships came within visual range of them, they probably wouldn't notice that Geezor's ships still had the CIS insignia painted on them. If you really think about it, there is no definitive proof that the other CIS ships flying around in the background of that space battle are actually Delso's.
I couldn’t agree more with your space battle rant. I recently did a play-through of the campaign because of your galactic conquest videos and holy shit did I struggle on the space battles. Not only are all the pilots targeting you, but you also will just randomly get engaged by every auto turret and instantly die to that as well.
I for one would be interested to see if you could complete a Normal difficulty playthrough w/out dying... at all. Full campaign restart on death, don't really think you'd need one tbh. Awesome series 👍
The amount of times in Legends where people witnessed and escaped the Death Star with their lives is incredibly high. Every time the rebellion would get some small snippet of information from escapees and some partial data on the station itself. Even the three major leaders of the Rebel Alliance saw it and were actually temporarily interned inside. But the only thing the rebels ever knew about it for the longest time was that there was a giant space station the size of a moon that may or may not have some sort of giant laser. They had to keep on the attack. Finding as much about the station as they could. And eventually they did get a full set of plans. Hundreds of rebels gave their lives for the tiniest bits of information. That last stand on Polis Masa to defend a fake holodisk copy of the Death Star plans was one small sacrifice amongst many to free the galaxy. Had these little, seemingly insignificant operations not been done, Alderaan wouldn't be the only victim of the Death Star. Oh except Horuz, AKA Despayre. Forgot about that.
Love these videos. I also just bought Kenshi 4 days ago and already have 30 hours in game and binged all your Kenshi videos. I would love to see you upload more and maybe a more expert tips and tricks video.
I enjoyed this video quite a bit. I'm glad you were able to complete the campaign. The Mustufar mission is probably my favourite of the bunch, right after Knightfall. As for other Star Wars games, have you ever considered doing similar content for EA Battlefront 2? I know it gets a mixed reception when being compared to the original, but I really do think that there is a lot of great content in that game, mainly on the multiplayer/instant action front. Additionally, I 100% recommend playing SWTOR. Because you used the OST, it'd be a great opportunity to play through the storylines like the Sith Warrior or Imperial Agent campaigns.
I think you just need to get better at space battles. You had time to dodge those missiles at 37:42. You can roll to get s, and disabling enemy autoturrets will help. They're still hard do to without dying don't get me wrong, but there's things you can do and tactics you can use to make life easier. Also different ships have different stats for offense/defence, if you use a bomber or transport your survivability will increase massively
I bet the best part of restarting each mission is hearing Temeura Morrison's voice every single time lol

Not a word.

Them knowing they were going to kill the Jedi ahead of time isn't og lore, it's just something done only in this game
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 Yeah, the old EU was pretty much a mess when it came to narrative consistency. There were so many retellings and contradictions, it was impossible to have one coherent story.

I enjoy this version actually. Fits more into the lore if Star Wars stopped at the prequels and "The Clone Wars" series never happened.

Forgot to mention yes it was elite difficulty
As a kid, I loved BF2's campaign with all my heart. As an adult, I raged quit Knightfall after an hour of restarting, wondering how in the world I made it through as a kid.
Play through republic commando next
Yes

Part of me wants to see you play LOTR: Conquest, since it's almost literally Battlefront with Hobbits and Orcs etc. but then the campaign is often luck based with high enemy hero focus, or catapults or even the eagles/nazguls. To me the knight fall portion was the best part as it still fits in with the current canon and temeura gives a great performance
@@Kjf365 spill the openly known order 66, one of the 150 openly known contingencies?

@15:45 Funny, same exact thing happened to me today! I just went in and destroyed the auto-defence computer, this completed the objective and I eas aboe to continue.
This story is still one of my favorite stories in all of Star Wars. Love the challenge you did with it!!!
As the years go by and the graphics and gameplay age, I really appreciate the sound design more and more. It's timeless
Evidently, I forgot how chilling the clone commentary in this is. I love it, and it's super well done, but I don't remember that part hitting so hard.
Had to lower my difficulty, because after hours of trying I just couldn't do it
bro your no deaths vids have been blowing up, shits sick!
This is some of my favorite StarWars content ever produced!! Thanks so much for reminding me it exists and that I can in-fact play it again
Not all tricks are applicable and some could probably be worded or even done better
Overall tips: 1: use vehicles without having your character exposed seriously.
Do this and it saves you fighting a few extra enemies
Felucia: use the AT-TE or Secura the six legged insects can out pace you and even when you do kill them other things can kill you.
Kashyyk: Wookiees. Rely on them. Be patient.
Utapau: be slow and force Push Grevious off a cliff and if you are lucky you can steal an AAT
Knightfall: two tips.
Mustafar: don’t roll on walkways and stick to your favourite class
Kamino: unless you are confident don’t play as Boba Fett the time limit is struck and the LAATs shred health. If playing Co-op this is much much more doable as one of you can be a Heavy Trooper
Death Star: only tip here is stick with your favourite class, but switch to heavy or Engineer for finale two objectives
Polis Masa: watch for grenades, bring an AI friend, and if playing co-op have a friend who is either really good or does dumb stuff to protect your initial command post
Tantive IV: watch for friendly fire, grenades and dumb stuff until Vader arrives.
Final tip for the CIS ships just fly around the back of their hanger, they only come out one way
Space Mission 1: don’t really have a trip other than fly low.
Space Misison 2: only tips I have is again fly low, watch your health and hope you can land just fine in the hanger and activate it. If not either take off and land over and over until it does or just fly out and in. This mission is buggy
Space Mission 3: two tips.

With that out of the way, you made two major mistakes that actually make space far more tactical than you might think, and one minor:
The first major mistake you made was Boosting.
44:03 monkey bar guys approach is diabolical lmfao
Now I'm even more eager to see you do this in BF1 as well ;)
man the lore in this game is so good, I wish they still went as deep into it as it feels they did here

Honestly missions like these honestly makes me also really appreciate that Battlefield 2042 had modes where you can play as any army to fight any other army. I know I am still waiting for Republic Commando 2 lol
Either way, Great video Predz, Keep up the phenomenal work!
(Side note, it's been copyright nuked now, but there used to be a modded version that put the full roster of maps and even a bunch more, so it wasn't a hardware issue.)
Maybe you'd give it a try.
49:55 not only are they reskinned, but they're also re-equipped. you'll find jet troopers with assault rifles and jet snipers too if you look closely
This is more canon then disney's slop they churned out. I will follow legends over disney every day.
At the end of the day, what's canon and what's not doesn't matter, they're all stories, and stories can never die as long as we choose to tell them
@@colinothebambino agreed on that part.
@@Hirowolfgangi mean Legends was more organisied than any Disney BS
If you haven’t seen The Bread Circus review of Phantom Menace, give it a look. Nice mix of appreciation for what’s there and using the “legends” lore to explain what the hell they were thinking.
@@FumblsTheSniperI was like ouo I need something to watch especially on star wars lore then saw the video is like 12 plus hours 😂.
As someone who played on Elite difficulty as a kid I have no problem with you not doing the whole campaign all in one perfect speed run pretty much
I couldn’t agree more with your space battle rant.
49:30 as a viewer, i woulda let it slide as a W but i respect the dedication
What if type missions are always fun. The couple in the Force Unleashed especially
26:30 whoa that song is a blast from
The past. Can you do Jade empire challenges?
"Even Jedi are no match for C4" Great qoute. Thanks for the video.
