The few of us who have been calling for action for decades literally get called terrorists and radical.. nobody in this country has the guts to fight, not even for their own children to have a chance at freedom.. people who died in wars past to stop stuff exactly like this happening to our country would be turning in their fucking graves right now. Nobody grows up in this country anymore, they just turn into large toddlers who are forced to work every hour under the sun to afford nothing and can't be trusted to think or decide for themselves, have to do as you're told.. just like children.. it genuinely boils my blood that nobody is lining the streets out for blood at this point.

If you charge one up to a certain % charge, turn it off, then check again after a week, and it has drained the battery by more than a couple of %, then it's constantly searching for the nearest tower, which is where the energy has gone. You will notice that old smartphones had an accessible battery connection so that you could stop it tracking, which is why the designs have changed, however, I gather that they still retained a small charge so that it was possible to 'beep' the thing a couple of time to determine your location.
A couple of years ago an English tourist was murdered here. Cops used the above to track the killers every move. Knew where he bought the spade, and even where he buried her. Simply checked where her and his smartphones were together for a while, then had him.
Digress. 'The system' has got people to write on those things, instead of talk, because monitoring and recording the spoken word is a pain. Even if you delete the message or email immediately after sending, it stays in the system for ever, and can be retrieved and used against you.

Apart from 3 weeks in June when it was sunny, we've had yet another poor Summer, cold and overcast with rain most days. It's ironic when the news are reporting global warming and heatwaves in Europe, where as in the UK part from odd days, it has no effect on our weather.

Comments such as "I dont have to go far, so I will be OK" just show how truly ignorant some people can be.
I cant just choose to get a train or bus to work, it would take me nearly 2 hours, in my car its 40 mins, and i bet even with pay per mile it would still be cheaper than 2 busses and a train. Then what about camping trips or day trips etc, people will not want to go far paying for every mile driven doesnt seem like much until added to work miles and shops then seeing family... so the impact just goes on and on.
I suspect that this will make the current interest rate crises seem like a bump in the road compared.

I'm done trying to discuss this with people "I'm alright Jack" with (present) ULEZ compliant vehicles...
At the moment Petrol cars have to be Euro 4 = Jan 2006 onward
"You wait..." I kept saying, once the income declines as people upgrade to new vehicles - they will move the goal-posts & update petrol cars to being:
    Euro 5 - September 2011 onward
    & then Euro 6 - September 2015 etc...
By then the Euro 7 standard is due to set/implemented by 2025
(Sounds a little while off, but we are over halfway through 2023 already)
A few years later - your 2016 ULEZ compliant Diesel will have an expiry date when Diesel vehicles must become Euro 7, say by 2030...
THIS is the sort of stuff I've been trying to across to the "I'm alright Jack's", but was always dismissed with:
"Naaahh, they can't just announce they are changing & implementing new rules & conditions"
Jeeeez - they brought in the original ULEZ on the South/North Circular without any kickback or serious challenges & now quickly expanding it out to right close to the M25 because people like the "I'm alright Jack's" just shrug, roll over because "it doesn't really effect me".
NOW - it is becoming clear it is much much worse than even I thought - EVERYBODY will be monitored & most will be charged accordingly - even EV's. But I knew they would forever be moving the goalposts & revising who pays & how much etc...
I had hoped that this "appearance" of getting drivers to use greener vehicles would naturally proceed by itself, like the way nearly all of us have migrated away from ye olde incandescent bulbs to more efficient LED bulbs - without being fined heavily, but simply replacing the 40w incandescent or 10w Energy Saving fluorescent bulbs to 5w LED bulbs we buy today
BUT this gradual transition to greener vehicles doesn't generate wealth for TFL & others, so it is full steam ahead to quickly expand & implement ULEZ's across our towns & cities. When the revenue starts to decline a few years down the line revise the criteria - or better still make EVERYONE pay Per Mile
But, we are all tin foil conspiracy nut jobs
What is the difference between a Conspiracy Theory & the Truth - about 3~6 months

Currently the tax take is the highest since the mid 1960’s so just how much more do they think they can raise? Along with this they will know when and where you travel 24/7. You can imagine the complete mess trying to track and charge everyone.
