Using Movie Mode Wrong On Fujifilm X-T5

I've been using movie mode wrong on my X-T5! I learned something that blew my mind and it made this truly a hybrid camera for me. This setting also applies to the X-T4!

The problem I have is if I want to change between 4k to 6k it won’t save the video settings, so you have to set up the SS again

Would savings 4k and 6k preferred settings to video custom modes solve your problem? This is what I do - I also auto -save custom modes in video (which I DON'T do for photo mode) which seems to make it stick.
Not positive this addresses your concern though
