Honestly not sure why I'm crying after seeing this. We love you two and love watching your videos...but this one was something else. The caretakers are really taking good of her and so did we when we visited the Sanctuary to see her. Thank you Note for the recommendation and for us meet your sister and playing with her.

Touching story...I did go to Maeteng few years ago with 2 Thai friends when a holy monk Parinibana ( Passed away) ..the monk i respected so much. I didn't know any elephant sanctuary... Maybe next time I will stop over ...

We agree, Chiang Mai city itself is lovely but there's a lot to see in the outer districts like Mae Taeng, Chiang Dao, Mae Rim, Mae Wang etc...

I have been to a elephant santuary in sri lanka and memories came from that trip. They also made paper from the poo of the elephants. Enjoyed the bonding. Thanks for the content. Keep enjoying your thai exploration ❤

Another good elephant sanctuary your at, I was way up north of Chiang Mai to a different elephant sanctuary was very good too. So enjoy your past and now revisit to Chiang Mai. Take care
It's definitely easier to find a ethical sanctuary in Chiang Mai than some of the other cities in Thailand.

It's also hard to tell because she is so gentle and kind with everyone. But as long as she's happy and healthy, we're happy too 😊

Fun fact, Thai elephants like to be call P Yai’ or Por Yai’ then follow by their name. It means big brother or big father, they like to hear us showing respect to them. People only call only elephants name to baby elephants.
At suvarnabhum airport I've seen coconut selling for as high as 250 thb XD

Her name is Panward not Pungwat in Thai - ปานวาด = as painting.
Definitely remember Note telling me on numerous occasions that he had elephants... and now reunited! It's a full circle story, so glad Pangwat is living her best life!

So, does that mean that Note's family are from the Karen ethnic group in Thailand?
I've read that members of the Karen tribe in Northern Thailand have long been the main handlers / caretakers of the elephants in the country.
No he’s not related to the Karen tribe. His family is from Esan (northeastern Thailand) and moved to the North to live and work.
