  • If you was born and raised in Hawaii you definitely ate Kau Yuk! In fact you probably love kau yuk. So here is our version of this melt in your mouth staple from Hawaii. Whether you serve it with Bao (Chinese buns) or over rice, it's bound to bring back memories of the good old days. It's a little time consuming but it will be well worth you time...     Aloha bradda jus pau make da Kau yuk. Oh so Ono broke da mouth mahalo for sharing. Maybe wen u can make beef curry stew afta making beef stew afta watching u no can wait if u make beef curry. Again mahalo and thank you for sharing. Aloha stay well

    Some of sauce is part of making Char su too as I make both braddah .. but I use red food dye . thanks for posting Aloha

    “No laugh” Braddah I wen laugh 😆 thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I’ve always tried to mimic it with the char siu mix but neva come out the way it should. Now I know. 🤙🏽 maaaaaaaaahalo ☺️ yummers! 😋

    Has anyone tried cooking this recipe in a pressure cooker? If so, how long?

    If you use the instant pot instead of steaming would it work, and how long would you cook it?😊

      Hi Hilo Girl… I don’t know if the insta pot would work but it might… if we use a crock pot it would take about 6 hours… hope that helps… stay Blessed… Aloha!

      Hi M, yes you can and we have tried it before, the only thing is we used pork butt instead of belly, it held up better in the crock pot without being to oily and over seasoned... let us know how it comes out... stay Blessed... Aloha!
