Can you link or create a video/guide on how to braid this? whenever i do this blood braid I get the ugly underside of the leather every second braid. How do you twist it?
What's the pulling load rating on the bolt you used
So, these usually don't have a load rating (at least not that they disclose). If a load rating was super important I would use climbing carabiners instead. They should braid into the leash the same way. They don't look as classic, but functionally would work.
Keep in mind these are used in equestrian applications... Horses. So, if the dog pulls with the force of a horse, you should still be okay....( But, I would also say a properly trained dog doesn't pull the owner.)
Would you recommend the same leather type/thickness for a collar? Or go thicker for collars to avoid it curling up on the edges?
Yeah, I think this leather and thickness would work well for a collar too. If the leather is too stiff, then it can be uncomfortable and also difficult to get the strap end to feed into the buckle. Also, even the stiffest Leathers eventually will soften up; and form around collar (follow the curve) or curl up.
Thanks. I’ll give it a shot
Can i use this as a strape to my bag?
It would make a good strap for bags.
What is the braiding technique called?
Honestly, I'm not sure.
What leather is being used?
Hey. This is natural harness leather, similar to bridle leather.
